  • is that stock !!! my car is stock doesnt run that fast :P

  • @ScorpiosBite1 actually 2000 honda civic si's runs from 0-60 7.20 seconds

  • @ScorpiosBite1 actually 2000 civic si's run 0-60 in 7 seconds lol and yes 16 sec quarter if all stock unless i/h/e...

  • @MrXiongmaster actually, ive seen best of 15.5 with an all stock 99-00 Si at the track.

  • Nice pullin civic and great shifting!

  • @JEFFMM71 thank you :D

  • Nice shifting that was perfect.

  • @Vapor419 thank you sir glad someone noticed

  • I/H/E, Test pipe, Type R cams, tuned.

  • @lugnuts28 nope :)

  • @arthurx333

    more or less?

  • @lugnuts28 less..

  • Seems pretty slow compared to my honda del slow!!

  • @HondaDelSlow well no shit you got a type r engine

  • I don't care about this guys car doesn't help me or affect me in any way, whether it was fast or not you all are some fucking haters.. lmao

  • i tune myself, i see the curves in fuel cell 1-16. i graph it out across rpm band and torque call on transmission. But, again what would you know youre praising a speed run on a grocery getter and trying to defend it to the grave like a fanboi. well know fact a lot of 4s just dont get gas mileage now adays. look at the subaru 2.5. even the Americans are crushing mpg race with their own cars..

  • @Model192 by the way i know what youre talking about you mess with the computer and shit. but i dont understand this..why the fuk would you buy a fukin 5.7 if youre gonna mess with it and try and make it more fuel efficient?? get a cavalier if you want 30 mpg haaah. the Lt1 was built for fun, let your car do what it was built for.

  • @arthurx333 Those are nearly stock settings. If you can run a bigger cam and turn it down for highway driving I don't see what the problem is when you're making bigger HP/Torque regardless. The only things you tune for performance are the deceleration cells and the power enrichment cell. There are 16 cells. See, you still have NO idea what you're talking about :P Also I didn't spend a bunch of money to save 2mpg. Cheap performance gains.

  • @Model192 so youre saying youre making your car more fuel effiicent and raising hp at the same time? youre a genious i wonder why GM didnt think of those things.

  • @arthurx333 Take account of variables. 1. manifolds are used instead of headers to save money. 2. stock fuel trims are always conservative. 3. computer-created cams which were previously unable to be made and tested are now made and tested. You used to have to buy a 300 series gen1 cam for the LT1 engines but then the 500FI series cams for fuel injection came. 4. injection molded intakes are made to save money. 5. Bosch gen3 injectors are better than 90s MULTEC for atomization.

    Anything else?

  • @arthurx333 Oh yeah, intake and head interior surfaces are also rough from the factory, and unpolished on the inside to save money.

  • @Model192 could be. but dont all those things you named cost money? i mean new technology comes out every year but youre not gonna tune your old car just get a newer one.

  • @arthurx333 But again, even if you put those items on a car like a Corvette it's still better than stock. Why? Because manufacturing costs. They still make manifolds instead of headers because they can be done by machines, they still make injection molded plastic parts. Cams are better, and so are injectors, but those aren't costly and are worthy upgrades on any platform. Tune, headers, and cai on a Corvette will make 30mpg also. It is what it is.

  • @arthurx333 The LT1 platform bolts into anything from the 1960s on up because it's a Gen1, even though its coupled with an OBDII computer. It's sought after as the platform to upgrade TO, not upgrade FROM. The iron block and the heads are fantastic.

  • @Model192 iron block is the best thats true. its worth the weight.

  • see previous comments. 93 octane, 14.6:1 and 27deg or more btdc, wide open egr on headers = mpg. old v8 ran 0deg all the time and was spd density not maf and got 27. i like how you guys are trying to tell me about my car and American cars when you havent laid a hand on them.

  • the 3000gt is good only if its a vr4 cuz it doesnt look good enough for non turbo, i wanted one earlier but i heard the engine isnt that good so i didnt get one. you would have to find one thats under around 70k miles in order to safely drive it hard. no offence to you who own that car, that goes for any booster car over 10 years old.

  • why does there always have to be someone who says their car is faster or better. i made this video and im telling you this i love hondas my first love, but i also like mustangs and camaros and gtos for their rwd and sound, as well as supras cuz that car is just a beautiful tunable nice sounding beast that i hope one day to own. and not to forget the 68-70 charger, challenger, camaro, cuda. and even evos stis for their sound and 4wd fun. each car has something good about it.

  • Not bad.

  • Getting groceries at the same speed as full sized sedans

    exciting.

  • @Model192 at half the cost, half the gas, half the engine, and twice the fun :)

  • @arthurx333 Half the gas and half the cost? Certainly not. My 5.7L V8 gets 30 on the highway.

  • @Model192 your new charger? 300c? camaro? my ass 30. 25mpg max unless youre slipstreaming then yea 35mpg

  • @arthurx333

    LMAO. slipstreaming..

  • @arthurx333 Modded LT1 Trans Am. The headers, injectors, tune, ignition, new sensors, and head work really brought the MPG up.

  • @arthurx333 No shit......Really!!!! Like a wise man said...."it is not a lie, if you truly beleive it"....LOL!

  • @mlke4258 lmao yea what he said. the header, injectors, tune, ignition, sensors? haha ok MAYBE by half an mpg MAYBE. the head work probably brought DOWN your mpg who knows what you did to it.

  • @Model192 Yup...alright....my 3.8L V6 gets 26 at best on the highway. I got a 6.8L Triton V10 that gets about 10mpg on the highway. I know a big hill where I can get it up to 95mpg's......if the hill was long enough. Unless it is hybrid....I don't beleive that for a minute. I got a friend of mine that constantly lies about what good gas mileage he gets out of his 04 outback....50mpg's....Put another quarter in the lie slot...both of you! My stock 99 EX gets between 33-38mpg's. Honestly...

  • @mlke4258 How the HELL are you only getting 26 highway? I took a 600 mile trip to Michigan with cruise control on @ 70mph (best MPG marked on the speedo, 55mph) in a fucking 89 IROC with problems and got 26.5. I live at sea level, you must live in I don't know where the fuck land to get mileage like that.

  • You don't want to believe it? Good for you bro. The LT1/LS1 computers are stout computing machines that run between 12:1 and 14.6:1 depending on heat, highway, torque demand, etc. Good engineering.

  • @Model192 the camaro/firebird 5.7L is a gas chuging goblin. none the less fun car. BUT, its no stout computing machine, just a big american gas hungry engine with torque, not a 30 mpg 1.5L civic.

  • @arthurx333 The 5.7L LT1 and LS1 institute on-the-go fuel curve changing and ignition timing changes to save fuel. Again, between 12:1 and 14.6:1 fuel ratio, and spark timing is much different. 93 octane with plenty of BTDC. Don't be mad.

  • @Model192 unless 4 cylinders shut off on the freeway your 5.7L mpg gets 27mpg MAX going 55mph. period.

  • @arthurx333 Period? Wow, sounds like you know engineering, fuel curves, cams, and have specific knowledge on this subject and how bolt ons affect Gen1 motors!

  • @Model192 enlighten me then genious

  • @Model192 redneck too ignorant of course

  • @Model192 you wonder why people think Americans are so stupid...

  • After driving and owning a Mitsu 3000gt. I can never drive a civic again, even if it's the 2012 model. I have my reasons. :D 3000gt>Civic si.

  • Comment removed

  • @godrilla

well people have their tastes, i would never own a n/a 3000gt. They look aggresive, but thats all they do. Not to mention theyre heavy as hell, pretty bad on mpg. I took down my friends 3000, 67k miles on a new engine, and i left him by almost 2 cars, in my dc2.

  • @elhummerdeoax 3000gt is heavy yes, but the one you beat was either the SOHC model or had a shitty driver. My 91 3kgt SL (non turbo) pulled pretty fucking hard for how heavy it was

  • @godrilla

you are clearly fucking retarded. i have owned a 3000gt VR4 mind you. and i own a 2000 si b16a with mods.

and i have never been happier. the vr4's are pile of shits. worst engine block Mitsubishi could have picked up

all those things are is money pits. my 2000 si could blow it out of the water. with 1/4 of the cost.

  • @nakedwomenarecool LOL. Did I anger you with my comment? Fuckin' uneducated people..

  • @nakedwomenarecool Fuck your civic. Civics are for people who can't take care of their cars. No wonder your VR4 was a piece of shit. My VR4 120k and running strong only had to do the 60k maintenance and change a few minor things other than that. You have no clue about cars so fuck off NIGGER.

I have a civic si too, and i beat the shit out of it.

  • @3sPilot You are the fucking retard. enjoy your piece of shit vr4. my SI is flawless not a scratch on it. figures you would beat he shit out of it because you are to involved in your ricer boy fantasy to drive like a normal person. 120k miles oh my god! thats soooo much. have fun at 140 when your turbo's go.

  • @nakedwomenarecool lol if not earlier

  • @3sPilot read comment above

  • @arthurx333 i know i read. you think its running strong and then pop goes the weasel turbo

  • my ford focus st does 0-60 in 7.2 yay! hahaha

  • That shit pulls hard with just a CAI..your compression must've been high..if not still legit..

You sure it doesnt have any internals built that you dont know about? nice tho.

  • @tyxium thanks man. ye the car was only running for 2 years before it was in storage for 5 years. the tags on it were 2002 i picked it up it was in a garage with a bunch of other cars in 2008 so that might be something to do with good internals

  • @arthurx333

Your welcome bud. Yeah man that was a nice car you had there. I just got a legit 01 dc2 with 94k miles and trust me, its not as fast as this, even though i powershifted the first 2 also, respectable ride you got there!

  • @tyxium i thought it had cams too haha i dont think so no

  • Damn that SI sounds like it hits hard fast...for stock

  • i got 5.9-6.0 seconds.

  • that's actually not that bad.. :] good job

  • 0-60 7 seconds-ish pretty good.

  • How in the hell is that stock? It's pulling hard as FUCK

  • it's ok man, mines just as slow.

  • @killercd4g63 lol record a video and compare

  • @arthurx333 not a problem, I'll get on the autobahn this weekend. You can see some of my videos with my gopro Hd camera on my page.

  • @killercd4g63i was 16 in this vid. could be slow compared to the bmw and porshes flying by you but for a little 1.6 liter engine that can hit 140 stock is well impressive.think about it 1.6 liter 160 hp =100 hp per liter. audi r8 4.2 liter 420 hp. bwm m3 3.2 liter 320 hp.compare to a random engine like a 5.7 liter v8 camaro/firebird with 320 hp, could be 570 hp but its not.the civic you have in your driveway is the smallest engine car with a 100hp per liter ratio. take pride in great engineering

  • is this really stock? im impressed

  • Comment removed

  • Wht did u do to get it to sound like this ?

  • dude that was nice and it is just has a cold air intake nice

  • hey bro do u stil have the car?

  • Not stock

  • @kdgg26 no just cai nd exhaust

  • @desertfox1792 i like how you say go buy the 2011 Mustang GT when in reality you yourself cannot afford the mustang . may i ask what car you drive ? and btw its not about making the car into the fastest race car, but its more of the experience and enjoyment of saying i built my car to be fast rather than being an average joe and just buying a car . i drive a 2000 honda civic ex and i drive a 2000 mustang GT . so its not like im ragging on muscle cars , just your an idiot .

  • god that was quick.

  • hmmm that doesn't look like the acceleration of a "stock" si but hey HONDA POWER none the less lol

  • That was fast!

  • this is really nice i want to get a 2000 honda civic si and just put a few bolt ons on it like intakes and throttle bodies ur car is pretty quick. i can tell you right now where im from ur car would be a faster one

  • i like your honda si... i have one 2 stock like yours just with a stage 3 clutch

  • 0-60 in 5.8sc??That cant be just an cai.

  • @Tunerboy8732 exhaust spacer too if you know what that is

  • that idle does NOT sound stock man...

  • @boostedwolfie exhaust spacer makes it sound tractor ish haha

  • What's the difference between the Honda Civic Si's and the Honda Civic Ex's?

  • @xVxRayJohnathaNxVx vtec vs non vtec

  • @xVxRayJohnathaNxVx Si is a DOHC V-Tec. Ex is a SOHC V-Tec. The Si makes more power.

  • @xVxRayJohnathaNxVx d16 vs b16. b16 =si. b16 has vtec. google vtec.

  • thats def quik enough for gettin around daily...i like it i wan one of these to play with and a fg2 as a daily... love all the si cars but the ep3 is eh :/ engines cool but looks are eh handiling is gr8 in the type r ep3 but eh idk ek si is sexy! blue is the only color i wud ever do others are ok but the si blue rocks

  • I don't get how all u guy can't count it dose 0-60 in bout 6.5- 7 sec but u guys say it's way 2 fast( check out the actual specs for the car and actualy time it not just count in ur head) I drive a 07 si and that thing is bout sec faster

  • @slavasey93 bro the lower to sea level you are the more oxygen your car gets the quicker it is. i took my car up to a higher elevated city it wouldnt pull for shit. my friend also has a 2007 civic si sedan, and this si sticks with it easy until the 07 si gets to like 60mph... although if i drove the 07 si i would pull on this 2000 si... anyways cool man i love the new si's, k20 is my favorite engine.

  • do all stock si's red line at 8k rpm

  • @thero420 yeah but the ep3 si's came with like a bit over 7K redline... sad sad sad.

  • @thero420 yep thats honda for you

  • all you waaa waaa boo hoo this is downhill just look at the timeline...takes off at roughly 5 seconds hits 60 at 12 seconds a 7 second 60 is just about right stock was about 7.6 fyi.

  • @chamillionaire123456 youtube is full of assfuckers like you lol.

boo hoo my ass bitch im a witneess this wasnt a downhill race quit being so ignorant you prolly dont even have a car to start with do you?

  • @hondakiid you dumbass mother fucker. jesus you are so fucking dumb. I was arguing the point that it took roughly 7 seconds to get to 60. Which would be able right because stock is about 7.6 and in the description it reads that this is a pretty much stock SI. You are a dumb motherfucker learn to read fuck off you dumb cunt SMDH

  • @chamillionaire123456 why you get so mad that easy man? lol typical youtube shit talker you prolly have alot of haters on youtube huh? relax kid

  • @hondakiid now your attitude changes when you realize how fucking stupid you are kid. If typical means talking down on stupid mother fuckers, yeah i'm typical. you dumbass.

  • @chamillionaire123456 man go fuck yourself. i know for sure you aint even got a car to start this argument with. so stupid why the hell do people start shit over youtube??? what you prove by talking shit you only make yourself look stupid. retarded ass mother fucker.

  • @hondakiid mother fucker are you serious i didn't start shit you misread my original post and started talking shit you dumbass retard damn. Nuff said kiid go watch barney or something

  • @chamillionaire123456 omg seriously? barney? i have nothing left to say to you. lmfao

  • and 1 more thing, your car acceleration varies by where you live... say you live at higher elevation there is less oxygen and your car wont be as quick as it would say at sea level elevation.. i went to reno nv once and my car felt like its lost 50 ponies if not more... came back home to sac town and back to normal.

  • why cant people accept the fact that there are better drivers with faster cars out there? this video wasnt filmed driving down hill it was a straight road, this was actually a race from a dead stop vs my tc...this si is faster then alot of the other si's with same upgrades. who knows maybe it was just built on a good sunny day lol

  • This is a down hill video. Ive had a crx with a b16 and civic with a b16 and stock they were never this fast, not to mention they weighed less... you are full of crap

  • Whoa, hang on. Foothills and Baseline in Roseville? I live right around there.

Anyway, I'm on the hunt for a new car, thinking of an Si, and I like the 95-00 body style, so can I expect performance anywhere around this if I nab one off of craigslist?

  • @2435ght to be honest i have another one and its not as fast as this one in the video.even with a header. so you might get the same performance but generaly yea.

  • wwhhhaaattt??? I was just convinced to buy an SI to have some fun with.

  • hahahaha dats a damn fastt civic i mustt sayy buttt itss wayy to fastt too be stockk cuz i have a 2003 civic and i put a short ram and i didint do much difference so you deff have somenthing else in that engine cuz i noticed how it went from 40 to 50 in like less dan a second ;) but its still pretty beastly for a civic

  • just got my b16a on my eg...what do you think my 0-60 would be?

i got headers intake and cams

  • ok very good run...i have a 2000 honda civic working on it .right now?

  • wow civics have changed quite a bit over the years....this one might actually give my old 97' GS-R a run for it's money

  • @nike2323231 a gsr would beat this car, he is driving down hill.... such a fake...

  • thats a damn good run man.

  • Nice man, I'm impressed with how quick it is for just having an intake. :)

I was curious how quick these were out of the box since I'm looking at getting into one for a DD. Nice car!

  • what is your topspeed?

  • @seemen1 honestly the fastest i hit was 139. it was on a cool night on the freeway going from pizza delivery job lol. i could of hit 140 but i glanced and let off. scared of a cop being over the next bend you know. the rpm was7800 ish i try to remember these things cuz i shift by mph not tach its more reliable

  • Nice

  • not bad for a honda

  • Not bad for a 4. I expected 9 seconds or so...

  • not bad? its ridiculous! 5.7 lol.

  • I meant 4 like 4 cylinder. Idk why my comment got thumbed down when I was complementing the video...?

  • i dont know, fanboys maybe...

  • Ja probably. I guess they're easy to offend.

  • ok guys, i need an honest opinion here, i'm going to be buying a my first car in the near future and i was wondering if the civic si was a good car to start with for tuning and modding?

  • yes i own 2000 honda civic si and in my opinion there the most tunable and customizable car out there get one

  • Me too. I personally love the coupe over the hatch. not even 16 yet but i can dream right? lol.

  • If you want to tune/mod something fast and cheap, I'd recommend an old Trans Am or Camaro. You can get plenty of power from a 305 or a 350 and it won't cost much at all.

  • @like73ninjas a school bus is faster than an old 305

  • I don't remember saying "keep a 305 stock". You can bore it over and rebuild it and get much more power than you can from a civic. My friend has an 84 TTA that's making almost 400. Its not that bad for something that used to make less than 200 hp, and it was cheap.

  • @lilunits expensive for a first car, unless u have ass loads of money, it was my first car, good car but easy to get in trouble with, i still have mine

  • first car, and tuning? u must be filthy rich, huh?

    civic, accords, subies and mitsu's

  • @lilunits get a mustang gt youll be smoking all your friends stock!

  • @lilunits dont do it. boooooooooooooo...

  • @lilunits man i had 4 more cars afrer that a 2001 teggy gsr, a 2001 bmw 525 manual, a civic, and a 750il and i miss it more than all of them put together

  • @lilunits I sold my 1998 Civic Ex to buy a 2006 Mazda 3 GT... and I still miss the old Civic everyday :)

  • @doanster I missed my civics so much I got a 2000 civic ex. They are great cars!! Yes a mustang can out run it, but what it comes down to is when every time I turn that key I have a smile on my face. I like the performance that the new SI's have, but any 2000 and older civic have more of a fun factor

  • @lilunits yes civics are great cars for first time buyers. not to mention how reliable and inexpesive they are, hondas are also great project cars that dont cost a lot to modify. so if i were you i would definately consider a honda. GOOD LUCK to ya!

  • @lilunits or you can get yoruself a REAL car and get the new 2011 Mustang GT they'll do laps around any civic. but if you want to be another civic owner that tries to make his "car" into a "race car" go for it

  • @lilunits For sure ,and if you have low budget ,but you should first chose a car most for the look because almost all car are nice to tune and can be reliable if it not with it engine stock and tranny stock most of the time you can expect to do a swap at good price vs buy directly and lambo.2door you gonna pay much more insurrance ,for the engine you have to watch also for fuel economy vs power given, also look at the part price for the brand you have setup(,tranny, suspension etc)

  • ppl have to stop comparing bikes to cars obviously bikes r gonna be faster but all they can do is performance and their completely unpracticle.

  • Pmic your a dumb ass. Your going to compare a honda civic to a Honda street bike ? A cbr 600 even would smoke most cars.

  • well g no fucking wonder u got a 700 pound bike i would hope and pray to god like hell it would fucking dumbass people like u need to grow some god damn balls and quit talking shit forreal

  • hmm i have a 2000 civic SI stock .... redline is 7200rpm , he shift 8k he got a chip and an intake i think but i dont know

  • No yours is probably an EX. Redline on a 99-00 Si is 8k.

  • that sock damn

  • my wrx would rape it...

  • no shit haha. I love civics and wrx's

  • haha yea for sure

  • hey thanks alot for posting this vid up but i wanted to see a civic all the way stock becuz i might get one but thanks anyways u got a bad ass ride

  • v-tak?

  • sweet!

  • BEAST!

  • i am getting one. i have to im in love with the car its all i want. ha i been in the search for a while..

  • Damn im Thinking about getting one.

thats not bad at all man.

    cool car

  • Hey that was a pretty nice launch, i will definately give you that. Keep it up! I got a 6.7 second range for your 0-60 i might be wrong though.

  • From what I saw it started accelerating at :06 and hit 60 at :12, now the thing is a stock 00 Si driven by a professional driver at Motortrend hit 0-60 in 7.1 seconds so for this to just have an intake and shave roughly 1 second off that time with a conservative launch is bullshit. An intake will only ad about 5-8whp on average. B16s aren't known for having a great deal of bottom end power either(where he launched) so this is either slightly sped up or there's more than an intake done to this.

  • Okay I never said the civic SI was fast

  • No but you did say "nice launch" that wasn't a launch that was engaging the clutch and then taking off.

  • I love the sound of the V-tec kicking inn in first gear.

  • 7seconds not bad? whats the spec of the si?
