i played the first and i played the last but i never got to get my hands on this gem of a game cuz i never had a game cube sux... seen videos of it i perfer SSBB and SSB64 more
this game was my childhood. i played it ALL the time with my cousins, and we almost always went to onett, so this song makes me wanna tear up every time :3
erm maybe z or L then lol, i just remember holding one of those buttons as you select the stage and not letting go until you're on the stage kicking ass
@KHfanguy Well it added more than twice as many characters and stages. Introduced the adventure mode and all stars, great music and remakes of classic tunes, and it made it as an exclusive feature when you bought the Gamecube in some box sets. It was also a main reason many people purchased a Gamecube. I would call that revolutionary.
@CycoYoshi Something's revolutionary if it's radically different than what came before it. Melee was more the natural progression of an existing concept (the original Smash Bros).
Now, Earthbound was pretty revolutionary among JRPGs because of how many great new ideas it had.
@Snipe694 It may have been a sequel, but its best ideas were totally absent in Mother, like the non-random encounter system and the odometer-esque HP counter. And you'll notice I said it was "pretty revolutionary," not very.
@rcarlson1993 except for how Zelda 2 already had encounters be fought by bumping into enemies and then entering a battle screen? a good 7 years before earthbound? and even if you want to call it "pretty revolutionary" instead of "very revolutionary" sticking your health stat on some wheels that spin is less "radically different" as you described revolutionary being and more "kinda diffrent" or "quirky." pretty isn't as strong as very but still suggests something along the lines of "mostly"

Must resist urge to facepalm. You do know underrated means it's BETTER than what it's rated, right?

@SpontaneousJunk Yeah, you have to hold the L or R button before you select Onett.
Pikafan2132 7 months ago
while this song is good, it's definitely not the fighting type of music..........

I don't think melee provided the ability to control the rarity of certain songs playing.. am I right?
Baryonyx89 11 months ago 2
@Baryonyx89 You need to have every player hold R and L while entering a stage.

It was alway so surprising to hear the secret song on a stage without doing anything. Thats what i missed about melee, turning to Brawl,

Get this theme in onnet
When you select a level, press the L or R button before it loads. Maybe, if youre lucky itll have this music instead of the basic one.
FangxKandyForever 2 years ago 3

@stuwee3 Hard not to know about this, I mean it completely revolutionized the Smash series.

@CycoYoshi The Mother games are unknown, not Melee.

@stuwee3 Oh whoops. Well I certainly agree with you there. I'm surprised they haven't done anything with the series in so long.

@CycoYoshi Dat WiiU. That's their focus. And just as they have in the past, they will release a game for it shortly after the WiiU is available.

The first SSB was revolutionary though
but Melee rocked none the less

@Snipe694 umm this is from Mother 1, which was made in 1991. Yes, I know it says Mother 2 but this is the overworld music when Ninten has no partner.
