  • i swear they used a bliptronic to make the minecraft music

  • This is very cool man! had not seen this yet...a lot of views on this lol. dont forget there is a mono audio to midi interface that was made for guitars but works with anything.

  • @LatigidGolana Thanks! yeah, the Sonuus G2M, you mean? ( Have you used one in person?) Yeah - thought about getting one for various purposes... ( Would review it if they sent me one! hint... ) But haven't had quite enough use for it to buy that instead of a software solution

  • @VJFranzK Thats the piece and no I have not used one but I have seen demo's from the company I usually buy from Sweetwater. They have a YT channel if you wish to check it out. they used it with a theremin and an SH201 in the video I am refering to and they showed several aplications it would be usful for.

  • but wait there's more! ..lol

  • You're a one damn funny guy, my friend!

  • @PhallaohAnkh "What, am I clown? Do I amuse you?" Thanks. ;-) I do try to emphasize that synthesizer music can be fun.

  • And I try to emphasize to our fellow viewers that the synthesizer operator can also be fun. I mean amusing ;)

  • Hi, i've just tried for widi using a simple external synth instead of bliptronic 5000 waiting for similar goals but it does not work.

I armed both channels exactly like you, what's the problem?? thx

  • @ABoyPitch Check every step again? Something must be missing

  • @VJFranzK Finally i got it with my Casio VL-Tone!! I have the evaluation copy and this one mute the sound in for a few seconds... How much cost a full version?? Thx for the support

  • this is awesome!!!

  • Wow, great video! I have a few questions though:

1- Could this work with a Korg monotron? (in a different way, could it serve to synchronize Monotron to an ext. sequencer?)

2- Is there a way to give those drums some shuffle/swing? I mean, is it possible to not have the drums quantized?

3- Does it work with other VST synths, especially polyphonics ones?

Thanks in advance, and keep up the good work (and sorry for spelling mistakes, english is not my native language)!

  • @DjDoobz your english is better than many americans who post here ;-) you cant synch a monotron, but the new MonoTribe? YES! I think it will probably work, will def. post a video. 2. The Bliptronic has no swing, but you could perhaps apply swing quantization in the host program? 3. you should be able to route the output 4. it does do polyphony but im sure it gets more difficult for the app to understand as more simultaneous notes are added. more on this plug in soon!

  • @VJFranzK Thanks for this fast and instructive answer! Well, I'm gonna hava to figure it by myself on the quantization question, but you surely helped a lot, so thanks again! And have a nice day.

Oh, and I subscribed, by the way. Lots of good video.

    ;)

  • @DjDoobz thanks! ;-) It's always better to have intelligent discussion on these videos. Different host apps will handle the quantization differently - in Ableton, which I'm using, you would add a "midi effect" to the chain, I think. General tip: The amount of features on some of these DAWs can get a little daunting in itself! Just focus on the core things you want to do, and go for it.

  • @DjDoobz btw - now see my other video with MonoTron and BlipTronic5000! It can indeed be made to work!

  • Whoo thanks so much! can't wait to get one!!!!

  • @videareen If you like something, give it your full energy. Otherwise, don't waste time.

  • @VJFranzK you have a great radio voice. this is awesome btw. great job

  • Are you using the earphone output on the Bliptronic, or are you using the line level output socket? I really like what you've done, my best mate has a Bliptronic, I played with it yesterday and absolutely loved it, I think it's awesome.

  • I imagine you could do this with much more than just drums, right?

  • Dude, ur a legend! You sound like Mr Kirk, "its life Jim, but not as we know it"... subscribed for more....

  • I should say something a bit more meaningful... ahem. This is a very cool application you've come up with here - it reminds me a little bit of some of the modern "digital vinyl" stuff (for scratching mp3s with a real turntable and a special record) which also uses analysis of analogue sound to drive digital processes - you should check this out if you haven't seen it already. Great video!

  • i cant get the plug in to receive the signals from the bliptronic. i cant hear it' but the stand alone program works fine.

  • @randomisoty422 Make sure the cables are plugged into the right jacks, and make sure your sound input is switched to the "line in", not the "internal microphone" - see the sound>input panel on the "System Preferences" app ( which is the default setting on Macbooks - PC's should be something similar?)

  • @VJFranzK there's no "line in" option there's only "internal microphone". and what are you using to connect the bliptronic to your macbook? all i have right now are the cables that came with it

  • First sounded like a song from team sleep

  • Love it nice info! IF only they had stuck a sd slot on it and gave it s small amount of ram, i wonder how much extra that would cost ?

  • with TS-AudioToMIDI and MIDIOX you can do the same for free! :)

  • @APmad Thats great!

  • @APmad with TS-AudioToMIDI + Loopbe1 also works

  • You are awesome. I was going to sell my bliptronic...think i will try this first! Yes, great voice too. Get a job on NPR and I will listen to you everyday...

  • He sounds like a cross between George Takei and the guy who climbs into his own balloon. As seen at watch?v=QhSD3hmpxa4.

  • @trombone7 Mr Sulu WAS good at operating the flashing lights... connection?

See also my recent video "What is this sound?" for more voices

RE: Balloon Man - that's very strange... There is some voice resemblance, but he reminds me more of Ronald Regan somehow?

  • is this George Tekai?

  • I thought your voice was one from some kind of program at first, haha. :P you have a great accent.

  • I'm pretty confident you could make a career as an announcer, if not the voice of a scientist or superhero in a cartoon. Seriously.

  • @l4mbr3tt4 Thanks! ;-) This IS science, in a way. I have done some cartoon voices, and wish to voice MORE! (hint hint?)

  • @VJFranzK Is any of the cartoons you have done voices for on You Tube? haha...you have an awesome voice! very clear spoken haha

  • @l4mbr3tt4 thanks, I hope so! ;-) Sounds like fun work

  • you're a fu**in' genius, but I don't know how connect bliptronic to ableton, can you realize a tutorial please?

  • Well, thanks a lot. ;-) Isn't the second half "a tutorial" though? What part would you like more detail on?

I don't use Windows much, but I think you'd use "MIDI OX" or something like that to re-route the midi signals from WidiSoft to Ableton?

Will do a more detailed sequel of this soon, when there's time, with some more complicated sounds!

  • I mean all the ableton configurations for in and out, because it doesn't work in my daw

  • i dont understand? how do you connect the out of bliptronic wth the in of abletone? are you using an audio midi adapter? are you using an audio device?

  • audio to midi software as I said, from WidiSoft

  • so you simply use a jack to connect the out of bliptronic with the in of your mac?

  • Yeah, that's right - "line in". In this case I didn't bother to use a USB "audio interface", but you could if you want.

  • dude franz - your idea rocks but your humorous attitude rocks even more...

you go man! two thmbs up!

  • Thanks! It's important to always have a good natured and positive attitude on life.

take yourself seriously, but not TOO seriously ;-) Synths should be FUN

  • Wow Franz! Absolute creative genius!

  • How's the latency on that widisoft translator? I have an old, old version of their audio-to-midi converter and it was decent, but I was always limited by the latency.

  • There is latency (but not unusably so)... made this video quickly so I didn't really bother to measure it. In this case I just turned the "audio in" channel down and mentally compensated.

It must take signifcant processor power to sort out those chords though! I'm still impressed

  • SO NICE THAT YOU SHARED THE SECRET!!

  • Somebody else would have figured it out anyway ;-) so I might as well be the first to get it on YT!

There are all kinds of possibilities here for "advanced blip-ological control"...

So when are you gonna bend one, btw? ;-)
