  • the best judoka of all time...

  • Masterful dominance of opponent's balance n control

I notice the control of opp hips to stop n reverse tech

This is the Beat I've seen

    OSSU

  • One of the greatest masters of all time!!!

  • Mifune look likes he was classically trained in Daito ryu.

I rarly see Judokas using Aikido like throws?

too bad ,Judo didnt keep its weapon history...old Ken styles ,actully help your grappling and understanding.

nowadays theres alot of newaza, but in ancient times,if u ended up on the ground,um ...ur head could be chopped off =).

but since sport fighting was invented, now we have newaza.I still believe pinning with the knee,n vertical pins is more realistic.

  • thats interesting.. thanks for the insight..

  • @Shinkatana420

Well Kano trained with Ueshiba in the old days, so it's logical to see some of those techniques continue true in judo. Indeed too bad that judo lost the weapons, but it isn't really realistic in the competition sport judo is nowadays.

Btw... Great to see the old master mifune in these tapes! He once said he thanked his parents for making him small, that was his inspiration to train harder then all the other guys... I think/hope we can all agree that he succeeded in that!

  • Mifune was I believe in his 70's during these films... And had MANY REAL fights in his competitive days that MADE Judo... His detractors are Post TUF UFC loving NEWBS that have no clue much less respect

  • i get this feeling that his student dont really try to throw the teacher. kind of like a reverence sort of thing

  • yea me too, i guess they dont want to break grannys back

  • Yea, ok "Supatoker420"... And you do what besides waste your life on drugs that apparently infect your mind.... The mind that is dull cannot imagine the cut.... I believe Mifune was in his 70's when this film was shot - Match that

  • too bad some people can't take a joke. and what makes you think i do drugs? 420 for all i care can be my birthday, toker can be my last name

  • As comparison... Ever seen BJJ masters train, they train SOFT using technique over force, same with all true masters...

  • oz sensei Mifune!

  • what is that water sound behind all the time;s :)
