It is more likely that the character 'Zoot' is based upon legendary tenor saxophone player, Zoot Sims

@MoonEyes2k Yes I totally can see this. I just remembered my dad and aunt telling me how Henson liked him so much he wanted to name his Muppet after him. So as a child every time I watched the Muppet's they would point out and say, "there's uncle Zoot." So thanks for the correction.
