Saving or deverting your money away from the banks is becoming more and more difficult to do. You can't go anyplace anymore without either being tempted or requiired to use a CC. Getting ahead is not supposed to happen for the middle class. We are paying federal, state, sales, gas, capital gain, utilities, phone, late fees, interest , speeding tickets, vehicle registration, required insurance are essentially TAXES that we all pay..like it or not. Can this change? Not as long as you are asleep.

Basically, start living within your means and make sure you budget for savings, but you sure as hell don't have to use banks to live. If everybody did this, house prices would be reasonable and affordable, since no one would be buying unless they had the full amount in cash. Now just think how that would work!

this is all right but it's all gone too far, you just can NOT not have a bank account nowadays. to get your salary payement, you need it, to get a medical assurance, you need it. you almost cannot book a hotel room if you don't have a plastic card
