It is true that many Greek Cypriots did not want union with Greece and they were targeted by EOKA activists. Members of the Greek Cypriot Communisy Party were also killed in packs by EOKA.

As I state in my previous post the Republic of Cyprus was for both Turkish Cypriots and Greek Cypriots. Why would the Turks choose to invade what they have a right to? What were the Greek Cypriots doing that made the Turks choose to invade? Also when the Republic of Cyprus was founded it was the only right Greeks had to Cyprus for over three hundred years the British practically gave you rights to Cyprus and you call them thieves. Look at what I have already said (i) Cyprus was conquered by the Ottomans in 1571, (ii) after WW1 Cyprus became under British rule, due to the 1923 treaty of Lausanne which marked the end of any notion of any legitimate Turkishclaim to Cyprus.
So from 1571-1923 Cyprus was totally under Turkish rule.
The British rule lasted until 1960 and Cyprus then became an independent state. So from 1923-1960 Cyprus was totally under British rule.
When Cyprus became an independent state a foundation for the Republic of Cyprus by the Turkish Cypriot and Greek Cypriot communities was created. Now I know that you have not researched the details that happened between 1963-1974 like I asked. Instead I shall ask you this if the Republic of Cyprus was for both Turkish Cypriot’s and Greek Cypriot’s then why would the Turks have to invade. I direct that question to all Greeks and urge them to find a truthful answer.

For a while Turkish and Greek Cypriots were happy under British rule. However it was the objective of EOKA to drive the British out of the land and integrate the island to Greece. At this point I would ask some of you to do some research.

The "boom" in the north started with Annan plan where the first say in property disputes in case of a treaty goes to the person that made the greater investment. e.g. a house worth of 5 built on a land worth of 1. So most of the Greek properties in the north would be held in Turkish hands but the Annan plan did not work out and the "Boom" came to an end shortly after the Orams case. Many constructions are still unfinished and unsold and without permit.

The best reading would be Clerides "My disposition" or the memoirs by Makarios (Makarios and Clerides were on priority list to be killed by the Greek junta). A few Greek Orthodox priests can tell you good stories. They were ordered by EOKA to bury Greek Cypriot boys who were still breathing.

There are a few honest Greek Cypriot researchers - they describe Greek Cypriot crimes in detail.

It is true that many Greek Cypriots did not want union with Greece and they were targeted by EOKA activists. Members of the Greek Cypriot Communisy Party were also killed in packs by EOKA.
The bottomline is Greek Cypriots caused the division of the island. Rather than perpetuate hatred toward Turks and Turkish Cypriots, Greek Cypriots must sort out themselves first.

I love Northern Cyprus.
It is the most peaceful corner on earth one can imagine. I am delighted that after years of persecutions by EOKA gangsters and Greek mobs, the Turkish Cypriots can leave in peace and can share their wonderful corner of the island with all the visiotrs.
It's a pity a lot of Turkish property was stolen or destroyed by the Greeks. Turkish Cypriot lands and houses are gone but all Turkish Cypriots need is peace and security. And they have it! Thanks Turkey for that.

Look at what I have already said (i) Cyprus was conquered by the Ottomans in 1571, (ii) after WW1 Cyprus became under British rule, due to the 1923 treaty of Lausanne which marked the end of any notion of any legitimate Turkishclaim to Cyprus.
So from 1571-1923 Cyprus was totally under Turkish rule.
The British rule lasted until 1960 and Cyprus then became an independent state. So from 1923-1960 Cyprus was totally under British rule.

Cyprus was conquered by the Ottomans in 1571, and leased to the British in 1878. After WW1 Cyprus became under British rule, and in 1923 the treaty of Lausanne marked the end of any notion of a legitimate Turkish claim to Cyprus. For a while Turkish and Greek Cypriots were happy under British rule. However it was the objective of EOKA to drive the British out of the land and integrate the island to Greece. At this point I would ask some of you to do some research.

The "boom" in the north started with Annan plan where the first say in property disputes in case of a treaty goes to the person that made the greater investment. e.g. a house worth of 5 built on a land worth of 1. So most of the Greek properties in the north would be held in Turkish hands but the Annan plan did not work out and the "Boom" came to an end shortly after the Orams case. Many constructions are still unfinished and unsold and without permit.
