Someone tries one of those about once every 10 or 12 games, but they usually get pummelled before they get the shot away. Goalies know to look for it too. Anyone puts their stick down flat on the ice gets a swift smack before they can get any kind of shot, unless everyone is too busy worrying about crap to watch the puck...

It is pretty classic, I think a lot of players could pull it off though, but to get that much time behind the net is pretty damn abmormal, and to think that up in the middle of a game, instead of just playing onm instinct, that to me is what makes it a great goal.
