hey youre not the one saving these animals so why do you care what mary spends her time saving? an animal is an animal no matter how big or small atleast shes helping something other than just talking shit thru youtube
You're an awesome person for having the heart and dedication needed to hand-rear this baby mouse. Most people would have ignored the poor thing or HOOKED IT UP TO A CAR BATTERY TO WATCH IT FRY.
hello, im raising a baby field mouse and (if he lives, he is olny a pinky, and my first try to raise a baby mouse) when he gets big, can i release him? will his instincts help him find food and know how to live in the wilderness? just wondering. BTW for the people reading this and thinking "how could you take a baby wild mouse and raise it thats cruel!" well i saved him the mom was killed and he was the only one alive. just getting that clear :D thanks!!
Aw, so adorable, Mary! I have rescued many wild baby rats in my time, and when they make it, it is the most rewarding feeling ever. Some went back to the wild; a few remained in my care (one ran laps around his cage till I let him back in - NOT thrilled about life in the wild!) What a big heart you must have. I know how much patience this takes.
@wowdirtsA Oh god people like you seriously piss me off to no end. I can think its what ever the fuck I want it to be its my fucking mind N00BLET. Other than that enjoy your day.
Mary, I envy you! What a perfect "job" you have there! I wish I could work along your side; it seems like passing a life nurturing animals back to health is a treasured one!
I like how people think the right ate itself. No people, it means that it's his first time to eat by himself with out Mary feeding it with a eye dropper thingy.
My cat brought in a field mouse,it was a baby,I fed it bread coated with milk, boy how it opened it's mouth wide to bite on the bread, then we released it once it was healthy and calmed down.
I have a pet field mouse and two voles- presents from my cats. They've done very well in captivity and will eat from your hand. All three run together on the hamster wheel.
I caught a field mouse in my room once. it was not a house mouse, it was a feild mouse, I do know the difference. I nursed it back to health as it had been snacking on a few chocolates and other things I had in a bookbag. After I fully nursed it back to health I let it free and let it pick if it wanted to be a part of the wild or stay with me and be fed and given lots of water. it chose wild and I am glad I got to help it. dunno if it lived or not but it made its choice.
@ILIKESFLAN I'm not acting like a Jewish cunt and I've already said I don't drink piss and I don't want to, you got a head like a sieve man! By the way are you like 10? 11? you sound stupidly immature.
And me bend over? Listen buddy, I don't care if you're gay but I'm not so please, keep what you do in your spare time, to yourself.
I remember as a child...finding a baby mouse right beside a mouse trap with it's dead mother in it. I felt so bad for the orphaned mouse, so I took it to my mom to ask about what I should do with it. She told me it probably had rabies, took it outside, put it on the porch and quickly ended it's life by smacking it with a stone. Since that day, I never looked at my mom the same way again.
@Mandy7D7 He was released back to the wild in Malibu in the exact field where he was found. He was very wild by then biting the &*^% out of me any chance he got.
LOL! I'm glad I'm not the only one who's done this! My husband bought a new motor for his boat and there was a nest in it - no Mama... I ended up dropper feeding the little peanuts umteen times a day... Finally eating real food (seed, apple, berries) and getting chubby. I have to admit - the 'flea stage' was really fun! They are crazy! They are now unable to escape from their cage - can't tell you how many times I woke up with them crawling on me!
hey im kind of new to caring for young mice. I found a baby one today at work (hardware store) and the manager wanted me to get rid of it. Its a baby so i didnt want to toss him so i brought him home. Im trying to feed him the Esbilac puppy formula i just got at the petstore. If he doesn't want to eat, is there something i am doing wrong? thanks.
thats funny, some robo hamsters do look like this but funnier, in a cute way. petsmart carries them, all kinds of cute hamsters!! super funny and cute!
oh how cute. i found a juvinille mouse in my room cause my cat was chasing it and i have no idea where she came from cause my room is on the second floor. anyway i have her in a bug container with shredded up paper towels and water and seeds. shes really tiny and i dont know when to let her go cause its really cold out right now
Sometimes captive mice feel there is not enough food, resources, room for more mice. They may then eat their young. @MaryCummins Good advise.
Since this was born in a cage it is OK but to take a animal which was free and cage it may not be the right thing.
If someone caged you, feed you good and was kind to you I bet you would still want to be let go.
