I have the same one last 5 years and have no problems--same powermoor engine ect. Clean and empty gas at end of each season and always starts first pull in Fall. Dont believe all these negative comments as most likely they dont take care of them
@KraytonMC1980 Oh uh, well... It's alright. I had to rebuild the carb this fall, and the pull start/rewind assembly. It's alright, but I would definitely recommend looking at an Ariens or Toro unit first.
Good luck finding engine parts for that powermore. I don't mean wheels, belt or augers which are available im talking carb, throttle, stuff thats on the engine. You will wait a mighty long time for it to arrive. Thats what you get for buying a cheap blower .You will be lucky if you get 3 years of service out of it then throw it away or salvage it and buy a domestic product. They are not worth fixing because the whole engine is junk will run rougher and rougher. Take one apart and see yourself.
Well, it took much, much searching... Turns out its NOT tecumseh after all. Its a MTD "powermore" engine, which Im assuming is built in china, so you were right SEM.
You might be right, I cant find an engine model # anywhere. And I just checked the oil, and water has been getting in- its white and gunky at the top of the filler tube. Gonna change the oil tomorrow.
Thats not a Tecumseh engine, its a Chinese made engine Craftsman started using. Hard starting when warm could be a valve or carb issue, and the surging is likely a carb issue (out of adjustment).

Tecumseh does make an engine similar in appearance to that one, however with the model number the manufacture can be determined for sure.

No because I saw the same engine on a Cub Cadet (they are the exact same blower as a matter of fact) and It said clearly, "Tecumseh" on the label.
