It's sad that your director sped up the tempo to the point where the soloist was struggling, and the rest of the choir with her. It's also very disappointing to see members of your choir mocking the soloist. There is some potential with your group, but unfortunately, circumstances make your performance mediocre.
To be perfectly honest, I don't think the alto was 'mocking her', actually singing along with her. A lot of us do it, sometimes our soloists need a little reassurance, it's hardly ever.
That was her first solo, and usually people struggle with their first solo, so it isn't necessarily the tempo, more say nervousness. This was our first performance of the year, so we were all a bit jittery and whatnot.
