History has taught that cooperative unification of societies, or countries no matter how big the differences has made both halves of the unification stronger together. If you want to make America a stronger country, then we need to combine with other countries to become stronger. Not through domination, but through common goals. That is the way to increase strength for anything, willing cooperation.

The United States of America is already a collection of 50 sovereign countries, it doesn't have to split into 6 pieces. The existence of the Tea Party is allowed by the right to free speech (i.e. they can believe and express whatever they want) and petition/assembly. In fact, they are also protected by the second amendment if they wish to procure arms.
Don't worry, if they become TOO much of a problem, the government will surely take care of them. They did it in Waco, and they can do it again. It is unwise to assume that either side is more justified than the other in its actions, though.

We'll be better off dividing into the smaller countries. Atlantic America could continue it's path down the European Model, while the Southern America could maintain the "Old America's" constitution and beliefs. I wouldn't bank on the European system though, you will see why in the next few decades (see mass third world immigration in a progressive welfare state system) The European countries that rank in the top of the human development index are already beginning their skydive into oblivion

Hell, my state's constitution itself states that "All able bodied citizens 16 and above are able to be counted among the state militia." To break up the United States would weaken ourselves, no matter how you slice it. History has taught that cooperative unification of societies, or countries no matter how big the differences has made both halves of the unification stronger together. If you want to make America a stronger country, then we need to combine with other countries to become stronger. Not through domination, but through common goals. That is the way to increase strength for anything, willing cooperation.

The United States of America is already a collection of 50 sovereign countries, it doesn't have to split into 6 pieces. We formed a union (predecessor to the EU) from the original colonies and when the government collapses from its lack of ability to provide all the goodies you keep pushing for, it will revert to those 50 (nation) states. Comparing America to England or France or almost any other country is a fallacy. May I propose it is more apt to compare the U.S. to the E.U. and the States to European Countries.
If the idea of decreasing the size of the America will increase the standard of living has merit, then why only 4 countries? Why not 50? @nativemrv19722 yeah that's where they lose credibility. their message seems to be a legitimate one, but the fact these people were silent during the Bush admin makes you think twice about their motives. The Ron Paul movement, however, was the only group speaking out about Bush's atrocities and Obama's welfare state.

Btw, I was 11 when Obama was elected and 15 when he was re-elected... But I was against a lot of what Bush did...
But if you opposed Bush's debt, why don't you oppose Obama's?

The federal government caused both the housing bubble and the banking crisis by keeping interest rates too low and encouraging ARMs and mortgage backed securities...
And this President wants to continue this behavior...

If we didn't have the highest corporate tax rate in the world, (depending on what state you're in) and progressive income taxes and regulations that burden small businesses, and unions killing businesses from the inside out, we'd have significantly more jobs... All that is because of the government...

The federal corporate tax rate is 35% and depending on the state you're in, it's several more percentage points on top of that at the state level... It's a fact that GM wen under because they owed money to the UAW Union for every car they sold... It's also a fact that the government places very heavy regulations on businesses... This is why jobs go overseas...

@xadam2dudex You don't understand tax law... These profits were made overseas, not in America... Therefore the foreign countries get the tax revenue... If the business takes a loss, there is nothing to tax... Exxon Mobile took a loss in the US, therefore doesn't pay taxes here... If the tax code were more profitable here, all these loopholes and stuff wouldn't happen, and these companies would employ more people and the US would get more tax revenue... That's why I support the FairTax..

@xadam2dudex If the Fed had raised interest rates like they were supposed to, and discouraged the use of ARMs, then the whole thing would have been avoided... Because the Fed kept them low and actually encouraged ARMs, the banks were encouraged to be greedy by the government...
If the Fed let the free market control interest rates, according to the actual market, we wouldn't be in this mess right now...

I really disagree with this video... With the exception of a few idiots, the Tea Party in general is a peaceful movement... Not a single person at last year's Tea Party protest was arrested and the streets were left clean...
I don't know if any of you remember when Democrats were protesting the war, a lot of them aimed their message at violence against Bush, and depicted him being killed or tortured and stuff like that...

The existence of the Tea Party is allowed by the right to free speech (i.e. they can believe and express whatever they want) and petition/assembly. In fact, they are also protected by the second amendment if they wish to procure arms.
Don't worry, if they become TOO much of a problem, the government will surely take care of them. They did it in Waco, and they can do it again. It is unwise to assume that either side is more justified than the other in its actions, though.

@Xerxes4242 You are simplifying things. Some Americans do believe this, and I do not agree with them. However, the government is not an innocent little lamb either. I don't really know where things will go, but I doubt that the Tea Party will ever be able to achieve its sometimes-radical goals. I was just saying that legally, much of what they are currently doing is protected.
