  • Best live performance I've ever seen

  • THIS IS BAD ASS! thank you thank you - when metal was the bomb

  • Ryche needs to seriously issue this on DVD.

  • Damn, he did this, as a closing song. That is some serious vocal power. Half the musicians of today dont even come close to starting as strong as he ends

  • One of the best bands ever. PERIOD!

  • 3:25 he just made my ears explode

  • Fuck of retard

  • THE greatest live performance of any band. They need to put this on DVD!

  • what the hell happened to these guys. i cant hardly listen to their new stuff

  • This is one of the earliest examples of speed metal . I think this band and Metal Church and Accept changed everything . Can't forget Priest and Maiden ,

  • I remember getting this EP around this time ( graduated in 84) and thinking this blew Fastway and Quiet Riot out of the water.

  • who the hell goes and dislikes a Queensryche video? Specially when it's a song from their prime.

  • Hail From Greece

  • holy shit ......unreal vocals on this ....seen them back in the day ...shame that chris left the band ...he was such a great guitarist ...they are just not the same without him ......none the less one of my all time favorite bands

  • quueensrcyhe , with queen of the reich , still on eof my fave songs , what can i say ROCK ON!!!

  • I think I said this already, but I will say it again: Chris DeGarmo WAS Queensryche. After he left, they died. Much respect to Geoff Tate, one of the best vocalists ever, regardless of genre.

  • @tseekr379 . The best Queensryche WAS Geoff Tate. When he lost his voice Queensryche died. Just listen Hear in the new Frontier all the songs were composed by De Garmo and surely it was the worst album in the band's history.

The process begun after Operation Mindcrime recording. You can watch videos from 1988 where Tate is smoking like a beast.

  • @danyelmor Good point. But you must admit, DeGarmo was a tasty bastard and his departure was a huge loss for them. By tasty, I mean his style and even some of the notes he chose to play in his solos were just different, totally unique. Either way, Geoff and Chris MADE Queensryche for me. Plus, Wilton and DeGarmo made for one of the best guitar duos ever, again, regardless of genre.

  • @tseekr379. Yes, you are right. The good taste was the most distinctive feature over other progressive metal bands and it was possible thanks to, besides Tate, the work of the tandem De Garmo - Wilton and also Rockenfield - Jackson in the rhythm section.

In his prime QR, was a perfectly balanced combination of talents and usually any imbalance in this perfection results in a irrecoverable lost.

  • this is epic, everything is over 9000 in this. God, to see a show like this today will be rare.

  • Warlock3B Thanks for the post of the concert. Thoroughly enjoyed it and did thousands of other QUEENSRYCHE fans!!!

  • wow, geoff sounds epic in this.

  • When he begins to sing "In the dead of night" I get literal chills throughout my entire body. One of the genuine thoroughbred voices in all of music. There a no more than maybe 3 or 4 other vocalists who even compare to Geoff. I fucking love this band. What I would give to see them play with DeGarmo again, I never got to.

  • I always, have my jaw to the fucking floor when I hear his voice on this song. To think of what they're releasing now compared to this. Wow, how the mighty have fallen indeed

  • @laithlaith91 its called getting older bra. this is unquestionably one of the SICKEST Ryche song ever.

  • @nycje going from melodic 80s metal to making half assed pop rock music with lyrics about the internet is called getting older?? then damn, I dont wanna get older at all if thats the case lol

  • @laithlaith91 Touche.. just saw them on their 30th anniv tour and they played something from all their albums. ROCKED - they love what they do and they try and reinvent themselves each time they put something out. Sure this Dedicated is not what I expected but hey I listened to American Soldier a ton. Still put it on all the time 2 years later. Either way we'll always have those older gems and i wouldn't be shocked if they one day put something out that blows our minds again.... Ryche on.

  • The drummer is a fuckin' BEAST !!!

  • this simply KICKS YOUR ASS!!!!! BRILLIANT!!!!

  • OMGAWD,Geoff Tate's SCREAMS on this tune, could PEEL PAINT right off the freakin WALLS in your room!! YES!!!!!!!!

  • Prolly his best concert ever. Yes.

  • Jams. Geoff Tate high tone screeeeeeeams ftw! Wowser what a voice.Thanks.

  • Coisa linda de se ver! :)

  • Christ people chill out. If people don't like this who cares? I'm here to listen to Geoff scream my ears off. Am I alone? Don't feed the trolls and they'll move on.

  • This is an example of a band on it's full power!!! Everyone is giving their max and the result is only contributing to them giving even more performance!!! Astonishing, serves as an example for any musician! Rock on!

  • Fucking Geoff Tate ROCKS!

  • Going ot see these guys in Cleveland. General admission at the HOB? wouldn't miss it for the world!

  • Some of the fuckers on this board don't deserve to carry the title "metalhead" and thus don't deserve to listen to this gem.

    Geoff's greatest live performance. Period.

  • @SuperCasper1994 I agree. Instead of calling themselves metalheads maybe meatheads!

  • @melk1971 Retardheads would be more appropriate.

There's no forgiveness in dissing Dickinson, Halford, Dio, or any other singer who has changed our lives.

  • @SuperCasper1994 you are not kidding,,,if you were old enough to have seen these guys from queen of the ryche-operation mindcrime,,they mist out on some awesome concerts.....awwww how awesome the metal was in the 80's

  • @jdu6 I know, I know... :(

I just wish I was born earlier.

  • @SuperCasper1994 Agreed!!! shread!!!

  • @SuperCasper1994 take hold of the flame, second.

  • @SuperCasper1994 I disagree i think Take Hold Of The Flame from this same show was much better :-P

  • @DavidKinner It was close enough. :)

  • classic 80`s heavy metal: extremely melodic, well played, tasteful, talented above all things. Listen to the twin guitar solo - just great!

  • my dad says my mom was 6 months pregnant when they where in this concert. i was on my way

  • the only reason a person hates gays is because that person can't handle the thought that someone might find out that he's gay.

even though his hate towards gays is an obvious sign.

which is why he loves watching a singer who can't sing, and just jumps around.

and only gay guys call people bitches.

  • IM Rob halford im gay like wrecking queer is i sing with a cheesy outdated voice in falsetto as well

  • halford sings in pure falsetto you are such a punk ass bitch

  • ok ok wrecking queer yeah ok keep knocking Bruce u pussy best singer that ever lived who doesnt sing in falsetto and sound like a retarded bitch!

  • what did you say wrecking pussy you like a gay singer and im the fag you fucking pussy u wouldnt be saying that shit to my face in real life you internet warrior pussy tough behind a computer Your making fun of Dickinson the best fucking singer in the world and Michael Kiske fuck you and fuck Halford!!!!

  • @omnadrener i called you a faggot because you ARE one.

hating Halford for being gay makes you gay.

you only like Dick-in-son because he jumps around like a fucken clown.

the only way to keep you entertained with your small monkey like attention span.

his voice is so horrible like an old fuck-tard like you.

  • im a disgrace because i dont like Halford a gay guy who sings in Falsetto Wrecking you piece of shit you dont know what metal is if it slapped you upside the head

  • @omnadrener you couldn't even reach my head, your face would be near my cock you gay hating faggot.

what you got against gays? tryna compensate for something?

    Kiske and Dickinson fucken suck!

  • i dont like Halford but dickinson,Kiske and Tate I love!~

  • @omnadrener then you're a disgrace to metal-kind.

  • 4:10 It belongs queen of the PRIDE ! LOL

  • I love Ed!

  • great song !!! pure heavy metal....great music.....

  • Ho-ly shit, talk about kickass wailing and nailing *_* They tore this song up! <3

  • Geoff Tate can sing like a motherfucker. Wow. Simply amazing, especially for a live performance. Now, If I can just invent time travel......

  • if this is actually live i may shit myself

  • Watch the vocal cover of this by Unflexablegrace, he nails it even better I think.

  • that high note is simply insane...one of the most incredible i've ever heard in rock n roll. the song as whole is simply amazing, knocks me off my feet

  • Fantasticos ,Increibles ,Alucinantes ..............todo lo que diga es poco

  • ¡Fantasticos!

  • great performance on the drums!

  • THIS IS AWESOME! sounds exactly like the studio track!

  • TOTAL GREAT the Sound is Like from The Studioalbum. Yeeahhh !!! \m/

  • Progressive Queensryche, like "Operation:Mindcrime" kicks ass. This heavy one just rips it off, leaving you dead.

  • @ZelgadissGreywords

    ...What?

  • classic; /watch?v=vZOJMcCABKg

  • The solo is fucking awesome!! The whole song is awesome!! \m/

  • This song rocks! Jeff Tate's voice is sexy magical.

  • classic, /watch?v=vZOJMcCABKg

  • You know, there was a time when i felt embarrassed that i used to head bang, and that all the guitar posing was cheesy,, but consider now that pop artist don't even have to perform to a real audience on their own. Instead, it's all about posing in front of a camera- MTV style. And when you have to really perform in front of a crowd, the rappers and R&B are left scratching their balls or relying on Big choreograph productions. Here is 5 guys on a stage kicking ass! That's the real deal! QR Rocks!

  • @TheMonkeyMedicine what about erica adams huh

  • classic

  • Queensryche AAA+++ just an amazing band!!! Perfection on those days...not matter studio or live... same great amazing shit!!!

  • Unbelievably excellent!!

  • LO MEJOR DEL HIJO DE PUTA MUNDO AAAARRRGGGHHHHHHH THE FUCKING VOCALS IS THE BEST IN THIS SHITY WORLD... QUEENSRYCHE.......

  • damn it! hes so damn awesome!

if nowadays you can find a singer that matches Tate i'll give you a million bucks!

    he's a GOD!

  • @jorpbyngwiefan Will Shaw(Username Unflexablegrace here,) Daniel Gildenlöw, I think Roy Khan is the best but his style is WAY different (Although it was identical in the 90s)

  • @jorpbyngwiefan I second that lissening tohis voice made me realize""that there must be a GOD""

  • fuckin excellent performance

  • so youi have`nt done your homework, or you have no clue what an octive range is. and i noticed you have no list of ALL the others with such a range........ axl goes lower than tate, and just as high, and there are many who go high , and many who go low, but not both. so close the porn window, and do a bit of home work before you run your neck again.

  • @LAA2361 Hansi Kursch; Bb1-A5 some say C#6 and it wouldn't surprise me, Matt Barlow; about the same, Rob Halford; D2 ish to C#6 ish, Billy Gibbons actually (i was surprised) like B0 (it's debatable where vocal fry starts and ends)- about G5, Daniel Gildenlow ; A1-A5, There are plenty more. Check out joxow's channel. I personally have 4 octaves and a third on a good day. I may post a video eventually...

  • only 2 in rock have 4 octave; axl and geoff, love them both!

  • @LAA2361 axl rose does not hhave a 4 octave vocal range. There are lots of metal singers who had 4 octave ranges

  • @LAA2361 agree with you on the love them both part , but there are more singers in rock with 4 octave ranges : ian gillan , chris cornell, freddie mercury, rob halford, warrel dane( check out the sanctuary era i think he has a 6 octave range)and i think there are more

  • WoW Wow WOW saw them in 83 in a club in Boston wish I was old enough to really appreciate just how awsome they were live

  • Geoff Tate = METAL GOD #1! But crap sound

  • fucking brilliant. Chris De Garmo was a one the best metal guitar players ever. What a line up, what a prime for metal!

  • God I wish Queensryche was still like this..

  • God he had a set of pipes back then...Tate, Halford, Dickinson, Dio...the Four Horsemen of Metal vocalists

  • @withintemptation73 I think you are forgetting Eric Adams that dude was fucking AMAZING!

  • @DavidKinner Shit yeah...my bad...was, and IS an amazing vocalist...Adams live is a thing to behold

  • @withintemptation73 Yea he is an amazing singer. He can do it all.

  • what a great post! Thanks!

  • 2 Justin Bibier fans click on "disliked".

  • lip synching ftw

  • @RyanTF2

    Fuck you

  • @NoShelter15 he's an amazing singer but they way he lip syncs sometimes annoys me. Youre an idiot for not noticing :)

  • 3:25 best thing that has ever happened on this planet

  • Heavy Metal 101 begins right here. Classic performance. Best dual-lead guitar solor ever (short & sweet, but full of powerful flavor). Great timing on Geoff's microphone twirls too. Whoever it was that decided to film this concert was brilliant!

  • pure 100% american power metal at it,s finest,

and those twin leads at 2:37 fuckin rule

  • the 1 person who disliked soul will be taken from under by the Gueen of the Reiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiich!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • top ten dude get a life , more like top three

  • One of the Top 10 Metal songs ever!

  • Geoff's a magician XD

  • Sounds to good to be live!

  • @kt3399

    believe me it's live

i can hear errors in the drumwork

  • Que buen tema loco! Saludos desde Argentina!!!

  • best band ever to rock! best vocals and not to mention, that badass drummer by the name of rockinfield!!! tht guy can out drum jesus if he was a drummer lmao!

  • it just brings me two my knees each time i hear it ....................... simply wow or awesome isnt enough , i wish i could of seen them live in the 80's

  • This should be remastered and preserved for the generations to come. He is truly one of the greatest voices of all time, both male and female.

  • @Bursayu I believe this live in tokyo has been added to the 'queens of the reich' ep

  • love this song!!!..First song i ever heard live!!..i was 8 years old..and they opened for KISS!!..Geoffs note at the begining of the song blew me out my seat!!.Lucky a big dude was behind me and caught me!!..lol

  • why cant this be on the radio :(

  • ROB HALFORD + BRUCE DICKINSON + MICHAEL KISKE = GEOFF TATE

  • @jarheadts ELVIS PRESLEY+BRUCE DICKINSON+GEOFF TATE=MICHAEL KISKE

  • @jarheadts + eric adams + robert plant

  • @jarheadts Bruce Dickinson can out sing these guys today, he is the only one that aged well with his voice. At out of all the most recent live shows i have seen with Priest, Halford, Queensryche, Maiden, Dickinson sounded the best in my opinion. I don't know anything about Michael Kiske. I have to give him a listen.

  • @jarheadts it is ridiculous

  • @jarheadts king diamond crushes all of them

  • @wasp3451 he does not. king diamond sings in falsetto. tate sings in full voice. PWNED

  • @PurpleHat1991 I am getting so sick of some of these people that have no idea what Falsetto is. I actually had some guy trying to argue before saying that Bruce Dickinson, Rob Halford, Eric Adams, Geoff Tate, Axl Rose, Michael Kiske, Jon Oliva, and Russ Allen are all nothing but falsetto users.

  • @DavidKinner Yeah that's fucking ridiculous- it can get confusing with Halford, Tate and Kiske because they can bridge the gap so well, but the difference between Russell Allen's head voice and falsetto is very obvious.

They're both very beautiful registers but some people really need to do their research.

  • @Maddolis I know so many people actually believe every high note by Russell Allen is falsetto. Another guy I know believes the whole style of metal screaming is all falsetto no matter who does it.

  • @jarheadts and olaf hayer and micheal grant.

  • @jarheadts And the Second Law Of Queensryche: Tipton/Downing+Murray/Smith+Hansen = Wilton/DeGarmo

  • @jarheadts thats a bit much but ye geoff voice is sick

  • @ 45 seconds. To me, Geoff Tate proves that he is the most awesome male vocolist on the planet. Would love it if QR would record an albumn like this one in 2011 or 2012. I miss them.

  • YOU'RE FAAADING AWAAAAAAYYYYY!!!!

  • ~SMOKIN HOT~

  • only one ''dislike'' That man better proteck his neck very well...what a fag'.anyway da' song is awesome, geoff is just very good singer..

  • high energy rock !!!! geoff tate is awesome!!!

  • Man, early Queensryche will always be one of the GREATEST bands for me! This kicks some serious ass! Geoff's voice RULES!!!

  • Damn almost blew out my computer speakers!

  • queensryche busted tokyo.

  • wat a powerful voice, unbelievable!

  • BADASS!!! ^_^

  • Geoff Tate has so much energy here, he really feels the music when he performs.

  • Too bad there isnt a love button

    cuz i loved it.

    Awesome live performance and band.

  • one ofthe best (ever)

  • who the fuck pressed the dislike button?

  • It sucks that bands don't put out good music like this anymore. I used to get so excited waiting for a new album. Now bands have no talent or awesome guitar riffs. My 10 year old son loves my music. There is hope!!!

  • I still have it at an old video tape. I still love old Queensryche. greets from Serbia

  • GREAT SONG GREAT PREFORMANCE!!

  • I remember when they did 1988 New Year's eve show at Mercer Arena Seattle. They opened with this song..damn,that was a loud&killer show!

  • man tate's voice! he's definitely the best singer of all time, no doubt. What a voice, jesus fuckin christ.

  • @Flaggius He's definitely one of the best, but for me, THE best singer of all time is the late, great Freddie Mercury. What a beautiful amazing voice he had!

  • I love the Japenses as well - they love their metal

  • 3:23 is the highest I've ever heard Tate. Anybody heard higher? I've been listening since 1985.

  • @MurtaghLaw Listen to "Blinded".

  • Goddamn, I love the Japanese. These fuckers rock harder than any other culture on EARTH as far as I am concerned, If it weren't for these great people we wouldn't still have some of the truly awesome bands we still have. These people pay Queensryche's rent!!! Love this band.

  • @alteredlame666

Yeah man well said, the Japanese are metal!

  • Amazing singer. These performances seem so much better than anything post '88, but I guess that happens. Also, in my headphones, this song sounds really heavy for '85, as the drums are mixed up a bit loud. I prefer it this way.

  • you should see the goosebumps on my arms FUCKING HELL this rocks

  • fak this song rock as hell /m/

  • It's a live recording. Listen to other recordings of Queensryche from this era. He sounds good even today, although his voice has gotten a bit deeper with age. Queensryche is one of the best vocal metal bands, in league with Maiden and Priest.

  • Live voice? It seems not. So perfect. Sorry, that's playback.
