I suggest you get into sprint distance triathlons first. You have no idea how intense the ironman distance can be. Move up from sprint distance to olympic distance, then to long distance, then half ironman, then ironman. Good Luck, and do your research before getting in over your head.

Actually, I think they require you to be 18 to do an ironman because they could have some legal issues on their hands if something does indeed happen to you during the race. However, if your parents get involved, they might be able to twist the rules... I am not 100 percent sure though. I am pretty sure you have to be 18 though. Good luck!
