@AshDilorenzo I've figured out since then (roughly 3 years since we shot this) that if I plan on doing patter, AND knife tricks, I should actually practice the patter first. Otherwise, I have to spend too much concentration on not cutting myself to be able to speak in a coherent and compelling fashion.
