  • gives me shivers everytime

  • Listen to this song with rainy mood, its fuckin sick

  • I love it when Sage does these types of songs!!

  • hug with no hands,classic.

  • love*

  • This is phenomenal. I remember the first time my brother played me a Sage Francis song; I didn't think much of it. A few months later, I went on YouTube and looked him up. This time I actually took notice of what he was saying, and have fell in live with him. He's more like an Urban Poet than a HipHop artist. This music touches my soul!

  • yeah cunt you hold my gaze, in a picture. what you know

  • @dpg1988 sorry, i also wan to chill with this man, see what he has to actually say for himself..or see what you actually have to say for yourself

  • you are the one who chanched my life. I cant call you god you know why, but in my heart you re near him. Than you, thank your family, thank god that he´d alloud you to do this.....

Thank you for rescue me. You´ll get to heaven....

  • ITS A FAMILY AFFAIR THE VANITY WE SHARE

I jus sit there and let the thougts flood, and I remind myself: “it's all right, it's all good, it's all love”

    It's NOT though!

I could listen to this oveer and over

  • Does anyone know where sage got the instrumental? I heard it from somewhere else before.

  • IT'S NOT THOUGH

  • sage francis sole buck65 pinkfloyd doors and ledzep!

  • Homie intelligent!

  • Intriguing.

  • best part of the movie is this song. it's about doing the wrong thing knowing you do the wrong thing. but instead of stopping it you just stand there, until it's too late.

i think lots of people have been in such situations so: Sage you're not alone.

  • I think this means that even though we see all these terrible things going on, and see a positive outcome to come out of our sitatuation, we dont anything but just "stand there" we dont do anything to change our lives or possible outcomes, and watch it happen as it slips through our subconsious grasp.

  • hip hop is 4 lil kids nowadays rick ross can wipe my ass lil wayne shud donate all his cash drake shud go 2 gay porn gucci is 4 wierd blak ppl n everything else sounds like pop music.......

  • @ustoopidass HIP HOP, real hiphop, is definitely not for fucking kids, and I'm talking about the underground.

  • @TheAsianWorm dats wut i ment..

  • @ustoopidass well you didnt say it mate, just making sure. :)

  • @TheAsianWorm haha my bad my dudes.

  • Calm down, Calm down. Really. No use in discussing who's right or wrong, believe what you think and stand for it on your own or take in consideration what others say. You don't have to follow it, but there is logic, knowledge or meaning in anyones words. Love his music, fine, enjoy it! Listen to it and make of it your own. Music is an expression, it's an art to be enjoyed or disliked, meant to inspire. so, sit down and listen, Relax. So much more meaning to one word maybe you're both right.

  • @Varodunham92

The water line is rising and all we do is stand there...

  • This may be the most beautiful thing in the world

  • All u fucking retards who argue back and forth in comments make me sick.Cant find one video without a buch of idiots talking senseless bullshit like anyone who came to listen to this song cares about your opinions.Fuck Off

  • @khantrax905 DICK!

  • @khantrax905 DICK!

  • I just want to chill with this man... and talk about shit. Is that weird of me to say?

  • @NoAtheistsInFoxholes I want to chill with Lowkey, IT and This dude. Nice username btw. So true.

  • @krunkaintdead69 that username is straight lies.

  • @1234567Aesop mine or his?

  • "Pride and Glory" brought me here ... it's great

  • @OliviaPhynn Really good movie!

  • This is... poetry....

  • everything this man writes is down to earth, and has a point. he is honestly one of the best artist i know.

  • A musket rifel spittin' at my feet

And want me to dance in the middle of the street

And I respect my elders, so I do as I'm told

But I've offset the bell curve when I do it with so LOSIN' CONTROL!

    GUILTY FEET DO HAVE RHYTHM!

They just dance to the wrong theme music to amuse the villian!

  • why argue about sage's work? do you really think he gives a shit if people hate his music? this is what he stands for, the freedom to choose and enjoy what you enjoy, not everyone is an artist at heart and won't get what he's putting out so why would they listen. some people like to shake their asses to a guy talkin about his grill! lol.. TO EACH HIS OWN, EVERYONE EXPERIENCES ART IN THEIR OWN WAY.

  • @dannypounds WISE WORDS SIR

  • stop going on about what is and isn't rap and listen to the song

  • it would be rap 10 years ago, now its underground hip hop and rap is another shit, rap isn't rap anymore.

  • love it

  • deep shit...heard it at the end of the movie Pride and Glory. when the credits were rolling they play this. shits crazy

  • Comment removed

  • @SJBURK ye, watched the movie too and searched for it. awesome song :)

  • It's all right. It's all good. It's all love..

    It's all SAGE!!

  • 27 People are deaf

  • @newjackridi 31 people dont understand english

  • mistrz

  • this dude has mad poetry flowing through his lyrics

  • seriously though.. this is one of the few songs that gives me chills when i hear it... i love it the tone the content and the rhythm

  • If Sage keeps the same style of his and continous to make music like this, their will be no stopping him.

  • i admit i didn't think I'd love him this much

  • I don't consider this rap... I think of it as beautiful poetry over a powerful instrumental. Perfect for the ears of someone who actually listens and cares about the things people say.

  • Why is this is in the Steve Jablonsky mix?!

  • I love finding new artist that inspire me, they seem to appear out of no where.

  • this gets down !!..

  • This is why sage francis will forever be an influence to my music. Its hard for guys to show emotion, and for him to be able jerk tears so easily from such a complicated person like me tells alot about where his heart is.

  • 2 words for this song : Amazing and Reality.

  • I really hate the fact that every one of the non-mainstream rapper's songs is filled with comments bashing the mainstream. Stop it, people, it doesn't make you better than those who like Lil Wayne or Kayne West.

Stop being a bigot and enjoy what you enjoy, and let others enjoy what they enjoy.

  • jay elec bit the fuck out of this song.

  • @IBesTMaN If you are talking about Exhibit A, I would have to respecfully disagree. Sage's flood was metaphorical, speaking about the state of society at large. Jay's flood was quite literal. He's from New Orleans and was in New Orleans when the levees broke. He had to swim in flood waters to safety. "I swam down Shit's Creek and came up clean/ with a new lease on life like Andy Dufrene."

  • the borderline is rising, and all we do is stand there...

  • but this song is too short....wtf

  • Pride and Glory got me here

  • I want this played at my funeral...

  • This is real. this isn't about "bitches and getting paid" no. this is about life. this is about this world we live in. and i like it.

  • this song was from a movie plz somebody remind me what that movie called

  • @brothacman "pride and glory", its in the credits

  • @brothacman Pride and Glory with Colin Farrel and Edward Norton ;-) google - "sage francis" +movie :)

  • @brothacman its Pride and Glory...... its a good cop, bad cop movie

  • Essa música tinha que durar 1h, muito boa!

  • this song gives me chills, i dont know why.

  • Sage should do a duet with Eminem..Epic beyond proportions imaginable. Two of the greats together would be amazing

  • @greekboi59 shut the fuck up nd kill yourself eminem isnt on the same dimension as sage. he dont deserve to bow down to sage

  • @superboy069687 yo asshole, did i say either one is better than the other? You fucking idiot, its people like you that need to do us all a favor and educate themselves..or you know, take their own advice and kill themselves. All i said was the two would be great if they were to do a duo song. Fucker, can't wait till someone in your life can't stand you anymore and kills themselves. Here it comes, epic youtube comment battle. What a joke.

  • @greekboi59 naw what im saying is eminem is whack he could hav been epic if he didnt sell the fuck out. he lets his sponsors nd bitch ass pr people tell him what not to say. eminem was alright when he didnt give a fuck what people thought about him but now he's just a puppet ,running his lyrics by his manager before dropps them as not to offend anybody. sage is raw ,nd when nd if he sells out ill be saying the same shit about him nd just bumpin his old shit but i dont he will ever sell out so...

  • @superboy Pride and Glory

  • guilty feet do have rythm.

  • sage francis and brother ali need to hook up for a song

    best rappers alive

sage, brother ali, zack de la rocha, krayzie bone

  • @DrShakesBALLIN Well said my friend. Well said.

  • Comment removed

  • @DrShakesBALLIN -Perfectly said my friend! I say the same damn thing, time after time! It's such the truth and what r we doin about it? I know I can't change the world all on my own. BUT I can start in my own home with my friends and fam. That is the first step;to practice what we preach! It starts with one person;MYSELF!

  • @DrShakesBALLIN some deep shit, and it's true

  • YEAH F T PING

  • @tredts

    Do you?

    I don't.

  • This song destroys

  • The extended version from the end of the movie is sheer awesomeness. The slow instrumental opening was perfect.

  • Comment removed

  • The only thing I dont like about this song is that its only 2 mins long. I wish it could be like...an hour.

  • I wish this song would last forever. One of the greatest songs I've ever heard!

  • ive listened to a lot of sage's songs...n every1 jus gets betr!

  • Comment removed

  • @tredts Nope. Not at all.

  • Fuck Kanye, Fuck friggin Bow wow and T-Ping , this is Real rap , This is REAL

  • @whythewar1 i agree, although i do like a little of t-pain. he created a smooth style. but nuthin compares to this kind of hip hop

  • @whythewar1 Who the fuck is t-ping?

  • @Baracudaflaps T-pain..sorry. I don't care about him enough to get his name right >.<

  • @whythewar1 If you like this "real" rap, you'll like Immortal Technique

  • @whythewar1 YEAH I FEEL U ON THIS SHIT IS REAL PEOPLE GO THREW THIS EVERYDAY FINALLY I HEAR SOMETHING ACTUALLY GO ABOUT THE WORLD INSTEAD OF MONEY IN BITCHES IN ALL IRREVELVENT SHIT

  • @whythewar1 Did you listen to Kanye's new album? Good God, it's incredible. I understand what you're trying to say here, and I agree with you for the most part. True, genuine rap is hard to find. I do not like Kanye as a person, but I respect his talent and his ability to command the verse like a brush that he paints art with. Don't let me offend you, because I bet we have pretty much the same taste in hip-hop. Just be open to what I'm trying to say, and don't dismiss Kanye. Give MBDTF a listen.

  • @killerwhale8000 Agreed :) huge fan of real rap, but there is no denying Kanye's talents, in rap and also production. Most tracks on the new album are breathtaking. Most people who deny this are trying to ignore everything mainstream..

  • @dranner123

His production is good but i disagree with your saying he's a talented rapper. He used to be good and i still listen to his first two albums but now, he's just mediocre. Better than a lot of mainstream rappers but not great by any stretch of the imagination.

  • @whythewar1 this is not rap lol this is just talking, it has no rythm

  • @kavourakos ur a fuken dumbass shut the fuk up go listen to ur bitch ass bubble gum drake radio shit!

  • @kavourakos Sorry to interrupt, but there is definitely a Rhythm in this.

  • @whythewar1

    neVEr!

  • @whythewar1 This isn't rap at all. Sorry. Wrong genre.

  • @liljc17c No. It's called real music.

  • @whythewar1 naw this isnt even rap, 2pac and Nas are rap- this is much more

  • @dembears85 This is up there with Bukowski and Ginsberg.

  • @whythewar1 yeah

  • I just sit there, and let the thoughts flood

And I remind myself it's all right, it's all good

It's all love, it's not though

Cuz there's a kink in the armor

A pot hole I'm sinkin' in, the more I think of the drama

So I stand up, I start to pace in my living room

Set my eye to the highway, knowin' that I'll play chicken soon

  • this song is just sick as

  • If you like Sage, make sure you check out my video. I do hip hop with banjo's and guitars...check it out, whitty, ruthless lyrics

  • 22 people don't like the truth lol

  • how many times can u listen to a 2 minute flurry of hard cutting words spit out in the most amazing way. im on 12... this and hoofprints in the sand are monumental. too bad 95 percent of people can not comprehend what is being said but everyone should give a listen. sage buddy keep it up man. mainstream rappers can only dream of putting as much heart and meaning into their music as u bro

  • Comment removed

  • amazing. articulate, deep, profound. so much better than that pop music bullshit

  • @moodini99 Fuck Pop Music

  • this should be longer

  • you are amazing!

  • After listening to this song many times over the years. The lyric "When the levee broke, how many choked on the steps of a slow dance" Finally just recently clicked into my head that, that is about Hurricane Katrina. I'm slow. XD

  • I'm bout to jump from waterline video to waterline video... follow if you like :)

  • wow one intense dude crossing genre's with his insight into the current environment of apathy we all live in. Everyone is afraid to damage their lives and hurt loved ones so everyone lets someone else deal with the problems they see and this has become an epidemic. Just like in Pride and Glory the movie......I love political punk and 80's rap and RnB for its politically charged point of view and this guy has it. I see Chuck D interviewed him that's cool I definitely will watch that..

  • this could and should be at least 6 minutes long. feels like a beat is about to drop and then it ends. its not fair

  • i can listen to this all day.

  • did anyone watch pride and glory it has this song playing at the end credits.

  • @Inev8able reason why i love this song so much my all time favorite movie

  • Can anyone give me any more songs like this for sage francis?? for example sea line and the cure the calm smooth ones. Anyone please i'd appreciate it.

  • @SoulandDreams11

    Escape artist for sure

  • @SoulandDreams11

    sage francis.goats.edan.mf doom,

  • Sage "paul" Francis : #1

  • thinking about the world...

the waterline is rising and all we do is stand there...

its about nature gives us life, but we all destroy it.

the waterlins is rising and all we do is nothing.

  • true @pissantparade but look how overrated this is life is pointless? get me theres nothing here to do then enjoy it now when you come into the world you realize that there are a couple of things to do. taking care of the world true, and most things we cant shange by ourselves we need people of power to change it unless people unite. many fucked up things are happening but peopple dont give a fuck they sit theyre and let it happen or cant do shit about it but who would?

  • I think the meaning behind this song is about the end of the world. At first I thought it was about gang violence but, then again it could be. The lyrics could mean several different things to numerous people. Bullying, GANG VIOLENCE, the end of the world. I, personally, think he's trying to tell us that we're being ungrateful for our surroundings. And I very much agree with him. We never know, the end of the world could be tomorrow, or the next day.

  • an island bt yourself! east coast

  • great song, awesome words, jus wish it was longer

  • love this song. so powerful.

  • he raps similar to mf doom except he has more emotion to his tune

  • WOW ....... every track I listen to ... sets me into a speachless MODE !!

  • Did a remix for the contest through Mark Isham's site under the name "Soundguy". Really liked working with this track. Incredible lyrics.

  • One of the best lyricist, hands down! This is incredible! GENIUS!

  • These lyrics are sick, but why he dont try to stay on tempo and break his lines down into bars this hip hop but alternative guess

  • this is so beautiful. the music accompanies the lyrics perfectly. seriously dramatic moving stuff. there is no way this could be heard as background music anywhere, it just completely traps me everytime i hear it. i just become still and listen.

  • Wow....this is incredible

  • In love with this song. Love his lyrics, and how they have a REAL meaning. He's not talking about fucking bitches, and making money, he's talking about HIS life and what's going on in this world. Songs' like these need to be known, and remembered. Thank you Sage Francis.

  • when he says "guilty feet do have rythm they just dance to the wrong theme music to amuse the villian" he is implying thateven bad people have good reasons for what they do we just ddont understand cause we have not been through what they have so hes basically saying they do make since we just dont understand because our lives are different

  • Comment removed

  • Mark Isham kills it...Sage is a lucky man to work such talent. I would love to see an entire album produced by Mr. Isham...

  • just think about it

  • 22 idiots dislike this. go fck yourselves

  • slammmmm

  • Glad I watched the movie Pride and Glory. They played this song during the credits, and I was so impressed by how powerful the lyrics were that I had to look up the artist. I really like it.

  • Comment removed

  • Could someone please explain

    "Guilty feet do have rhythm

They just dance to the wrong theme music to amuse the villian"

    Thanks

  • @mydarcia just think about it

  • @mydarcia when sage says "guilty feet do have rythym they just dance to the wrong theme music to amuse the villian" hes saying bad people have reasons for things they do and he explains that they are misunderstood and rejected by society because they are different because we do not understand what they went through

  • Sage is contagious.

  • Pure Poetry... I love music because songs of these..

  • This song just calms me down

  • beautiful and inspiring....this song gave me a lot

  • just finish 2 watch the movie PRIDE and GLORY n there is no better soundtrack then this one... And SilentLyrics hi agree 100% with ur coment! big up 4 this righter(Sage Francis)

  • Damn this is chilling

  • He sounds like Brother Ali...Good, none the less

  • @Bo6us I prefer sage over Ali. I don't like Ali's flow.

  • @Bo6us sounds better than

  • That movie is awesome lol...... I love music like this..... I love poetry in general =]

  • Gooooooood song.... awesome movie..! Pride and Glory, I mean....

  • This song... after the scene in Pride And Glory with Collin Farrel... "JIMMY NO! - Tell 'em I love 'em..."... just incredible...
