@ Duct1198: they are all nice cameras. I personally own a Canon 5d mark ii and a buddy of mine owns a NIKON d700 and comparing images straight out of the box the Canon has nicer and warmer color, video mode, higher megapixel. However, the NIKON has more focus point and faster fps.

Best thing to do is take a test drive in them and make your decision from there. Hold it, smell it, kiss it, and which is best.

Hi Gordon, I'm planning to buy a new camera in a few weeks, I mostly do weddings and some food photography for advertisements in Restaurants and Supermarkets. I was planning to buy a 7D and a 24-105L, but someone suggested me to buy a 17-55 IS USM. I really love the 5D MII, but is it "much better" than the 7D? I dont do sports or anything fancy... @digitalportugal The image quality is better on the 5D2, but the build, speed and AF is better on the 7D. Please check out my 7D review at cameralabs . com as I compared their quality there. As for lenses, if you want a shallow depth-of-field to blur backgrounds, the best general-purpose zooms would be the 17-55 f2.8 or the 24-70 f2.8, depending on which range is more useful to you; note the 17-55 won't work on the 5D2. @staone1 ISO is the sensitivity of the sensor to light. The bigger the number, the more sensitive the sensor. Yes, this camera has continuous shot. If you are still learning about photography, do not buy this camera. It's very expensive to begin with. You can get Canon T2i (500D) or Nikon D5100. They are cheaper and newer with all the functions of high-end cameras like 5D Mark II.

@staone1 Yes Canon 550D is an excellent camera for both still photography and recording videos. Well what you have is a high-end point&shoot camera. No P&S, even the most expensive one, can produce images like DSLR cameras. They have much better sensors and the quality of DSLR lenses are way better than those on P&S cameras. Get Canon 550D+kit lens+a prime lens (maybe EF 50mm f1.8 II) and you'll learn a lot about photography in a very short time.

@staone1 you are welcome. in my first comment, i made a very small mistake. Canon T2i is also known as Canon 550D. Canon T1i is known as Canon 500D and Canon T3i is Canon 600D. So T1i=500D, T2i=550D, T3i=660D. Go with Canon T2i/550D because it's much better than the other two cameras. Good luck. :)

As far as the web quality is concerned, it's quite okay but it suks on TV. Plz help me out. I'll be very very grateful.

@99sukhi88 mate you're using a flash at that point as well right? what's happening is the shutters are divided into two halfs - a top and a bottom half, and they don't open at exactly the same time.. so when your shutter is set higher than 1/200 the shutters aren't open long enough to capture all the flash so you're catching black bits. shoot lower than 1/200 and you should be fine =]
