  • Mr. Snow whatta ya know about pepper (sauce) vinegar? lol! I am going to learn how to make it the way my grandma use to! I just need to get a 1/5th (empty) Hennessy bottle from someone who drinks ! lol! this will be my new favorite Kale green recipe Thanks! look forward to viewing all of your other vids!

  • Hey, nice recipe. thanks.

  • Hard to watch you leaving your rubber spatula directly on the heat surface (?)

  • I just cook 'em the Dutch way: Together with potatoes for 30 minutes. Then mash it all together. It's the national winterdish of the Netherlands called stamppot (mashpot)! Smoked sausage goes great with it.

  • Cooking 45 minutes is overkill, kale can be steamed in 4 minutes and its a lot healthier that way, maintains enzymes when not over cooked. Best way to eat kale is raw, look on youtube for 'raw kale salad' for delicious ways to prepare it raw, allowing it to maintain all the living enzymes and lifeforce

  • this is true , however dark leafy greens are more digestible when cooked longer although you are totally correct about nutritional content.

Raw food is a wonderful thing and I try hard to include as much raw food into my family's diet as possible. While you ans I might like it cooked less, the majority of people would get terrible gas and stink up the youtube community,,,we cant have that now can we?

  • yeah i was totally expecting him to say 5 minutes, i was blown away by the 45 minutes. I just went out and bought kale for it's ridiculous nutritional value. Was trying to find a way to cook it. But raw is fine too, i eat salad, a huge salad with tons of ingredients, guess i could just throw kale in it too.

  • ChefKeith's way is probably quite tasty, but I have found the ideal way to cook it for my preference, try this method you will love it: put an inch or two of water in a pot, break the Kale off the stem and put in the pot, then bring the water to a boil. The very second the water starts to boil remove the Kale immediately, its bright green and the perfect consistency. A few drops of tamari sauce is a great compliment. They key is to have to kale in the water before you turn the heat on. Enjoy!

  • thank you :) appreciate that.

  • ya they need more time to cook and make them fully digestible...there is always next time...thanks for watching!

  • @maha77 All the "enzymes" get digested by acids in your stomach.

  • @maha77 I'm sure if someone wanted to eat a raw kale salad then they would look up raw kale salad. I also prefer kale raw, but not everyone does. thats why he made this video....you dummy

  • I like the fact that it is simple to cook and really healthy to eat, I am used to cooking dark greens with lentils, I wonder how kale would taste with lentils cooked in pressure cooker?

  • kewl.. cro magnon veggies.. LOL!

  • i have never used shallots in cooking.. arent they the same as garlic and onions?

  • Same family, but from what I've heard it's the missing link between the two.
