  • Chris walks away, the sun goes down, he takes away the day and is gone.

  • 2)The same goes for marriage btwn a man and a woman. That is why the Church does not allow divorce. A man divorcing his wife b/c he's no longer in love with his wife, or b/c he's bored, tired, suffering, etc. is the same thing as these ex priest and ex nun are doing. They are not remaining faithful to their vocations and their vows.

  • @canhvanglangoc52

Where did Jesus ever say that those who followed HIM had to give up marriage. Matthew 19 says that some are called to marriage, some to celibacy and some as eunuchs.

He is talking to his disciples. So who says they have to be celibate to serve God this way. Only a male heirarch of men.

Because at one time priests, bishops and Popes were married, right to the 13th century.

Either GOD changed or the CHURCH changed. Which is it?

  • 1) living a consecrated life in the religious community, the priests, sisters, brothers, and nuns are themselves in love with and are married to Christ and his Church. After professing your vows you are to remain faithful to it, it is a marriage in the eyes of God.

  • Regardless of the views about celibacy, Katie bought into the notion that there is a connection between that and pedophilia. In reality pedophiles are sick people! Celibacy can't MAKE anyone harm children. A sick, twisted mindset would lead a man to violate a child's innocence.

  • If nuns are allowed to marry they are no longer nuns. Celibacy is a part of religious life....poverty, chastity and obedience.

  • OMG 2 people had sex and this man was created. OMG it is an abomination!

  • This is horrible, she makes it sound like there are less priests and in consecrated life because there were less people entering preisthood and religous life in that era. Not because they all left.

  • There IS a shortage of priests today. Just a month ago the bishop in my Diocese had to close 4 churches due to lack of vocation. This is why the church is coming under fire. Many believe that we will continue to have a shortage of priests if the pope does not abolish the policy of mandatory celibacy.
