yes true, but however if you have a vessel over 35-36ft long and you're not the most skilled boating person this system it's very nice to have. And it does make docking alot easier give a example; the invention of the automobile we have done without it for many many years with trains and horses, camels whatever but but one invention changed the way we look at transport forever and made it possible to go further distances in shorter time
