I can tell you what the fuss is barrenelly, your shooting off F, C, Ab, C, Db, I know music too, but if your talking shit on Frank, Your a fucking idiot!
I've seen Paul in concert, he's awesome on stage or on youtube, No, he's not Blue Eyes but no one else was Frank Sinatra but Frank. Paul Anka has a superb voice and is a great entertainer. Kudos Paul ! /applause!
Paul Anka: I met him at a party once, and his kindness and cordiality was nothing less than breath-taking. In my book, they don't come any better.....
In February 1973, Romuald represented France with Laisse-moi le temps in the XIV International Song Festival in Viña del Mar, Chile, where he finished 2nd and got the prize for the Best Singer. Some years later, Paul Anka bought the rights of the song from the authors (Jourdan/Caravelli), composed lyrics in English and gave it to Frank Sinatra, who made it famous all over the world as Let me Try Again.
Great song of his and very nicely performed. Clever chord sequence, the verses in F and the chorus in C, with a detour via Ab to make the change.
But he does shift up a semitone, from C to Db in the last couple of choruses, I reckon he is going for it a bit towards the end! And to my ear it's a lot cleaner than Frank's version (sorry, not a Frank fan, can never hear what the fuss is about). Tammy Jones's is excellent especially her live version, but for me Lena Martell's just shades them all.
Nice rendition, though I expected something to happen to liven it up a bit ....like him shifting key a semi tone or two up from his "comfort zone". He realy has a better voice than this song shows.
Paul Anka é demais... grande compositor!

I love this song but the musical accompaniment is really cheesy. One of Franks smart moves was never to use a canned crappy arrangement.

Paul is a great singer. He's put out alot of fantastic songs. But I must admit I prefer Sinatra's version on this. No hard feeling's Paul.
