  • Rick,

Great review, love all your videos, you do a great job. I have never heard about the Marauder but I'm looking into one now.

I take offense at your Fat Mexican American, you're not Fat or Mexican-American.

you're just an American. Like all the rest of us.

Great reviews, have a great day.

  • @goneballistic

You'll like the Marauder if you have the chance to try one. It is a great gun.

    Cheers

    Rick

  • im gonna get one this week, .177 or .22 ill see, im personally more of a .22 guy , but been reading some good stuff about .177 ...

first off i was gonna buy the hatsan at44 , but now im more leaning towards the marauder , since im really happy about my tuned benjamin discovery .22

  • hey wys 177 more versitile than 22

  • @chickenfarmer296

I think the .22 is a better all around caliber for most airguns.. personally.

    rick

  • how's the accuracy at max power with heavy pellets? I still haven't decided on the air rifle I'll choose, as money is hard to come by now adays, especially for a nearly $500 airgun. I've heard of the marauder getting 27 ft/lbs with 7.9 gr pellets at 1250fps after turning the power screw 5-1/2 to 6 times. I want to hunt with it, but I dont want a .22 version as it isn't as versatile, and it's hard to get a backstop thick enough to stop the .22 version.

  • @drewnickel

Energy is energy. if you turn up the .177 to achieve the energy of a .22.. then you'll still need a heavier backstop. You can build a very heavy duty backstop with 2x4's, 1/4 plate steel, 1x3's and some electricians putty. I may post a video at some point. Or, just watch the rough cut of the IZH 61. I built silent traps that have stopped my .22 marauder at 10 yards without issue. Also, 1250 in a .177 puts you supersonic = loud.

    Cheers

    Rick

.22 is still better for hunting.

  • @AirGunWeb would a heavy 10.5 to 12 grain pellet keep it subsonic while still keeping that massive energy and still being .177 caliber?

  • @drewnickel

It would do better than lighter pellets.. in the end you want the most accurate pellet, regardless of weight or shape.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb if you were to compare the benjamin marauder to the airforce condor as far as versatility (i.e. target shooting, pest control, small game hunting, medium game hunting, what all it's capable of) which one would be better, I'm stuck between the marauder's looks and stealth, and the condor's tactfulness and shear power. I want to try both, but I just dont have access to either gun to try them out. any input would be very appreciated.

  • @drewnickel

my personal preference would be the Marauder.. unless I NEEDED to shoot 120 yards to kill a coyote, then it would be the Condor. The Condor is a great gun.. but it is very loud. the price and features of the Marauder make it very difficult to beat.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb I do think that the quiet part would be great, because I live in a neighborhood and even though they are okay with me using air rifles, I'm pretty sure they woudn't want something thats as loud or louder than a .22 rimfire. I think I'll go with the marauder and get the airforce condor later for just messing things up or for big game hunting using the air archer barrel (which allows you to fire a 450 grain crossbow bolt at nearly 400 fps with a 100 gram hammer)

  • Enjoy your videos on the marauder. My .22 arrives tomorrow.

  • Hey Rick I was just wondering if the Marauder needs a certain hold. For say, I have a Walther falcon Hunter in .25 and it is very hold sensitive. Are PCP Air rifles typically hold sensitive or is that term mainly used for Spring guns?

  • @TheHissingCash

Nope.. they are much more forgiving than spring guns. Most have little if any recoil and the recoil you do get it more like a gentle push rather than a smack.

    Rick

  • Which gun is more powerful? the Benjamin Marauder .22 or the Benjamin trail np xl .22. And could it take a fox?

  • @joop226

The marauder most certainly.. more importantly it is much more accurate.

    Rick

  • @joop226 yes it can take a fox, even the .177 cal version is powerful enough to take a fox. if your worried about power, get the .25 cal and turn the power screw 5-1/2 to 6 times. it's already 45 ft/lbs without adjustment, with adjustments it can top 50 to 60

  • i usually wearing a smile while shooting a benjamin marauder airgun.. its very fun.. no noise.. :-) great job crosman

  • Is the .22 better than .177

  • @mrderickman

In my opinion the .22 is better.. but some may argue that point.

    Rick

  • oh yeah. comment pending approval. your channel is a fucking joke fat boi

  • @thesnotfIakes

I normally just delete comments like these because they are of little substantive use... but what they hay, even the ignorant need a place to vent....

Also, why are all the haters so concerned about my weight....? Oh well.. the great thing about America is that even a fat Mexican American like myself can post videos on youtube and have a voice.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb hey rick i think your cool i wish i could shoot all the airguns you do

  • @airgunman971

It took a lot of work to get here.. Drop me a note if you want to know how to get started for yourself... Hard work and the ability to take criticism without taking it personally is key. Take a look at my channel for my website and you can contact me directly that way.

    Cheers!

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb ok thanks

  • @AirGunWeb how do i get started myself?

  • @NRXTN1

Email me directly.. we can chat.

    Rick

  • @thesnotfIakes dude, lay off! seriously go hate on someone else. Put yourself in Ricks place. Hes just making videos for everyone to enjoy and then some ignorant loser comes around and hates. I honestly despise guys like you more than anything. if your gonna watch the video and hate, why'd you click on the video in the first place?! Seriously, just get a life.

  • @thesnotfIakes Seriously shut the fuck up, this dude makes videos for people who are thinking of getting these things and you (the asshole) insults his weight (which has nothing to do with his channel or whether he's a nice guy) so fuck off "boi" (boy)

  • a lot of time and energy? who are you kidding pal? the ripped off air arms design!

  • @thesnotfIakes

(this is a repost from your other "comment")

are you speaking from experience.. or just opinion.. I have 2 marauders and they are excellent rifles... costing WAY less than the Air Arms.. You do get what you pay for generally speaking. In the Marauder, you get more than you pay for. Now there has been some talk that quality control as dropped.. if that is the case it will be very sad. But to say generally that the Marauder (as ALL marauders) are crap is not true.

    Rick

  • Hey, I was wondering what was the pros/cons of buying the .177 caliber over the .22 caliber.

  • @0001Gamefreak

pellets are cheaper.. If you want to hunt with it, then go .22.. if you want to just target shoot, the .177 may be a better option.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • @0001Gamefreak

In .22, at least me, one can tell its a heavier pellet. Whenever I shoot the .22 and then go to .177 rifle, the 177 feels like shooting air while the .22 there is more "feel" or whatever of the pellet coming out of the barrel and hitting the target.

Also, the sound on impact is cooler with .22 compared to .177. In the higher caliber is more of a zump while in the small one its like a plink when hitting wooden boards, tin cans, metal target etc.

  • @enzoG96

    30 to 40

    Rick

  • which one do u think is better, the maurauder, or the hammerli pnuma?

  • @Dogman022908

I have not shot the Pnuma so I'm not sure about that one. The Marauder is a great rifle.. It will be hard to do better.

    Rick

  • What song is in the intro?

  • @themadicewarrior

it is just a stock jingle in iMovie. My newer videos use my own music that I've written and performed.

    Rick

  • hey i now have this rifle in .22 cal got it sighted in for 60 yards and went hunting with it but every time i hit a squirrel it would hit it but not kill it so i went down to 40 yards and did the same thing i ever adjusted the power and i have had no luck any advise thanks

  • @graham81ful

Where are you hitting it? You should have more than enough power to have a clean kill at that range.. go for a high body shot, i.e. lungs and heart. The other thing you can do is get a gamo knock down target and see what is the max range that you can reliably hit the target.

    Rick

  • I want the pistol.

  • @Xxoo0o0o0ooxX

    Me too

    Rick

  • Hello Rick, did you test the muzzle velocity of it?

  • @scotttlp

nope.. this was a good while ago and I was visiting a friend for the afternoon. I did not have my chronograph with me.

    Rick

  • What kind of pellets do you guys recommend? I couldnt hear you say the name of the type of pellets...

  • @Charlie697297

    jsb diabolo exact jumbo

    Cheers

    rick

  • Hello Rick, I'm looking at the M-rod and the disco (I have enough cash for the disco now but will need to save for the M-rod) I will be using it only for field target and other target shooting. I know that most people use .177 in FT but do you think that the .22 in both guns is more accurate? Thanks in advance and your videos and website are both great!

  • @weinersnitzelz

I like the .22 for hunting. I believe most field target competitions require .177 so if that is your goal, then you need to stick with .177. I should try the disco in .177.. I've never really played with one.

    Rick

  • i have the discovery , its tuned and never let me down once , so i bet this one is great to

i find the discovery one of the most accurate guns i have ever owned , i never expected an air rilfe to hit targets that far

  • @supermotardmario

I agree.. mine holds 1" groups at 60 yards.. very nice gun.

    Rick

  • but it is hard to refill the tank with out a scuba tank or somthin els.

    the mighty

  • @themighty1899

It is a lot of work for sure.

    Rick

  • Do they get shipped to europe,

and do you have an idea about how much they cost in europe?

    Grtz. from Belgium :D

    pls answer.

    THX

  • @bayenne5b

I'm not sure.. You can contact PyramydAir directly and see if they can ship it out to you.

    Rick

  • sir, do you know how powerful is the .25 benjamin marauder? how many ft/lb or julios?

    tanks a lot

  • @cuacuagomez

I'm working on that rifle for the November or December review.

    Rick

  • this rifle is really expensive its 509.99$ on crosman.com thats way to expensive i think

  • @TheChewbacca1994

if you are not into the sport it it is very expensive. If you are really into the sport, it is one of the least expensive options out there.

    Rick

  • Hey,

i'd like to know what Benjamin rifle is the quickest.

I don't care about noise, just the fastest there is until now.

    Pls answer,

    THX!

  • @bayenne5b

This, with tweaking, is probably the most accurate and fastest. The Benjamin Trail NP XL in .177 may be faster out of the box, but not nearly as accurate.

    rick

  • @bayenne5b

    the marauder is pretty fast

    Rick

  • how powerful is the marouder, how many energy ?

    speed, gr pellet ,energy?

  • @cuacuagomez

Take a look at my other video.. I review the .22 cal.

    Rick

  • hey can u buy these in the UK

  • @1MEALOR

You'll need to check around locally.

    Rick

  • What cal would you go for rick? for pest controle i was looking at the .25 cal and was wondering. isent the bigger the cal the bigger bullet and more power?

  • @MrNubnation

it can be.. but there is a velocity that you need to hit to be practical. I don't believe that the .25 cal NP XL will get there. I like to see 700 to 750 FPS and I bet the best you'll get is 600. It will be a hard hitting 600 but your range will be very limited. The .22 should be a better all around caliber.

    Rick

  • Could you do a review on the Benjamin Katana?

  • @SilentSalvation1995

I'm sure I'll be able to.. I need to get a few rifles off my plate first.

    rick

  • @AirGunWeb Thank you. I was just wondering because it seems to be a slightly cheaper version of this rifle, and the reviews on PyramydAir say that it is good. I would just rather have a review I can watch than one I can read.

  • @SilentSalvation1995

The Katana should be the same other than the fact that it does not have a shrouded barrel.

    Rick

  • u deserv a sub

  • whats the lowest fps you can go on this gun

  • @hypnoticpotionsolo

and shoot straight..? I try and keep mine above 1000 psi.

    rick

  • what pellets do recommend for this?

  • @timscott61495

there are a few.. jsb exact jumbos are good.. h&n field target (special and trophy) should be good... crosman hollow points should also be good.

    Rick

  • @timscott61495 actually friend, each airgun prefers defferent pellets. My Benjamin discovery prefers the Crosman Destroyers, Merauder likes their Premier Hollow Points. And my Talon SS likes the Beeman Kodiaks. The pellets he lists might work but if you are serious about your airgunning try different types to find which one works best in your gun.

    Mason

  • Damn i want this gun, so expensive though!!! like gotta buy a pump, scope and everything for it too!!!

  • Wow, I should've bought this one instead of the Discovery. Oh, well. I gotta say, how loud the gun is factors(to me) how much I use it which is why I use my viper express 80$ with my Daisy 901 and Benjamin 10% a piece.(the Daisy is .177 multi pump). Too bad I have actually go to the woods which is far as hell from the city unless I shoot very occasionally in my basement with some loud music so people don't freak.

  • Is it possible to put a silencer on it?

  • it is already "silenced" via the baffles.. the thing hardly makes any sound...

    Rick

  • hi i have a question about the rifle, how many "pumps" du you have to do with the pump before it is charged?

  • a whole bunch.. to go from 1500 to 2500 takes about 120..

    Rick

  • alright, but is is not supposed to only operate with 2000 psi? can it damage the riffel, if you operate it with more than 2000 psi?

  • the Marauder can run 2000 or 3000 psi and is tunable in that range for velocity.. the rifle is really a airgun person's dream gun... 3000 is the max pressure.

    Rick

  • Whats the fps?

  • 900's or better.. you can set the FPS via simple adjustments.

    Rick

  • i see the tf contender 89 behind it on the table

  • i love the PCP'S RIFLES, but this is the greatest PCP's i evr seen, cuz you can by a a sumatra PCP and sounds like a real fire arm but this rifle its so quiet.

Benjamin Marauder is the best rifle (or almost for me)

  • hey i just saw this new gun on pyrmidair called the benjamin katana and i was wondering if you would be able to do a review on it in the near future. i was looking into getting the maruader but this gun operates off of only 2000 psi so i wouldnt have to spend extra money on a scuba tank etc if i got the maruader. thanks a lot!

  • I'm sure that I'll have one at some point.. it looks like a hybrid of the dicovery and the marauder.. I bet it is a nice shooting rifle.. I'll contact Crosman about it.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb yea i just want to know before deciding to buy it if there is going to be barrel flex like on the disco....thanks

  • rick you are great before i purchase a gun i always check out a video and your videos have helped alot thanx.

  • Thank you.

    Rick

  • hey when will the review for ur 22. cal be up?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!

also if i buy a 80cu tank off pyrmidair(the yellow tank they sell on their website) how many fills will i be able to get. kind of hard to explain but will i be able to fill the maruder 10 times at least or like 30 times? thanks a lot and please reply fast!! thanks!!

  • Working on the marauder now.. been backed up but that will be changing December 1. You should get 20+ fills from an 80cu tank.

    Rick

  • @AirGunWeb ok thanks a lot

  • Where are the Benjamin guns made? China or USA?

  • The Discovery and the Marauder are made here in the states.

    Rick

  • hey rick, i have a beeman dual caliber pelet rifle, and the fact that u can change the barrels makes the accuracy incredibly bad. you also have to keep tightening up the screw holding the barrel in place to keep accuracy at an ok level. do you have any advice on what i could do to improve the accuracy of my rifle?

  • pick your favorite barrel and stick with it... you may want to get some locktite for the screws.. That may help some.

    Rick

  • good thing it is made in the U.S., nothing against the chinese, but cost reductions are not always the best option to sell your stuff.

  • agreed.

    Rick

  • you'll need to send it back to Crosman. Sounds like there is something in the workings that is jamming up the works.

    Rick

  • great

  • hey dude, i have benjamin .22 discovery, will the maurader launch pellets further down range? Im looking for pellet gun that can make super long shots 100 yards out.

  • 100 yards is going to be hard.. you can hit a can reliably.. but if you are talking 1" groups at 100 yards.. you'll need to look elsewhere. You need more velocity to hold the accuracy beyond 50 and 75 yards. You may want to look at the AirForce Condor or some of the big bore PCP rifles over at PyramydAir.

    Rick

  • hey rick, you should do a really in depth review of this gun. I know a lot of people are looking at buying it, including me. thanks

  • I'm working on it.. I want to put a really nice scope on it... but I'm waiting for some new scope rings..

    rick

  • Rick, I was gonna buy this gun... but do you think I should buy it from Mac1 or from Pyramid? I know you work for pyramid and all but the guy from Mac1 said that he will pre check all marauders and make sure they perform as advertised. Do these guns need this mini-tune? or are they good to go out of the box? I wanna make sure because $500+ is a lot of money.

  • Hey there.. While I receive the bulk of my products from PyraydAir I actually don't work for them at this time.. I actually don't get paid from anyone.. I do usually get to keep what I review however.. Anyway as for where to buy it... find the best price. Pyramyd will test it for $10 if you want to make sure it is good out of the box.. Not sure what MAC1 charges. I've heard good things about him too.

    cheers.

    Rick

  • nice glasses

  • not trying to take anything away from this rifle but my AirArms @ 50yrds has a CTC of .1. .25 @ 20 yrds seems a bit wide to me. have you had better results once the rifle was broken in ?

  • I'm getting .1" ctc groups out of my .22.. I will be mounting a new scope and shooting a video soon... incredible gun. Which Air Arms to you have.. seeing as the Marauder comes in at $499.. Some Air Arms are more than twice that.. I'd expect them to shoot well.

    Rick

  • this gun is gonna be my Christmas present lol. putting a Leapers 6-24x50 Varmint scope on it and it'll be my 100 yard varmint rifle :P

i cannot wait to get this gun. i've read so many good reviews on this thing, it's just astounding that like said before, it's a CROSMAN! HOLY CRAP!!!

and for the record this is gonna be a lot of firsts for me. it'll be not only my first Crosman, but my first PCP as well. but it's gonna be a big hole in my wallet so i hope it lives up to its claims!

  • Hey Rick,

Nice first video review of the MDR. I got mine in .22 cal last week and I am enjoying the heck out of this PCP. I had to exchange back several PCP until I finally found the MDR was the quietest "production" PCP in the market today.

The 10 shot repeater, power/velocity adjustability, quiet report, and middle priced, is a "killer" product for Crosman.

Accuracy is A+, I am getting .amazing" from 25 yards and .45" to .65" @50+ Y. Amazing & outstanding PCP!

  • yep... the Marauder is going to be very tough to beat for the money.. Benjamin/Crosman has to be commended for their work on this. And we can't forget guys like Tom Gaylord who played an important role seeing this through.

    Rick

  • My marauder is coming tomorow!!! I cant wait!! im drooling. Its coming with a nice leapers 4-16x50. Whoo!!

  • holy crao thats a crossman

  • yep... hard to believe.... they can make a kick ass gun if they want to.

    rick

  • I don't... I do the reviews (both video and written sometimes) and then I get to keep them. I've worked very hard for over two years to get here. I don't get paid for the videos or all the time I spend helping folks up here.. this is a hobby for me.

    rick

  • WHAT IS BETER MARUDER OR HAILSTORM comparing FPS

  • seeing that you can "tune" the Marauder up to or faster than the halestorm... the Marauder should technically shoot faster than the Halestorm. You'll need a chronograph to tune the gun properly.

    Rick

  • does the pump come with the rifle?

  • nope.. extra purchase.

    rick

  • why does everyone want a quiet gun. louder is more fun and sounds more like a gun

  • not of you have temperamental neighbors or live in town where people may give you a hard time for shooting in you back yard... the quietness of this gun is a major plus.

    Rick

  • Some of us want the liberty of shooting in the backyard without having the swat team being called. If you want to shoot a real rifle then you have to haul all your stuff to the range. There are times where I just woke up at 6-7 and just watched the sunrise as I shoot quietly without disturbing anyone. Beautiful thing

  • yep... I'm going to build a silent trap for mine.. that should be the ticket for sure.

    rick

  • should i get this or a air force talon

  • difficult choice.. they are both great guns.. The Marauder is more "traditional" looking and has a 10 shot mag. The AirForce Talon is supposed to be insanely accurate.

    Really tough choice.

    Rick

  • I would really go with this rifle instead of the talon

  • wow i like how this gun is so quite. its pricey but seems like a great gun. never really used compressed air pellet gun b4 but i do have a 48ci 4500psi air tank for paintball which i could use. But im still considering NPSS only i really want a very quite gun

  • if you've got the tank... you can get the fittings to fill this gun. I'm not sure how many fills you'll get off a 48ci tank however. This will give you a good 100 FPS advantage over the NPSS.

    Rick

  • RIck Do you know anything about Anschutz mod. 335 air rifle ? I have it and it is in pretty good condition. It is accurate and powerful at least my rifle is :D. Can you tell me anything else about it ? Thanks!

  • Sorry.. don't know that I'll be much help to you on that one.

    Rick

  • Is this your favorite Air Rifle?

  • for now.. pretty much yes.

    Rick

  • Whats the most accurate air rifle you've shot?

  • So far... it was the Xisico (BAM) B50 pcp rifle shooting Kodiak pellets. one hole groups all day every day... I'm hoping to get the same results out of my .22 Marauder.

    Rick

  • ok so how do these also work? do you pump this gun to charge it with a seperate pump or what i really want to get one i just dont know how to pperate these :/ i would appreciate it if you helped me

  • you pump it with a special pump to between 2000 and 3000 psi. It takes a lot the first time.. then you just top it off from there. I shoot about 3 clips and then top it off. it takes about 10 pumps to put 100 psi in the gun using the discovery pump.. a better system would be to use a suba tank.. I'll be getting one for sure..

    Rick

  • is it the same concept as the airforce talon/condor seems like a lot of work to pay 795.99 for???can you recommend any break barrel looks like im leaning torwards the falcon hunter for the power but rangge accurcy i heard th pcp are way better.

  • PCP rifles only really make sense if you can get setup to fill them with a scuba tank or other means. The pumps work in a pinch, but unless you like working up a sweat between each set of shots, they are not to practical for long shooting sessions. For a long range break barrel, consider the RWS 350 mag (I've heard it is good), Crosman NPSS, Contender 89, Walther Falcon Hunter with gas ram, all in .22.

    Hope that helps.

    Rick

  • hmm how much do they cost on average?

  • the best starter kit for a PCP rifle would be the Benjamin Discovery Kit. It comes complete with a pump and the rifle has open sights so you can shoot right out of the box. I love mine. It is a bit loud though. Cost is $400. They go up from there and often don't include the pump which runs about $200 alone. The other break barrels, quality ones anyway, will be in the high $200 range and up easy.

    Hope that helps.

    Rick

  • Benjamin discos are 269 with the pump at sunshine airguns

  • Hey ma rick maaaaaan can you do a review on the gamo hunter sport?

  • I can request one... we'll see.

    Rick

  • What are the possibilities of doing a review on the Benjamin 392 or 397 in the future?

  • not sure... i did a written review for PyramydAir of the Benjamin Sheridan Blue Streak in .20 cal. Great gun.. but it wore me out for sure..

    Rick

  • Alright, thanks very much. The Benjamin multi-pump line of rifles are great quality correct? Ive seen many reviews where the owner says that they last forever

  • they are decent rifles for sure.

    Rick

  • Is im sure there is a trajectory difference at long distances, but is there a major accuracy difference between the 392 and 397 at about a 20-30 yard difference

  • those rifles shoot at a relatively low velocity so at 30 yards you're going to want all the mass you can muster on the target... go for the larger caliber and adjust for the drop if necessary with a mil-dot scope.

    Rick

  • Can this rifle hold a bipod? If so which kind do I buy?

  • yes.. it has factory mounted sling studs. I use a regular rifle bipod that attaches to the stud. Works awesome.

    Rick

  • Which bipod did you buy exaclty?

  • It was hanging on the rack at Wal-Mart for about $30... don't remember the brand.

    Rick

  • looks like crossman are finally trying to match the quality of pcp's we get here in europe(uk), hope they keep the price down, looks like a good rifle.

  • awesome rifle... the .22 cal is amazing.

    Rick

  • hey Rick is this co2 as well as air like the discovery. thought that was a bit of a gimmick myself. looks a very good gun though, should do well....jamie

  • yep.. this is "dual fuel" although I'm not sure how well it works. Cool thing is that if you know you are not going to ever use co2, you can adjust it to run on 3000 psi and get more shots out of the gun.

    Cheers.

    Rick

  • Can't wait until put out the review in .22. Do you think you will have it out before next year?

  • I don't know... maybe... I guess you'll just have to wait and see.

  • That guy burned you pretty bad lol. But I understand. This should be your best review yet. Cant wait. Also you should try to have long range targets. 50 yards to 100 yards maybe? hopefully? Just to see how it performs. Ive heard wonderful stories about its long range capabilities.

  • yep.. I'll have to make a couple of reviews on this one... I'll have to take it out to my family's land and shoot long range just for fun. As for being "burned..." oh well.. I can't please everybody. Hopefully one of these vendors will offer me a job so I can quit my day job and just work on reviews for you folks.

    Cheers.
