I really don't understand why many people think these are disney (besides ccbb) They lack the disney magic - which isn't a bad thing. The Prince of Egypt is one of my favorite movies of all time!
I think it's the animaton thing. Disney has been synanomus with animation since early on in the medium. It wasn't until Warner Bros. and Bugs Bunny that people realized Disney didn't do every piece of animation. So I think whenever people saw a piece of animation that looked interesting or tough..they thought it was Disney. Good point!
I liked some of your choices. I love Prince of Egypt. FernGulley is good to. I don't know if there's anyone that hasn't seen Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. Some other ones I would have had though are: Anastasia, Quest for Camelot, and The Road to El Dorado but this is your list. Nice video!
I'm glad you liked this...I was going to put Anastasia on there, but it got bumped. I totally forgot about Road to El Dorado....lol. Great movie though.
Man, you were right on with this list! All of these movies have a Disney quality to them for sure. One reason why some people may think these are Disney movies is because An American Tail, All Dogs Go to Heaven, and The Iron Giant have all been shown on the Disney channel plenty of times over the past 10 years or so. So Disney has paid for the rights to at least play them on their channel so it would be easy for people to mistake them as Disney made. Good idea for a video!
Also, I am sure that one of my YouTube user friends would like this video a lot. And that friend happens to be IconMatthew1 (aka Matthew Robinson). Matthew would love this video because The Iron Giant, All Dogs Go To Heaven, and The Prince of Egypt were also on his list of his Top 30 animated movies of all-time.
Wow! I am extremely impressed that No.1 favorite Non-Disney Disney movie is Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. After all, I really love that movie as well because I have seen it loads of times and to make things even better, I have Chitty Chitty Bang Bang on VHS and DVD.
Secret of Nimh is one of the best animated films of all time and Don Bluths best work hands down the only movie close is the first Land Before Time. Rock a Doodle is not better then Nimh. I highly recommend you watch Little Nemo Adventures in Slumberland another brilliant animated film.
