  • Not bad for an Irish combo. I think this is their first song outside an 4/4 time signature

  • lol he said 'bris', i thought something different was gonna happen lol

  • I LOVE THIS SONG :,) but this time did not sound that good... starting from bono.

  • THE HAIR, THE GLASSES GOTTA GO.BONO.

  • it's a deepness music sounds

    they gives me some inspiration

  • U2 is not that good anymore

  • No Line On The Horizon is their best album since Pop. The studio versions of these songs have the life sucked out of them, hear them live for the full effect.

  • @hansen6102 agree with you there the studio version of this really sucks live is so much better!

  • I love these guys ... the band U2 and Dog Savanna are the bands that I like to hear! Viva Rock!

  • sweet song eh? i saw them at rogers centre @ toronto... best concert ive seen out of aerosmith, van halen, rush, motley crew, sloan, snow patrol, and carrie underwood(HOT) Lol...

  • these are shite bands no surprise!

  • @goulwen1 well aerosmith, van halen and rush are good, Sloan and Snow Patrol are ok i guess not a fan of motley crue or carrie underwood though

  • what about the guy coming on the desk with bono? he is so lucky!!!

  • that guy in the crowd grabbed bonos hand on prupose. it wasent planned.

  • i like t that's rock n roll !!!

  • "Not bad for a little Irish combo"

  • this song has grown on me since listening to it the first time

    1) Magnificent

    2) Moment of Surrender

    3) FEZ

    4) Breathe

    5) NLOTH

  • wow...how can you leave out White as Snow, especially for FEZ

  • Its so beautiful, love is dripping from my eyes....

  • I wish we could hear Edge's performance and also Adam's better. They were absolutely great

  • I discover U2 in 2001 with their live at slane castle, I was 9. But my parents were fans, and I find out I know so many songs for so many years but I wasn't aware... So it's like I've been a fan all my (short) life.

  • Definatly one of my favorite u2 songs of all time

  • true

  • ROCK

  • i got chills theyr multiplying

why does the compare say GREASE

  • They're a great band but Bono messed up the lyrics a bit, no offence!! I would too live in front of a live audience.

  • Probably the best band in the world...

  • im with u on that one. ive been a fan all my life

  • bin a fan since was 4 =D

  • No probably, they are ;)

  • I LOVE B*O*N*O

  • Boots is one of the stronger album tracks. Weak album?

  • U2 RULEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Great song. They play this as opening song in 360° Tour. Still have to say, they could have played more songs from the last album at the concert, eliminating some useless new songs like City of blinding lights and Vertigo and some old songs they're no more in the mood to play like Pride and One.

  • City of blinding lights, Vertigo, Pride and One are amazing songs!! and I'm glad they played them

  • witch stadium where you at with thw 360 tour?

  • San Siro, Milano. Unfortunatley i was seated in a bad place for sound (though very expensive). Gotta say that Milan 7/7 has been one of the best 360° date among the concert i listened to.

  • bono e incrivel

  • Gonna see them this July :D

  • where? we go to Dublin...

  • Fantastic second best song album after moment of surrender!

  • Dead wrong. This is U2's best album in years. Stand out piece of music. It's got 7 or 8 great songs on it. How are "Magnificent" or "Stand Up Comedy" not worth listening to?

If you think this is a bad album, you'll be waiting around for a long time before somebody releases a "good" one.

  • you are absolutely right! this new album is masterpiece...there is no bad song on it:)

  • get on your boots is terrible.

  • I don't really agree, I think "All that I can't leave behind" is way much better. I really had issues with this new album. Actually, the only song I really loved was "Breathe", then I just liked a couple of songs, then the reste of the album was... yeah, it didn't suck, but was not really great.

Now, I really like this album, it's great, but still, not considering it's the best in years.

  • I wouldn't go as far as agreeing with you, but it's probably the only song that somehow gets close to the big ones like With or Without You and New Years' Day, and mostly because of Edge's guitar, keyboard and the strings arrangement, not so much thanks to Bono's voice ;)

  • i love bono to deth he is amazing!!! i hope to be like him one day

  • U2 is the best band!

  • And the guy coming up on the table with Bono, amazing!!

  • Way way better than the good studio version. Raw edge works better on this one.

  • Breeze ? Thought it was called Breathe?

  • I think Bono needs to stop singing for a while so he can sing beautiful when the tour starts.

  • I actually prefer this to the album version.

  • Yeah, me too, It's more dynamic.

  • Breathe is GREAT !!!

  • It's the first time when I hear Bono's not singing perfect. Well, at least the passion is the same.

  • you have to listen to more live stuff then...not that i don't like u2, i love it, but everybody has bad days, including bono, and more than one.

  • What's the matter with that performance?? According to all the problems Bono had with his voice the GIGANTIC amount of U2's touring during the last 30 years, believe me, this performance is just great! :)

  • It's Fantastic! Bono super!

  • fantastic!!!!!XDXD

  • solito capolavoro!!

  • Yeah, Bono seems to struggle a bit with live songs. Well, maybe he doesn't struggle that much, he does really well, but he's got errors. It's just not the album version where they can redo it, you know?

  • What a jackass thing to say, really. It's been reported that when the band flys on their plan, Bono generally has this oxygen mask/breathing apparatus-deal on the whole flight, because he's hitting notes that human beings aren't really meant to hit EVERY...SINGLE...NIGHT. We're talking since 1976 here, also. Lesson over.

  • flies*, plane*

    fuck's sake.

My comment is mainly directed at "Mizzouballer7", and anybody that else that parrots the same bullshit.

  • anybody else*.

Bear with me people, I'm having issues today, but you get the idea.

  • Hey, I didn't mean to bash Bono or anything. Yeah, he hits crazy notes and this is no doubt a really hard song to sing. I'm just saying he doesn't do as well live, like most artists.

  • Actually, yeah, I do now. You're just trying to cause problems, so, screw you, and I'm probably just going to ignore you now.

  • As said this was a rare exception. Check out the Letterman version, for example.

  • wow I realize the song is difficult to sing, I think Bono did a perfect job on Letterman, still amazing song

  • U2 forever in my heart!!!

  • this is my fave song on the new album!!love it...cant wait 2see them in croke park in July :)

  • bono's voice is all messed up, if u listen to the letterman version, he sang it almost perfectly, still the best song on the album

  • Yeah well it was the first time they has performed this song..it does take a few performances to get the kinks out

  • Bono's voice messed up?? ... really???

  • sings it better than the album imo

  • Really good. What a cool song, it rock´s! The new album is a masterpeace.

  • did the announcer call this song Grace? Did they change the title?

  • no, it's the french cannot pronounce "th" so they say Breass instead of breaTH;

  • I think he said 'Brease', Breathe but with an accent.

  • U2 always the best

  • this rong socks. i love it!

  • are they brill or what sounds like on the cd awsome

  • best band ever i love this song, AMAZING

  • i like this song.. but not the way bono starts singing... i think that part sucks... just my opinion... but the rest is awesome

  • like where hes talking kinda? yea i think thats kinda weird too but the guitar playing sounds great at those parts

  • I love that part :D

    Mick Jagger style

  • prob my fav of the new album so far

  • Others want to get where they have come and sing as they do ... but that has changed is that the line is sung Bono if all your music listening from boy to no line on the horizon is the most unique and fantastic music: SirJackRyan

  • Sing your heart out!!!!

  • great song

  • best song on the album u2 is definetly the best band...ever

  • Only the best from the greatest rock n roll band that touched this planet

  • une bombe ce titre pas comme le reste de l album .fan depuis plus de 20ans bono monte la sauce tu tesoufle helas

  • la voce è calata di brutto :(

  • fate schifo!!!!!! forza nino d'angelo!!!!!!!

  • Incredible album - it really grows on you.

    No line on the horizon

    Magnificent

    Moment of Surrender

    Being Born

    Breathe

How many brilliant songs can expect from one album. They truly are one helluva incredible band.

  • i put get on your boots andif i go crazy(best song for me), i agree whith you there are 8 singles in one album, u2 make coldplay and radiohead be a joke

  • Amazing Song!!!!

  • to RYOST18, thanks for the review. i love this song breathe. so, you are their number one fan? i thought that was me? perhaps i was mistaken? nice to meet you!

  • hmmm - there are a lot of us old fortysomething year old fans who'd challenge both you AND Ryost18 on the number one fan line ;-) But what the heck, it's a crowded room, and there's always room for more.

  • well, thank you!

  • Beat song on No Line on the Horizon

  • what a fukin guitar solo by the edge

  • best song on da album

  • Larry Mullen is a great drummer, the guitar and drums power through very well in this song.

  • I got this album at midnight when it was released and I was amazed when I listened to it for the first time. It's such an outstanding album, in my opinion their best. Number ONE U2 fan right here, they rock.

Amazing song from an amazing album!!!

  • its ok, but I wouldn't go as far as to say it's their best!

  • Bono edge larry adam= kings, gods, leaders, masters, rulers, princes, geniuses, everything, theses guys are the best

  • the EDGE ROCKS!!1

  • I love the cockatOO! part, lol

  • Brilliant song and performance! Running out to get NLOTH today! Can't wait.

Is it me, or do Bono's platform boots get like an inch taller every tour! He's a towering 5'8" in those things! Love it!

  • I like this version much more than David Letterman´s. The Larry´s intro, Bono into the crowd. Great song, great record, great band, great times are coming...

  • Wow, Bono really fucked up his line when singing the first "That I NEEEEEEEEEEED". Hopefully, he'd get better until the tour.

  • Comment removed

  • woooooww una de las mejores canciones de U2!!!!!!

  • i blew my load at 3:52 - how about you?

  • i blew my load many of time with your mama xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

  • Edge Kick Ass, One Of The Most Innovators Guitarrist Of All Time.

  • An absolute gem ths album is - No line on the horizon, magnificent, breathe, moment of surrender, unknown caller are just addiction

    U2 are BOYs again

  • the album comes out like this week or something? wait.. is it today?

  • out today....can download from itunes now---if from usa anyway....and probably from other places

  • ´ love the song ! Great piece of music. No line is one of their best albums since Achtung Baby.

    The Song sounds much like R.E.M . It `s a f***in great song ! Rock´s !!

  • This song sounds _much_ better on the album. The album would have been a masterpiece if they kept Eno and Lanois as producers and not introduce them as co-writers of the songs. They killed most of their choruses. If you kill a U2 chorus, you kill U2.

But I have a feeling they will rectify that playing live. Maybe there will be even some remastered versions on the upcoming "Best of 2000 - 2010"... :)

  • awesome!!! they make coldplay sound like a joke!!

  • simply stole words and emotions out of me - cant agree with you more mate

  • It´s so R.E.M.! I can´t believe it!

  • THEY ROCK!

  • Bono tries to sing like Michael Stipe!

  • yes! i didn't know who bono's singing reminded me of at the beginning of the song! but i like it!

  • An astonishing acheievment...yet again

So addictive songs are that I just dont bother listening to anything else no matter how great it would be.

    MAGNIFICENT U2

  • this is awesome song! one of the U2 best.New albums is amazing!!!! Third masterpiece!!!

  • I've just heard "No line on the horizon" (song) and it's so good that I'm afraid to listen to the rest of the album.

    It's simply unbelievable...

  • same here

  • Wow this song rocks, and the new album is amazing!!!

  • It drops on tuesday in Canada.. im gonna buy it!

  • ACE fukn ACE !

  • "Achtung Baby" can never be replicated, given its unique circumstances. But this song is good U2.

  • You obviously know your stuff by citing Actung, but just be careful not to sound like all those Joshua Tree Blowhards did when Actung came out...I've listen to NLOTH enough to know that this may just be their best ever.

  • Just for the record, the Unforgettable Fire's my favorite U2 album. And, for all I know, NLOTH may be their best yet. I can't wait! My point is, they can never again depart from what people think U2 is as they did on Achtung. Circumstances (too many to mention) are wholly different today. I can't express myself more without writing a book, so I'll stop now.

  • Circumstances are very different to beginning of 90s-yes. But you really think U2 can't depart from what people think of as U2 again? Have you heard the album?

I can tell you SKWalrus, they're already in the departure lounge with this very album and I can't imagine where it'll take them.

This album is texturally beautiful and it's waving bye, bye to their "safe" period.

  • what do you mean? pls, expand. even so, achtung was a very inspired "departure". ironically, it was the album that introduced me to U2.

but what about POP? that was a weird experiment ;0)

I think U2 are at their best when they write soulful songs, slow or rocky, the rhythm or sound don't really matter as long as there is melody+soul

  • Just bought the album and I am delighted to say if not equal ITS AS DIFFERENT AS WHAT ACHTUNG WAS AFTER JOSHUA TREE. Very very lively and an astonishing sound on music system. I bet most of the songs will cause earthquakes in arenas.. Breathe is great great and this live adds to the power

  • Breathe is such an amazing song

It has that 'like a rolling stone' 3/3 singing over 4/4 beat.

The lyrics are no bullshit, bono, talking about his mothers side etc.

Also has similarities to Michael Hutchence's song 'Breathe' and Kate Bush's 'Breathe'!! Maybe its just because they're all called Breathe?

Last thing, it has hip hop/ rap vibes. Lines such as "everyday I have to find the courage to, walk out". Hip Hop is hugggge right now, covers the charts. I think Breathe could be a chart topper.

  • Joshua Tree is still their alltime masterpiece. Achtung is a close second. The new album is a close third.

  • his voice healed a bit

  • FANTASTIC!

  • This song completely blew me away when I first heard it. Best thing theyve done since 'One' in 1991 and maybe the best thing Ive heard in years. Great sound and the words are sublime.

  • Bono channels his inner Lou Reed.

  • Love it!!!

  • I'm a U2 fan, the song is good but I hope better things of the album. Sometimes I think that U2 won't make a better album than Achtung Baby, I hope a song like One or The Fly. The song has a sound between Acobat and Dirty Day.

  • i downloaded the album, if u want, contact me, but i hav to say im a little bit desappointed, i was also hoping better things from the album, but there's like 3 or 4 cool songs, the rest ar quite sad with sad intros and sad rythm...kinda depressive songs. i still being a big u2 fan, but better than achtung...never!

  • For the ones who didnt like it or Boots...I pity you all that you cannot embrace the vast dimensions this band possess. Like Pop and Achtung Baby were way way ahead of its time but so astonishing.

U2 RULES FOREVER .... AND EVER

  • I think this song is fantastic... listen to Edges guitar riffs and Bonos vocals are brilliant!!

  • This is even better than the UK performance. Sometimes Bono sings with more energy always sounds good when he does this

  • Yugadesrial, I completely agree with you. I love Acthung Baby and NLOTH ...

After 30 years they'are GRANDISSIMI again!

  • This song is awesome! I mean, if you read lots of really respected critics from Rolling Stone, Source, Q, Spin, NME and others have been reviewing this as the best since Achtung Baby. THose songs you mentioned are great sure as everything U2 does is great. But seriously this album would have been the logical follow up to Achtung Baby. Breathe, for example could have been on that album. Unless you dont like Achtung (and who doesnt?) this album is amazing!

  • I think Achtung Baby is an awesome album!!

  • Fuck you to death

  • insane

  • Breathe is sick! Love the hard rock but unknown caller is the best!

  • flat on the breath part

  • naw. fine on the Breathe part. Flat on the NEEEED part

  • ohh, thats what i thought he was saying is breatheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee, sorry ur right.

  • just AWESOME!! love this song and the new album is great!

  • grandissimi!

    Album magnificent!

    I'm very satisfied!

  • I love this song! Great!

(i just don't understand why they first published "get on your boots" - i think there are a lot of better songs on the album)
