So let me Sum up what your argument is, Glenn Beck contradicted himself three times on television and then made a spelling error, therefore it would be a possibility and make sense if he were retarded. It isn't a very solid argument and it doesn't really say anything at all. well if you don't engage a person seriously how do you expect us to move forward as a nation or as a community. Because after all Beck does have a fairly large following and it wouldn't help the greater community if we shut them out. (Granted the fact that I do know that this video wasn't a direct conversation with Beck and the disconnect does leave room for a less serious outlook.)

@jekzinder16 If I honestly thought that anyone in my audience (a) took Beck seriously and (b) would sincerely listen to criticisms that I have and take them to heart, I probably would engage him seriously. But frankly since I don't think those two criteria hold for anyone in my audience, I find my efforts much better spent arming people with humor.

like I said before it is all a puppet act. A puppet act makes more sense than your argument because it explains fact that a person like Beck actually found himself a show on TV. Another good example of this is a Daily Show clip a while ago that had one of the fox news people looking up what a czar was in the dictionary even though she had a degree from a high ranking college. I knew what a Czar was in high school and I imagine her not knowing was just a show she put on.

Fox wants to appeal to an audience of lower intelligence, thus they take in people who are good at PR and lieing, and pretending that they are people they are not and have them act out a character that appeals to the people watching them. He appears to be retarded because that's what fox thinks of their viewers.

Your first example, doesn't really prove anything. it just suggest a possible reasoning. I can do that as well. Perhaps Glen was trying to say something about obama's views on white people but he could not quite find the words or what he meant to say, and thus screwed up. (think about it, isn't it similar to white people who say I'm not a racist but I don't like black people.I think Beck was referring to a level of dislike that made no sense

The US has been fighting it's civil war for 149 years now. Maybe it's time to realise that Abraham Lincoln was wrong and that union is unrealistic. I think it's time to split the US into two countries. Otherwise the war against the north(liberals) and the south(conservatives) will go on for ever. I meet these guys from Australia at a bar in Nicaragua and they thought Beck was a comedian. I burst their bubble when I told him that he was real. The laffed harder and sad no he is a comedian he is on Fox. They also said that the US is going thru a PR problem and we don't help it with sending Fox out over satellites. They eventually said that Beck will be know as the great political comedian of all time. I add that he will not be in on the joke.

Interesting hypothesis. But an alternative is that he is merely careless because he knows his audience is retarded. He can (and does) say any old shit and they're too stupid to catch his contradictions. It's all about getting the audience angry (a lesson he learned from Limbaugh - see watch?v=ELRmgJw8muw for details). You don't need facts or consistency to do that.

If you belive in communism/socialism you have the right to do so. I don't remember Obama running on that platform although him advocating "wealth redistribution" should have been a dead giveaway. Look at socialized health care in the former USSR I belive that is what we will be heading for. I hope for both of us im wrong, but instead of making fun of Glenn beck why not try actually reading the health care bill after the final one comes out of the house and senate see if that is what you wanted.

I gave a scenario why it might be bad hell it may be great I cant see into the future. I am wary of there intentions to take over health care, after looking over the bill in the senate there are alot of new rules regulations for insurance companies and new tax for everyone, and they drop the public option, were is the reform?? How do we have the worst heath outcomes?? Just making up stuff to make a point doesn't prove anything. It makes you sound about as convincing as a Michael Moore film.

Some of that is our own fault - convincing our selves that we can be fat slobs AND healthy. Other fault lies in our health care system which is way too expensive for the care it provides. We waste so much of our health care dollars on administrative waste - navigating the mazes of insurance company reimbursement. I agree with you, we need public option or better - single payer

Clinton started to pay down the debt and then Dubya decided to launch a unilateral war against Iraq. Lack of regulation in the banking industry put the economy in the toilet and voila here we are.

I dont know where you get your facts from Glenn Beck did NOT start the tea party movement he only backs them to support his own agendas. GW Bush did LOTS of spending and DID triple the size of government. Obama broke every campaign promise and only continued Bushes wars, calling them "just" wars and is now preparing to extend the "mission" to Yemen. We should have allowed all failing finical institutions to fail and stayed out of there business. It would have allowed for real recovery.
