  • there is no 13:21

  • METALLIC BOND IN HIGHSCHOOL hahaha!!

  • this is soooo helpful with midterms!

  • this is how i study for my chem final after not paying attention for a whole semester! loll

  • How long did you spend revising for the bonding test?

13 minutes and 22 seconds PRECISELY.

  • hahahaha metallic bond... you might like my music then, check some out would ya, just click me

  • just so you know, it's 5:50 in the mornin.. im truckin on this so thank you so much

  • Snape doesn't even know this

  • I'm sure "these guys just want to offload" is innuendo.... :L

  • does the larger number of electrons in an atom make it have a higher electronegativity?

also, can someone please tell me why in the H2O reaction, why the hydrogen atoms bond with the oxygen rather than eachother?

  • Quite simple GCSE stuff but, whilst I got high grades at GCSE, this, as simple as it is always seemed to baffle me. But I totally get it now.

  • Brillant

  • I just turned 13 , but u rocked my world dude

  • @goldensilverstar metal band... haha

  • whats a mettalic bond in high scool?

  • FUCKING CUNTS BE GRATEFUL

  • its kinda esy to understand little more practice and im good

  • lol i think he pronounce chrolride wrong

  • i learned this stuuf in physical science this stuff is not to hard to understand

  • OH MY GOD I LOVE YOU!!! I need to save your channel. Anytime I get confused I come to you! I think chem is so cool but then I get lost WOOO HOO this is awesome!

  • I wish my chemistry teacher was Walter White from breaking bad

  • I love the color cordnation

  • Thank you SO MUCH!!!

I was so confused and was about to have a panic attack... =__='

But you explained so clearly, so again, thank you! :D

  • While I understand that you can only do so much in a 13 minute video, there is some information in this video that is outright misleading. For example, while polarity of a bond is necessary for polarity of a molecule, it is not sufficient. Water is polar not only because the O-H bond is polar, but because of how those bonds are arranged in three dimensions. The C-H bond in methane is polar because of the electronegativity difference between C and H. Bu the overall molecule is not polar.

  • wow U spent 13 minutes. on a topic that we did in class for 3 weeks and I understand better ur teaching style better than my teacher inthe three weeks in class

  • Mike Roth...I have no quueestions

  • Napunta ka dito dahil sa First On-Line Activity ni Sir Catalan. XD XD

  • THUMBS UP IF YOU'RE IN MR GROSSER'S CLASS!!!!!!

  • oh your method is so much easier thanks so much.

  • i think i am the only one here who is watching these videos without being a chemistry student or at school. Im doing an eng lit degree but i love science so much and i really want to understand some of it, and thanks to these videos i do a little bit (surprisingly). I think if anyone knew that i try to learn a bit of chem in my spare time they would think i was a right loser lol!

  • Comment removed

  • i can do science now

  • 6:45 surprised face lol

  • THUMBS UP IF YOUR IN MRS. CANON'S OR MRS. HERMSDORF'S CLASS

  • he drew the lewis dot wrong

  • This helped ALOT!! thankyou!

  • i was in a metallic bond in high school. LOL

  • i was in a metallic bond in high school LOLL

  • so helpful .

  • FUCK CHEMISTRY !!!

  • This was so helpful - I wish I would have watched it sooner!

  • Thankyou so much this really cleared up covalent bonding for me . Your a legend !!!!!!!!!!!

  • Mr Huysing... GRRR

  • good job!

  • thank u ... I really dont need to go school.

  • my cemistry teacher is a qualified loyer....

  • thank you, great videos, keep doing them.

  • thank you for this video i can now really relate when my teacher is discussing in front .. hmp , can i request another video . can you make another video that's about formulas and naming of compounds . please pretty please .

  • nice job :)

  • it's funnier with the chemistry now.

  • i had an exam today i just looked at this once GOT AN A+ DUDE UR AWESOME

  • This guy IS my Chemistry class XD

  • thumbs up if you're holding a periodic table and/or trying to do your chem hw =D

  • @levakz

    tryin tooo

    still cant

  • Bond, Ionic Bond.

  • Could you do an example of ionice and covalant bonds? Can you do like an equation and show ushow to distinguish what type of bond it is.

  • OMG, I wanna hug you! ^____^ I'm having fun while learning, thanks so much!

  • Metallic bond lol

  • My book is just a bunch of unvisualized information. But when you see the drawings with the information everything just makes sense. You don't need to use so much effort to consentrate and understand it. In my book i sometimes have to read a line 3 times to get it. I only use my book for memorizing.

This guy is legendary. Thank you!

  • I have a question; why does he say Oxygen has six electrons? I thought the atomic number was the number of protons and electrons.

  • @crazay1113 May I answer answer your question? lolz. we're talking about the valence electron, the electrons in the outermost shell. :DD not just the whole number of electrons in an atom. :D

    hope that helped. :DD

  • @crazay1113 it is the number of protons or electrons

  • "Squishy electron mush" is why metals are malleable. Love it!

  • Probability distribution cloud is my new favourite word.

  • "if atoms didnt stick together th-then we would be a bunch of atoms and this video wouldnt have been produced" :D

  • 12 ppl want 2 be a noble gas

  • wow my teacher spent all class period explaining ionic and covalent bonds

you did it in 10:47 sec. =0 and you made so much more sense than her !!!

  • thanks you're an awsome teaccher

  • Hydrogen can loose electron like metals so Which type of bond hydrogen forms with non metal - Ionic or Covalent Bond ?

  • *And the video wont be produced* :D :D I love this guy :D

  • @kalemayank29 yep :D

  • The blue want to give = guys

The pink want to take = girls

When he changes to the periodic table, everything just turns out naughty

  • this helped a BUNCH! thanx!!!!

  • thank you for the videos!

  • a metallic bond....i.e. metal band..........imagine Khan doing screamo.

  • so the attraction to the electrons in metal is soo strong that it is incredibly hard to pull apart, but apart enough that it can bend?

  • where does electrons goes in metallic bond

  • Lol listen to

    @ 5:15 till @ 5:19

  • @TheSkitOfNYC ROFL you dirty cunt XD nice catch

  • The Ions are happy !!! dude youre so fkin funny!! lol

  • I missed an entire unit of science but still have an exam on the material... This video's a lifesaver! Seriously this is saving me from summer school... My entire science grade is based on this exam!

  • Great Channel

  • We season our food with ionic love?

    I can live with that.

  • what type of glue holds the atom together? must be very very super duper ei?

  • the only ppl who could've disliked this are teachers who know they've failed teaching their students :P

  • "Oh, by the way, now that I've handed you the electron, you're negative, I'm positive, I want to stick to you."

    Story of my life.

  • myy teacher couldnt explain it as good as this video i didnt understand until now.

  • XDD the ending was awesome 'anyways, i'll see u in the next video..'

love the vid!! i hav a test tomorrow and although its not as complicated as this, i think i learnt more things on this vid thn in class... thanks!!! :D

  • AWESOME thank you so much. My chem teacher sucks you saved me!!!!!!!

  • What I do in Chemistry Class

    1. Write down the title of the Lesson

    2. Go to Sleep

    3. Go on Youtube and learn a classworth of information in 13 minutes and 22 seconds

    Thanks alot!

  • @ProHelp2010 haha i do the same thing lol

  • a metallic bond is BRUTAAALLL!!

  • thank you for the vids!

  • Great pace and straight to the point, with a clear voice to match! Thanks, you helped me immensely.

  • This is goodd!

So much better than the dry you tubers that just talk as if theyre reading out of a book

    :D

  • Thanks......A great job!!!

  • thanks! you are like my private teacher lol you help me with my homework a lot

  • great vid. great explanation 2. mke me feel lyk i cud b a chemist or sumn

bt cud do witout sum off the extra (unecessary) chit-chatterin

    BT GREAT JOB!!!!!! :)

  • great video, you helped out tremendously I hope you're a teacher or professor somewhere!

  • You rock! :D I wish you were my teacher!

  • I really wish you were my Chemistry teacher, because my teacher Mr.Paul is a retard

  • @utubeftwbaby im pretty sure my chemistry teacher is a retard too...

  • @ludatelle

    same here fucking dumbass bitch

  • @deadpool971 Well, my teacher is a male so that makes him a manbitch.

  • Do you have a video of Types of Solids as well? please do answer! :)

  • He's Great! Nice and slow is the way to go.

  • readyy for my gcse!!

  • thanks mate i think im ready for my test :)))

  • Hey Sal (or anyone that could please help me)

We had a test today on bonding and a question asked if sodium bromide (NaBr) has a covalent or ionic bond. I put down ionic like you stated in the video and my answer was marked wrong :( I think it should've been right and I've been shouting profanities with my chem teachers name all day. is it not an inonic bond?

  • @feraligatr8 it should be right. i suppose ur chem teacher has marked it wrongly. you see, as sodium(Na) is a metal,on the far left of the periodic table, and whereas bromine(Br) is a non metal, on the far right of the periodic table. ionic bonds only form between a non metal and a metal element. therefore, ur ans is correct and ur teacher is wrong! gratz for outsmarting ur chem teacher~ haha

  • @feraligatr8 o_o bromine and soduim.... it is ionic ~_~

your techer took revenge on you ;D

    ~_~

  • OMG can you imagine Sal in a metal band?

  • I wish you were my chem teacher

  • biology teacher sent us link to this video because we all didnt understand bonds still but now most of us completely understand it after watching this :D

  • omg u taught me math now ur teaching me science

god i freakin looooove u much love from jamaic khan <3

  • I like squishy electron moosh

  • ughh this video is so good! but i sill dont get it! and i have a re-test tomorrow! (im in 8th grade)

  • superb vid man,way better than my teachers

  • This is so ace. I am a science teacher and i just love the sound of this guy's voice. I was listening to it with 808 state radio on Last in the background and it was very very surreal.

  • i was in a metallic bond in highschoool. LMAO.

  • @acedatstube Cool story bro

  • @bethroxy im a chick..

  • @acedatstube dude show some respect, after all he is doing some thing for you for free

  • @samisazerahga i said he makes it sound easier, how is that disrespectful? lol.

  • u make this sound so much easier! how come other teachers make it so much more complicated than it has to be?

  • Wait so the elements under Chlorine also has 7 electrons?

@cuchia01 Very nice comment made me laugh and think too!

  • Awesome vid! :)

  • thank you so much, you have moved my chemistry grade from an F to an A

  • They should refer to the noble gases as the celebrities because everyone wants to be like them!

  • i finally understand what im doing ,even though i hate chem. you have made it so much easyier :) thank you

  • sir, i have a test with the exact same title as this video, and you helped me out alot. i could kiss you on the face slap your ass and buy you a drink for helping me

  • you're amazing

  • Dear Sal,

You make the world a better place. Did you know that? It's true.

    Thank you.

  • @ohjeezxPnicole I totally agree. Sal you are amazing!

  • Great & helpful video,thanks!

  • Thanks for posting. Very helpful, and easy to understand.

  • you are amazing, i love you! haha thank you

  • perfect :)

  • thank goodness for your videos.. i looked like a smart ass in class yesterday because i knew what a polar covalent bond was:) hahahaha but seriously, thank you so much! they have helped me alot :)

  • Cool!

  • Omg man, you are awesome. God bless you for putting your time into these videos.

  • Your videos are AWESOME. Thank you very much!

  • good

  • Ready to pass my mid-term now, thanks so much for your support!!

  • @MegaJJROX

lucky, we don't get a mid term no more : /

  • Ready to pass my mid-term now, thanks so much for your support!!

  • OMG!!! Thank you soooooo MUCH! I may actually pass my BIO class, now! I am putting this video as one of my favorites! THANK YOU!!!!!!!!

  • Didnt think u would talk about poler bond...but u did! Thanks!

  • @SharpShadows Polar bonds are fun. The oxygen prefers 2 hydrogen over another oxygen because the hydrogen is partially cationized due to O2's strong affinity for it's electron which also gives oxygen more of a negative charge. This is why hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) is unstable and breaks down.

  • Your negative, im positive, I wanna stick to you, and then we form table salt.

Lololol I love this guy ^_^

  • ... Ready to season our food. :-)

  • thank you a lot.. your video is very very useful

  • Screw my notes. Thanks bro

  • this is so helpful for my tomorrow biomidterm :)

  • cant the atoms just give away electrons without bonding ?

  • ur very good at writing in paint

  • easy to learn from this guy.

  • useful and thank you!

  • thank you this makes my night

  • so is the electronegativity in a covalent bond the same as a polar covalent bond?

  • This guy sounds like Sulu from star trek lol

  • do you have one for dative covalent bonds?? :D

  • You have no idea how much this helped me. Thanks so much, man. I actually feel confident for my semester final for chemistry, and I probably won't be ground for as long over Winter break. Thanks a billion.

  • Epic, dude, i totally get it now, great help! I didn't get shi', before.

  • thanks a lot. this is a big help for my big test tom.

  • okay im bored good night.

  • fantastic video buddy thanks :)

  • thx

  • Cool

  • i dont care how you try to study this... it is still the most ridiculously boring shit i've ever been exposed to

  • metallic band! oh yeah!

  • u talk to much shzt

  • Share atoms? It's not share electrons?

  • "....and we're ready to season our food"

    great video. thanks!

  • i am also KHAN........... and KHANs are always the best in every thing ....... EVERY ONE HAVE TO ADMIT THAT
