Nice to hear a Doors song that Ive never heard. But yeah it's crap! I really liked that 30 second snippet that was added to the re-release of The Soft Parade
I often wondered when they had to take his body up from the grave in 2001 cos his lease was up, did anyone have a peek in the coffin to make sure that Morrison really is dead?
So jim, 40 years after your death... We meet again! and im sure ill meet you someday when im not around anymore myself. I hope we can get a beer and piss in janis joplins glass of southern comfort.
it is clear why this wasn't included in la woman, but the spirit it's there, not hte best track from them, but still i got an erection, 41 years after...
unbelievable how they are still finding new stuff. Wonder what other unheard raraties they have in archive gathering dust. Cant wait till 24th jan to hear it proper on my stereo
@ewilkers7 Jerry Sheff was brought in to play bass on the L.A. woman album, Marc Benno to play guitar. Sheff and Benno were going to tour with the band, but Morrison's death canceled those plans.
There are many unreleased songs/jams by not only the doors, but most other classic bands.. I've found that if I've written a dozen songs then I've probably got a hundred more melody pieces/licks/progressions for future writing.... I'd only keep a portion of the material to record and test out. And of this material I would cut it down even more before recording an EP or LP. It just isn't possible to release everything. It flows out faster than you can control it! MUST LOVE THE MUSIC :) PEACE!
@bronsonski52 I think it was a "demo" and never was polished or re-recorded for the album. This version, added to the 40th Anniversary re-issue of L.A. Woman, is in it's original, rough format.
i'm 19 and is strange listen this for the first time on youtube, in 60's the new records was listened on vinyl......now on youtube......anyway that's strange sensation but great!!!!sorry for english..ale from italy
As a true Doors Disciple I have to say I LOVE this release. It is so perfect for this album. It goes along with the genre of what the band was doing at the time. Pulling it out now and comparing it to today's music is not going to make it a hit. We can hardly compare Jim Morrison to any current artist; Jim would kick their ass! Awesome blues sound, I can't wait to own the anniversary DVD & CD edition. Thanks Bruce, Ray, Robbie & John!!!
Not bad, but not verry good. It's no light my fire or break on, but it sounds good. Robbie's rockin' big time! And Ray's keyboard is, euh, Ray's keyboard ;-)
The doors are one of the top 5 most influential bands in rock and roll, and Jim Morrison is a rock GOD! But truth is.... they also knew what worked and what didn't. I know I'm gonna get some hate here, but there is a reason it didn't make it on the album. Because The Doors didn't want it on there.
For a second i felt like i was in the early 70's, i could have that feeling of freshness of a "new" The Doors song, like it was recorded yesterday. That's just priceless!
L.a. woman was almost like Jim knew his death was coming. In this song "The tvs on and im goin to drown, In the hyacinth house, I see the bathroom is clear, i think somebodys near, i know someones following me. I always found that suspicious and now lyrics hat involve being drowned as he would die in a bathtub. Something fishy is up with l.a. woman, its like he knew something we didnt. maybe maybe not, but its a thought
dont care man ... this song still got me excited ! i mean its JIM .. its the doors after decades.. its a privilege to hear a song which was otherwise lost..
It's not that good. Not to the Doors standard. I can see why this B-side never made it on the LA Woman album. Let's not treat this like a new hit single. It's an unreleased B-side. Nothing more.
@peetman23 since this was just posted yesterday and we didn't know the song existed until a few weeks ago, are you really surprised? the official release is in a week or two, the lyrics will be published soon
Oh how I love happy LSD...such a soft, sweet, innocent cherub, naked in the wilderness, frolicking through the fields, with grace in thy stride...How I long to negotiate a pleasant dream and a warm fuzzy place to hide. Climb vallys into the shade into an ancient spot where love was made. When the clap causes decay and flaming streams seem to stay, we'll dread the milky cumming of the day. At the end, beautiful friend, all that is left to say is I feel pretty, I feel witty, I feel gay
Oh wow, this is amazing! I love Jim's voice on this one, it sounds so lovely. Robbie, John, and Ray must have saved this for everyone to hear when it would be appreciated or needed. It is definitely needed now.
Haha, this sounds far too good to be real, I mean, Jim's voice sounds like a demo but all the instruments are flawless, so yeah, the music are played by recent musicians for sure. But that's OK with me though :D
@Omertahun if you listen to the doors, all song sounds like they're played by recent musicians... - this is typical with the very few bands which have a very unique style, songs don't sound old, like beatles, acdc, ramones, queen...
@knoblauchtv I think nobody forgot it, I'm pretty sure they were keeping this unreleased on porpouse... Ray, Robbie and John are GREAT business man, of course they knew the bomb this would be (I wouldn't be surprised if they got more inedit songs of Jim).
@Murdielago very possible. Same thing happens with Andy Warhol - supposedly, there are tons of boxes with unreleased material and prints ... could be the same with Doors tapes.
This is great. 4 guys, 1 goal and many chemical enhancers. Music has degenerated so much, hopefully it's cyclical like fashion and that great music will be made again. Justin Beiber and Lady Gaga is what humanity is into.
its great to hear somthing freash from the doors again....awesome...
