  • @asmodeus272 Yes, Good music at that. You are a pathetic racist. No wonder you are filled with hate! You need prayer, because you are Hell bound, my friend. Find God. We are all One RACE! The Human Race! =P

  • @hpdelight You are so ignorant, you can't even write without using four letter words. I realize you are not educated, but Open Your Mind! This i beautiful music, give it a chance, Hater!

  • 1:25 Ooooh Germany! Oohhh Germany! :D

  • Cut the racism out, this song is about the celebration of one's own culture, not the hatred of other cultures.

  • @cannibalcorpse135 A decent educated individual who listens to the music and doesn't care what color their skin is. :D

  • Noonga pride

  • @lukegranger89

I respect the way you so concisely summarized the status-quo.

You made me laugh and cry at the same time.

  • @77magenta Are you that afraid of people who have a different color of skin than you do? Why? WE are God's creatures put here to see if we can get along as One Race, The HUMAN RACE, moron!

  • I want to see more music like this, it is so good to have australian rock classics with the original australians and thier language, it has a certain tribal/rock mix absolutely love Yothu Yindi.

  • Love it, love Australia my country

  • I loved this in the 1990's as a kid, made me appreciate aboriginal culture more.. I always would think they were saying "humphrey" at the beginning like humphrey B bear! LOL

  • I was recommended this band by a linguistics textbook, out of all things in the world!

  • Legendary aussie anthem

  • Much respect....great song i wish more Aboriginals would follow this example

  • @GetFarkedUKunt and you know this because????

  • @angie4josh walk around in any city idiot. Or anywhere near a bottleshop. observe. very simple this really.

  • @GetFarkedUKunt Funny, I've never met a so-called "boong" (disgusting label!) whom I didn't like, and I've met LOTS ... shame I can't say the same for white people. But your ignorance is showing -- Mr Yunupingu is NOT a "boong", I believe he's Gadjuk of the Yolngu, if memory serves, so show some respect you ignorant redneck ... actually no, you'd just be another barrarirri, wawu ŋäpaki, wouldn't you? (what's the matter, is your Yolngu a little rusty?).

  • Comment removed

  • PUFF WHEAT! PUFF WHEAT! PUFF WHEAT!

  • @cigerweed Lol

  • I certainly think I'm not Robinson Coruso either

  • Sounds like "puffed wheat "hey.Cheers, thanks for posting.

  • fuck all you dumb cunt talkin shit like you fuckin know fuck off home ya dawgs

  • This song was on "Bunyip Dreaming" the VHS. I watched it nearly every day in my childhood in the early 90s. Brilliant song reminds me of a brilliant movie.

  • I actually heard this on some pretty bloody mainstream radio IN FUCKING OSLO, NORWAY the other day.. beleive it or not ;))

I work in a capenters workshop but no saws were going at that moment, so I turned up the radio and let the memories take me dancing around the shop while the norwegians looked slightly befuddled and waited confusedly for the next euro-trash electro-pop ditty to pop up

  • @Morthund , great yarn there bruz... 2 deadly!!

  • 15 poor peeps don't like this.. wow :P -Yindi rocks and makes asses shake!!

  • How can young aboriginals be proud of their past, when I see them shirk when songs like this are played, when yuthu yindi left the music scene of australia, a lot of hope for the future of REAL australians left with them.

I'm very proud of this band, fucking awesome mix of traditional and rock.

  • KLASSE 9D! yeah man.

  • I love our Real owners of the land! Fuck all white religious cunts who fucked up these people!

White cunts brought their disease that killed our people and now you white cunts will suffer inya big cities! We can still live off the land; you white cunts couldn't live.

Guess who will die in dream time cunt? You not us! We got fuckin knowledge of the land, you got no knowledge of surviving aye cunt!

  • @Holidats If thats how u feel get out of our cities and stop stealing our tax dollars and scratch your comments in a cave somewhere. But seriously, get sick of people pointing the finger at white people, how can u blame a population largely made up of people who were forced to come to this country, basically "white slaves", convicts with no choice in the matter forced to work to earn their freedom...

  • I feel sorry for Aboriginal people. The Europeans were ironically the real savages.

How can you remove children from their parents to "whiten" them. This is the most disgusting thing I have ever heard.

  • @IpostJesus - exactly what do you think you know about the loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooong history of my people and this land ?

  • @dragontwofish remember you Zimbabweans were able to wrestle your country back from the British and restore her to self-rule, us Kooris don't have that option. And those of us who do try and make the most of our future end up time and again foiled by racial stereotypes and negative attitudes towards us. I see a black man with a broken past, the white man sees a black man with no future. Hard to fight against that kind of oppression of the mind, but we try!

  • looks at the dislikes and thinks to myself...geez whats their problem...nothing to dislike about the song

  • any yuthu yindi songs reminds me of bein at jr an primary school. i love bein a blak fulla aye.

  • Wonderful!

  • even tho im a half cast aboriginal i still love my culture more than anything this song is a bloody great song in makes me haappy

  • @PurplePimp111 Isn't using a term like "half cast" like a Jew using Nazi terminology to describe themselves?

  • @murf69 nah half cast is half white half black

  • @PurplePimp111 I'm aware of that. My problem is with where the term came from. Racist 20th century Australian Government policies designed to eradicate Indigenous Australians. Think about it, "half cast" isn't used to describe anyone else of mixed race. Why Aboriginals?

  • @PurplePimp111 you know what iv never actullay thourght about that smart person i guess we just got stuck with ayy thats pre f*cked ayy

  • Bela canção...genuíno povo australiano..não percam nunca suas tradições...sua cultura...congratulations...from Brazil...

  • I like this song. It makes me proud to be an ethnolinguistic minority!!

I'm Filipino, but my ethnolinguistic group is Visayan!

  • Fuck. I'm blown away by this band. I was mucking around listening to Midnight Oil, then read about them, and came across the name Yothu Yindi. Been studying the Indigenous People since then. It amazes how music can grab me and force me to learn things.. like about Dhakiyarr. I really wanna visit Oz now.

  • I LOVE this song!!!

  • Last night at kareoke in the Northern Territory a Guy sang this hes from East Arnhem and fuck yeh it went off IM PROUD TO BE ABORIGINAL.....

  • @tintax08 Me too <3

  • @tintax08 you should be proud!!!! You come from a great land, the greatest in this world!

  • @tintax08 I wish I had been there!

  • This is so good, proud important and groovy music..

  • Thats the main reason why ABoriginal people are the way they are now because they were deprived of know their own culture. A country cannot grown unless it faces the ugly truth. Australia will never be as Mature as America unless it brakesd off from everything britain and adopt Aboriginals culture and teach their culture.

  • I love this song and the video - well done <3

  • The piano solo from 2:39... where can I find this sheet music?

    Long live the Yolngu

  • isnt it weird how people rould rather argue about cultural differences than talk about what a great song this is?

  • @ThEeMoRoCkEr100 Well said

  • @ThEeMoRoCkEr100

    cannot agree more

Love the music... I love the fact tat the profits from the music went back into the community as well.

  • Its cool that Aboriginal people let the rest of us stay on their island.

  • @jordy39 yeah its as cool as this song. rave it up brother

  • Modern day white Australia seem to forget that until 1973, the white Australia policy was in place. Genocide was committed against the Indigenous people of Australia but it is not viewed that way because the ignorant masses choose to turn a blind eye to the ugly truth that the white colonists of Australia compare to that of Hitler and that this only ended in 1973! People say "Why should we be sorry for something that happened so long ago " because less than 40 years isn't long ago.

  • @niloneske ive had enough of people like you dragging it out. Are we not over this yet?

  • @ThEeMoRoCkEr100 People like me!? How dare you even pretend to know enough about me to judge me! Second of all know we are not over this yet and we never will be. Genocide was committed and we will never forget and we will never be "over this". So next time you feel the urge to bring up your uneducated dribble save it for your self, because no true Australian wants to hear it.

  • @niloneske Dear Sir, not all of us have forgotten, not all of us want to sweep it under a comfortable rug. I'm not personally responsible (too young ~ born in '73 in fact) but I AM sorry ~ more sorry than I could ever express in sufficient or meaningful words. And no, I don't celebrate 'Australia Day' ~ I commemorate and remember Invasion Day. I've marched, written & voted to these ends; and I promise you, my local masses don't get the chance to forget ... it IS viewed that way by ME.

  • millions of Aboriginals gone...

  • @77Tonyz BUT WE'RE STILL HERE 'MATE'

  • he was a great teacher.

  • oi brudda got a cigeret

  • Hmm... i think as a non-indigenous Australian, that people in Australia would be less stressed and have more fun if they adopted more indigenous ways of doing things. I know that I for one take myself far too seriously.

  • the way i see it is this, aboriginal people can go on and blame the white people for as long as they want, but instead of steriotyping it get down to the nitty gritty of it, the english slaughtered the scots , the irish, and countless other ethnic groups on its quest for power. the jews massacre the palastinian, africans massacre other africans, north korea is just about to go to war with the south.racism is an excuse which justifies violence, people can be the same colour to hate with passion.

  • @cobboGHS91 Its not just the masscres and the out breeding of our race or the stolen generation that happened in this 1st world country up untill 40 years ago. its the degradation thats happend here dont forget Aboriginal people faught for this land too in world war 1 and 2. and they still got treated like shit during the war and post war. they were deprived of their own culture and language aswell as Education. The system was designed to fail them and now are the Reprocusions.

  • long live Aboriginia, land of the Aboriginals.

  • Ok this will be a hard pill to swallow but it needs to be said.

1st there is no excuse for the subjugation of native people all over the world. That said if the tables were turned and places like Africa and the Pacific Islands built cities and technology and Europe didn’t, then they would have subjugated Europeans. The truth is that history is littered with fallen civilizations and no-one owns the land. IT OWNS YOU.

Finally let’s build the future not figure out what was wrong with the past.

  • @RasterGraph You might be right but it still sounds self serving.

  • @rotcafarg

Sorry to laugh but of cause it is. If you want to get philosophical then everything everyone does is in some way self serving as a basic human instinct is self preservation.

My point is in the sense that building a strong and prosperous future for all serves me as well. As having a happy populace with a low poverty rate means a decrease in crime and a better living standard for the middle class.

  • Reckless kelly awesome movie

  • I don't want to be Australian I want to be Aboriginal.

  • I love this song :) I am surprised after reading all the comments how its all about politics and descrimination. But I have nothing to feel sorry for and will not apologise for somthing I haven't done. I'll just enjoy the video

  • The music is awesome. Unfortunately the racism that is on here is awful. The sad fact of life is that no matter what culture you are in or from the indigenous people of each continent have been taken advantage of, moved out of their homes, and labeled as ignorant because they do not have the same level of "intelligence" as we do. And what do we do. We give them a substandard level of our "education" to keep them under us. Let go of the Ignorance and realize that we are all one people and equals.

  • As for the music - loved it thank you... Shame there are not more songs from similar bands promoting Aboriginal talent.

  • GiftedPinecone, considering yourself as a white disease is ok but to generalize all "whites" as a such is just as racist as what you are complaining about. Young Aboriginal people are running havoc through Perth streets and no one is keeping them in check. Next time you can not get through to 000 emergency services because the lines are busy ask yourself why. You tube is not the place to air your racist or politic views you stupid fuck.

  • Not only this. Not merge cultures is also a form of racism. Living and giving equal rights, assisting those who are not acclimatised is how we will find for the peaceful an mutual coexistence, but ambition disrupts everything. Ambition... we have to figth it...

  • Love the yellow and ochres in the Beach Corroboree scenes.

  • got to feel that this is a great song to shake it to...perfect song for the sunset

  • Nobody is owner of that land.... just people who came there in different periods... but to make you happy, I like them more than European settlers.

  • Great music....... RIP to the lead singer, a truly inspirational man!

  • In relaity white people are not the real desease....they just got lost in the ways of knowledge and wisdom for centuries....Since We all come from the same ancestors....But Viva Yothu Yindi -They show us the right ways ! Thanx Jose corral -mexico

  • I went on study abroad in Australia and Peter Peterson, our aboriginal guide was the sweetest, smartest man I've ever met. He was so spiritual and believed in his people, and that we can all be friends. We love Peter! And I very much miss the cultures and land that I was a part of for such a brief time.

  • Respond to this video... deadly song thats all i got 2 say

  • this video made me cry today after watching it again. ´

It made me think about and reminded me about who I am and where I came from. I'm very proud of my national identity and the tribe that I identify myself in back in my home country.

    ¡Viva las islas Filipinas!

  • I love tribal music! Espcially from Australia!

greetings from your brother from another monther here in the United States.

  • I think you can see from this video aboriginal culture was quite beautiful before we imposed our cultural expectations on them. Due to their isolation for 50,000 years the process of natural selection that occured in europe due to the harsh competitive societies did not happen. Of course there will be individuals that dont fit our societal "norms". It shouldnt be considered "wrong".

  • good song great story.

  • amaising music. and people. im from bosnia a country in europe and have always felt as something is wrong in our way of life. if mother earth decides to get rid of us she is right. GO NATIVE PEOPLE GO

  • @herrflick69 Amen brother!

  • I swear they are saying "Puffed wheat!!"

  • I lived in Australia for 30 years and moved back to the country that first colonised Australia in 1770. When I was doing history in school I didn't agree with the way the British treated the Aboriginies. All I can say is what goes around comes around as we are being taken over in this country and we will soon loose it just the same as the aboriginies.

  • I love your language and I love your music its original poetry. I hope you get well stay strong man

  • nice song so beutifull and ancient

  • Wow wtf is with all the racism? This song is catchy-as-hell

  • who's racist?! kill em!! we r NOT racist! y talk race? this is a music clip. Yothu Yindi rocks!! i LUUUURRRRRVVVVEEEEE this song, makes me feel so happy =D

  • australia IS aboriginal land if you have a problem with that- get back on ya boat & *uck off!!!!!!!!

  • We are ALL God's children, yes, first through ADAM and EVE, and then later through NOAH and his family, get over the senseless "racism".... please

  • @lukehigley Eh?! Get over the senseless biblical literalism ... please!

  • OCCY in green iguana..... one of the best classic video segment of all times!!!

  • why can't we all just get along jeez.. my grandparents on my dad's side are traditional land owner's out mt. isa way. on my mum's side they're solomon islanders. i have heaps of caucasian friends, and we never let colour get in the way.we're all mates no matter what colour we are.

  • I LOVED this band - wish they were still going. Yothu Yindi RULES!!

  • 感動の一言です。それ以外に言葉は要りません。

  • im doing a biography for a project hes revoloutionary

  • a song from heart !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @vlcalcal87 Bet you never went to university - redneck!

  • @haze555ful well thought out reply there, hate to shut your thoughtless comment down and say i am studying at university.

    shame on you abo.

  • Comment removed

  • Bless these beautiful people...the rednecks that now control Australia will never understand their culture!

  • @haze555ful i agree - i am so ashamed of modern white sentiments in our country.

  • Yothu Yindi, why didn't you continue making music, mate? You're the most prolific Indigenous Australian artist of our time.

    Love you mate.

  • @jakefw mandawuy is very sick with advanced renal failure :(

  • @stolliepoo Living in Wales now i'm very saddened to read this.Such a great man

  • Comment removed

  • I love the Aboriginal people. Ancient culture. Ancient land. The young Aboriginal people should be tought about their beautiful history and share it with the world. Everyone of us has something to contribute.

  • LOVE this song... where are they now? They need to come back...

  • why don't we hear these songs anymore?

  • Why have we forgotton these songs? Feel like dancing! Gagas,Pink ,veronicas rule the music world! what a shame!!

  • WOOOAAAAAAAAAAAH DJAPANA

  • top song pity there are not more groups like this.....

  • Oh wow the theme to Reckless Kelly!

  • everyone do yourself a favor, spend some time with native people!!!! learn what was left out of the history books! a world of knowledge there! open your heart and mind!! you'll be glad you did!!!!!!!

  • Regardless of how you see your insignificant self, we are a filthy disease.

  • The ancient Abbos knew the Truth about life, death and God. Thats why they were so exclueded from everything. that's why racism is encouraged still today... Same happened to mayas, aztecs and so on... all are direct descents of God.

  • The white man shall reap what he has sown. Remember Rome.

  • i haven't heard this song in fucking years, lol when i was a kid i thought they where saying "HUMPHREY" and i always used to sing along "HUMPHREY b. bear" lol

  • Comment removed

  • Red Mud

  • Planet is safe for now Djapana JAH bless

  • The racism on here is fucking mindless....nobody offers a formed opinion. The aborgines are the true owners of this land, us white people are nothing more than a filthy disease. We made the abogines what they are today, our society made their problems, they're not to blame.

  • @GiftedPinecone

Oh I like fellow white men like you, no excuses.

    Blessings to you and yours.

  • Go easy. Racism is certainly is mindless but so is calling all white people a "filthy disease". I don't see myself as a "filthy disease". If you do, that's your business. Idiot.

  • @GiftedPinecone world is an ecosystem in which humans migrate, like the aboriginals too, nobody owns this continent.

ABORIGINALS BELIEVE THAT THE LAND OWNS THEM NOT THEY THE LAND
