  • Nice song!

  • which album is this song from?

  • I can't stop thinking of the opening fight scenes where all the characters are clashing. Love this opening.

  • SPOILER ALERT

The original anime diverged significantly from the manga, most noticeably with the homonculus theories. in brotherhood, homonculi are walking philosophers stones whereas in the original anime they were failed human transmutations. another thing is that sloth, pride and wrath are all different from in the original, there is no dante in this one, etc. this more closely follows the manga but its still not perfect.

  • @flameblade66 fact not spoiler...

  • can i ask why they made brotherhood. i know its just shortened verisons of the first

  • @renji9876 from my understanding i think Brotherhood follows the manga closer than the first series did but thats just what ive heard

  • @EggThemOn Yeah Brotherhood follows manga when the first version just uses some aspects of manga. Brotherhood is awesome as is manga.

  • @EggThemOn Yep! Plus, it's a bit better too.

  • @EggThemOn The first FMA, dropped out of the manga after some episodes since the manga was to short. then FMA Brotherhood took over where the first FMA dropped out and follow the manga all the way.

  • @EggThemOn That's exactly why they made brotherhood :D

  • @EggThemOn Yeah thats Right. The regular Series has more unnessesary episodes that just make it more complicated for more reason. Plus this gets to the point faster :3

  • @EggThemOn yeah, Brotherhood follows manga

  • @EggThemOn That's basically right. As it happened, the first anime was made before the manga was even half finished. The story diverged so much that they felt they could make another anime based off it. Brotherhood's actually the longer of the two anime. The reason the first part of it seems shorter is because they're condensing the early part of the anime. The first anime already covered it, and it's less important to the overarching story of the manga.

  • @renji9876 @EggThemOn Basically when FMA1 was being made into a show, the manga was being made at the same time. The manga was taking too long to finish, so the show (FMA1) went ahead and made their own story. A few years later after the manga and FMA1 were finished they decided to make the manga into an anime and that's what FMA:Brotherhood is. FMA:B is not shorter, it's 64 episodes while FMA1 is 51 episodes. They are both completely different stories after the first few episodes.

  • @renji9876 It's actually radically different, especially once it gets farther in.

I like it better than the first anime, myself.

  • @renji9876 The manga was only a little way in when the first anime series was made. So once the anime's story passed the manga's they just took it in a different direction. The manga is now complete and Brotherhood follows the manga. So for the first few episodes the animes are nearly the same but they eventually branch off. The first series follows its own story and Brotherhood follows the manga's story (the better one IMO). So you could say Brotherhood is how FMA was intended to be.

  • @renji9876 brotherhood follows the original story (the manga), the first one fma doesnt, it is really different.

  • @renji9876 brotherhood was made to follow the manga much closer where as the first just strayed off onto it's own direction after episode 25, even before that FMA 2003 didn't follow the mang closely at all.

  • @renji9876 Yeah as he said, Brotherhood is pretty much a direct animation of the manga's story, whereas the original FMA is pretty much it's own story and deviated quite a bit from the manga's plot.

  • @renji9876 holy crap... how dare you speak like that when you dont even know anything?

the fma you know is a kiddo version for tv. less blood, less religious criticism, less etc. and the ending of that fma is pure shit to be honest. i watched both of them, like eggthemon said brotherhood is based on the manga so this means brotherhood is the real deal. at least read something about things you dont know before commenting and humiliating yourself

  • @AelThai Brotherhood looks more like a kiddy version. Just look at the designs. Besides FMA was a more serious in plot and fate. That's why it ended they way it did. The ending gave a new since of realism and shows that life isn't perfect, but Ed and Al still got to be together regardless. Brotherhood ended similar much to all other different shows. It's like the same ending, not that its bad or anything. But at least FMA played its own game and did something new and original.

  • @Dattebayo04 Please, quick acting like everything 2003 did was original. News flash, it wasn't.

  • @KoolCartoons Was so.

  • @Dattebayo04 Really, that tell me you're a blind elitist the 2003 series wasn't perfect and it wasn't completely original ether, you sad sack.If you truly think that your nothing more then a blind fanboy that can't admit to your favorite series having some flaws.

  • @KoolCartoons Knew it wasn't perfect. Well. you know. Had a lot of gaps in the second half of the show. But they just had such epic ways of telling the story and dialogue. I like some parts in brotherhood, but I sure hate their drawing style and designs. Look at the wallpaper you see in this video, then look at brotherhood's wallpaper. It went from great sharp animation to looking like it was cheap in BH. You'd think a new series would look better. The OST isn't as good either.

  • @Dattebayo04 I figured so,you are a elitist.Brotherhood art style is INDEED more advance and superior and more detail to 2003 art style Bones had to make a new animation department just for Brotherhood. You simple prefer 2003's style, but Brotherhood is on a higher scale as for as art and animation go, that's a fact. And animation cheap?LOL okay the only best looking animation the 2003 had was Edward vs. Greed in episode 34 and that's nothing compared to any of Brotherhood fights scene.

  • @KoolCartoons I think even that OVA fight was in the 2003 version was better than a lot of the fights in brotherhood. The animation when Wrath fought mutated Gluttony was amazing. If the 2003 version of FMA still went on to 2009, it would have changed to HD animation. Series, like DBZ or Eva, and Inuyasha got second series, but the designing was still the same. Hate that FMA had to get a weird style. I know it's a different studio but sheesh. But in the OST, 2003>brotherhood.

  • @Dattebayo04 Please Child, the OVA fight can't compare to any Wrath fight from Brotherhood more over. Also your comparing a animtion budget of a Movie to a series that's unfair but regradless, brotherhood had better fights then that as well. And I dissagree brotherhood had a better OST when it came to awesome tense moments.Could any soundtrack from 2003 compare to ''The Intrepid" or "Crisis of the North"?

  • @KoolCartoons Yes, brotherhood had some good ovas, but the OSTs in FMA were best overall. I agree that the bradley fights were good, but FMA could have made better fights. I just don't like brotherhood has an anime. No problem with the manga

  • @Dattebayo04 2003 could have but in the end they didn't.And no Brotherhood soundtrack is indeed better as well.I don't get you though, why do you continue on debating which anime is great? There both great animes and they both are under one franchise. So why agrue? It FullMetal Alchemist and it's an awesome franchise in general.

  • @KoolCartoons I suppose. I did enjoy the last season of Brotherhood.

  • @Dattebayo04 There you, go.

  • @renji9876

The first series followed the manga untill Greed showed up, they caught up with the manga and they kind of made up the rest

    Brotherhood follows the manga :)

  • @renji9876 mmm no, just the first 10 caps are like the first anime, the other 50 are different, andI think brotherhood is much much better than the original, but both are awesome.

  • @renji9876 1st its not a shortened verison 2nd its alot better than the first

  • @renji9876 Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood is the orginal story as intended by the writer. The original anime "full metal alchemist" does not follow the manga, mainly because the manga was no where near completed when the original FMA ended, I guess this was done because the budget for the show was low so the production may have decided to cancel the show with a filler ending. But the series eventually got back on its feet when people realized just how bad ass the manga actually is.

  • @renji9876 The actual idea of Brotherhood was for it to follow the manga more closely as the 2003 version had become something on it's own.

  • @renji9876

when the first one was being animated, the comic was still ongoing, considering how the animation comes out faster than the comic, they went on a total different plot line, and also made many filler episodes.

brotherhood is truer to the storyline of the actual comic series. (also with characters who appeared in the comic but not in the first version) and with almost no filler episodes, I think brotherhood tells the story much more smoothly and with more impact.

  • @zelda994612 Its Manga not Comic. You read a Comic Left to Right, in Manga you read Right to Left!

  • @renji9876 The first anime is a lot different from the manga, especially since they hadn't even finished the manga by the time they finished the anime.

  • FMA Brotherhood has the best openings :D

  • Aw...this song brings back good memories... :)

  • the opening is actually 10x longer than this.

  • Copyright laws suck and only serve as a form of coerced creativity. This song gives me goose bumps no matter how many times I hear it!

  • Whoever put up the description of this video clearly doesn't understand what Fair Use is.

  • @Fireouch "Non-profit" That there is the key to the copyright law, and how it is perfectly legal for someone to post a song on the internet, without making any kind of profit.

  • @guitarlover654 "Non-profit doesn't mean anything. It's not under Fair Use if it's an entire song. This is basically giving people an excuse not to buy something meant to make a profit, without permission from the copyright holders. It's not legal at all

  • @Fireouch And yet here you are, bitching about how illegal it is, and yet you're watching it your self.
