I take lessons with someone in this band and then stay for the rehearsals. They're a really nice bunch of folks. I can't wait till I get a set of my own!
Y'know I've had this video favourited for a while, and I never commented on how awesome this performance was. Could anyone tell me the names of these tunes?
the opener is D/S Roddy Mclean, the Strathspey is Fiona MacDonald, the Jig is Shady, the Slow Aire is Mists of Time and the two reels are the stabbin' cabin and Mambajahamba.
Decent band. Shame about the early E, the mistakes and the sound on the top hand. Fingerwork is pretty together and the tunes have nice musical expresion though

Wait! Is this at Springfield, Illinois? I'm in the pipe band from Springfield that won these games for grade 5!

It is indeed Springfield, Illinois. How very astute of you... :)

you better take that back, it was an early D! ;-)

Yeah, it was an early D, actually. Also, their seconds were a bit behind in the first tune with layering.
I'm also surprised at their decision to add in Caber Feid to a contest setting.

The band playing caber feidh at the beginning is Invera'an from St. Louis, it was accidentally recorded at the beginning of that segment.

Ah, yes: now I see the difference of uniform (grey versus white shirts, for instance). Thanks.
