  • 8 people had a bad morning

  • I am SO glad that he is going to Valjean in the film :) I admit, I was a bit disappointed that it wasn't going to be Alfie Boe...but I'm really glad it is him - not some actor that can't make the cut.

  • his voice is actually somewhat reminiscent of colm...i'm excited to see him as jean valjean!

  • He should do cameo for Glee

  • eight people is special :D

  • Tornado Claw!

  • they cast the right person as valjean in the new les miserables movie

  • *swoon*

  • all those looks and acting skill and he can sing and dance worthy of remake and albums.

  • I say that all Broadway actors have a super power, Sutton Foster doesn't need to breath, Mathew Broderick doesn't age and apparently Hugh Jackman has the ability to become the poster child of testosterone after... Well, THIS!

  • Oh boy, does this man ever have a set of pipes on him! I enjoy listening to him sing. I enjoy his movies, too, especially Australia.

  • what cant he do? ... hugh was offered the chance to play the phantom in the 2004 movie adaptation of phantom of the opera but declined due that he was already filming van helsing....not that i dont like gerard butler, but i wonder what it would be like if our dear hugh sang music of the night? *sigh* the world will never know...

  • oh what a beautiful voice!

  • 8 people do not have a wonderful feeling.

  • swooooooon !! :))

  • I love this song, love Hugh in "Oklahoma" and this concert is epic!! Could you please make this video avaiable to play on mobile phones too. It would be nice to listen to it on the go.

  • This song always makes my day about 12x better than it was going before. :)

  • Swooning.

  • Wolverine playing Indiana Jones playing a irritating optimist. Incredible.

  • So this is what Wolverine does in his spare time XD

  • @ThaBlackSoldier56 *gruff voice* I'm the best at what I do. And that includes Broadway musicals.

  • I'm so excited to see him as Valjean in the Les Mis movie! :D

  • Just when I thought he could not get any better!!!! I love Hugh! He's an amazing actor and singer! My all time favorite actor!!!!!

  • Hugh Jackman should have been Judd

  • If he can do a falsetto, he'd be a great Valjean in Les Mis... or, he could easily play Javert...

  • @emilyrebekah1 He is going to be in the movie version.

  • Oh, what a beautiful Hugh! ;-)

  • I can totally picture him in like the background of an X-man movie smoking and singing this to himself and the people just satring at him like he's nuts

  • DAMN!

  • I'm glad he can sing since he's been cast as Jean Valjean in a movie adaption of the musical Les Miserables. So excited!

  • @Masterpieceman16 he hasn't been cast yet. the director just has an eye on him.

  • @Lilkrouton it actually is official now. it's on imdb.com and I've read articles about it. they have most of the characters casted now and I'm very happy with who they picked.

  • @Masterpieceman16 Yea i was kinda wondering so had to look him up hehe!

    same with russel crowe

  • Hugh can sing !!!!!!!!! Wow great voice

  • thats a man with the whole package!

  • He's too British to use the incorrect grammar usually associated with this song. I love his voice, though.

  • @Aventura459 he's Australian, not British. :)

  • @books0from0boxes I know. Should I have said that he's too proper?

  • @Aventura459 yes probably, since 'British' is a nationality, not a describing word.

sorry don't mean to be snarky.

  • @books0from0boxes It's no problem. ^^

  • Love it. Hugh has come full circle for me.

  • he should do it in an X-men costume :)

  • wow...this is Wolverine...

  • wow, he sounds much better here than in the clip of him from the dvd. this is almost as good as the original film (almost).

  • Ever since I saw him do this, I've wanted my school musical to be Oaklahoma so I could play Curly's love interest.

  • He's good looking, he's into theatre, and he can dance and sing. Has anyone else ever wondered exactly which "team" he "bats for?" ;)

  • @neosoc

He is straight, but he is married, and has been for about 15 years.

  • maigod! wolverine singing this?hohoo.... true class artist, best in singing, best in stage performing, best in film acting...true modern idol

  • @siotjekauni Vocally and acting wise, let's be honest: he cannot hang with John Raitt or Gordon MacRae.

  • @RPenta well NO, but he's good!! and he's got the right charm to play Curly.. my brother and sister in law saw the show in London and thought he was great, plus he did his own dancing in the dream ballet, which is usually done with lead dancers, with Curly and Laurie in the foreground...

  • Oh what a beautiful man!!!

  • 100$ to someone who finds a role he CAN'T pull off...

  • @jukji1821 Well, here's hoping he can "pull off" the role of Jean Valjean in the movie version of "Les Miserables". Word is he's signed on to play the part. His voice is too reedy and 'thin' for Valjean IMO, but guess we'll see! Word is Paul Bettany will be singing/playing Javert. Nothing official on either rumor...

  • So Hugh Jackman got all the talent in the world then?

  • @BrainStew97 and metal bones lol

  • @BrainStew97 he was certainly at the front of que when it was being dished out lol!

  • OMGoshhh...i love him....(shalow much)

  • McKenny has a totally different approach--one Broadway could accept. McKenny is much more flamboyant. Perhaps the producers were concerned with the bottom line: ticket sales and more people in attendance.

  • Hugh's EVERYWHERE how the hell does he do such a great accent when he's austalian plus he's frickin fit!

  • He aint no Gordon MacRae :/

  • awesome!

  • Hugh is so good looking and such a good singer. I like him bunches. :))

  • where can i get one? :0)

  • I never knew this about Hugh Jackman; I have an all new respect for him. This song/video are great. Thanks for posting!

  • @daisiesinmay1 cannot agree more. i watched hey mr producer for nearly a dozen times, and everytime i would say something like 'hey this guy looks strangely like wolverine' to the people next to me. not until now did i know it really IS him. he really, really blows me off now. i think if i show this to my classmates, they'll all be stunned. actually i think i'm gonna share it on facebook right now. (lol)

  • He's... He's just perfect *_*

  • Nice voice, but I still prefer someone with a deeper voice (e.g., Gordon MacRae) to really boom out those long notes.

    Still, good on Hugh.

  • Great song, gorgeous man, sunshine on my shoulder.

    Cant get any better...

  • I fell in love with Hugh Jackman after seeing this!!

  • Absolutely amazing! Who knew? I agree with the above statement Handsome, Intelligent, Charming, Kind. He's all of that plus, more! He truly is one of the good guys!

  • <<<333

  • whoaaaaaaaaaa got me and my mom both surprised O_O

  • he so amazing i so want him lol

  • I saw Hugh Jackman in Oklahoma in London before he was in X-Men - he wasn't a big movie star then, but he was great in Oklahoma - I even bought the soundtrack which I still have! He co-starred with Maureen Lipman and Josefina Gabrielle.

  • this man is brilliant. he really can do everything: singing, dancing, acting.. he does it all and he does it well.

  • YEOW!

  • I love him...he is absolutely yummy and he sings wonderfully.

  • I did not know he could sing, nice voice

  • he killed the song

  • whodathunkit? He can really project! wow!

  • Mary Rodgers, daughter of the composer, said this was the best production she'd ever seen, and she saw the original Broadway production with Alfred Drake and the original television production and the feature film which both starred Howard Keel. The performance you see on the DVD is more intimate and less broad, which enhances the experience.

  • @kennfong Howard Keel did not appear in the feature film version. In the 1955 movie the leading male roles were played by Gordon MacRae and Rod Steiger

  • @Aidankiwi Incidentally, Rod Steiger did his own singing. nobody up to that time had any idea that he could sing. He really was a very versatile actor.

  • @kennfong

I hope she did not say Jackman sang the role the best or else I think Mary needs to change the batteries in her hearing aid; as a singer Jackman cannot carry Keel, Raitt, Drake, and most of all Gordon McRae's jock strap when it comes to singing.

  • @kennfong Did she say Jackman could outsing Drake or MacRae? If so I think she must have been having a senior moment or the hearing aid needed a battery.

  • I didn't knew that Hugh Jackman had such a beautiful voice ! What a good singer !

  • He looks like Indiana Jones.

  • I am BLOWN AWAY ! I would never,in a thousand years....guessed HUGH JACKMAN, to be singing this, nearly SPOT ON !! GOOD SHOW !!

  • I love his voice but can I ask why he says meadaaaa instead of meadow?

  • @Freddie3113 because he is trying to imitate an accent

  • @Freddie3113

My guess is that's an Okie accent. There's another rendition of the song posted on YT from a local performance in Hendersonville, Oklahoma. The singer also pronounces "meadow" as "meadaaa."

For the record, the singer, one Sean McLaughlin, is pretty good!

  • @thechinadesk It must be really difficult to imitate an accent. I have seen many variations of this play and very few if any of the performers sound native. Depending on where one is from in Oklahoma, the word would be pronounced: maydough, mehda, or meder, or meddoe. However, probably not with the extended aaaa sound most often used.

  • @billdakelski

Thanks for that insight. I lived in Texas for over ten years, but even though it's "next door" to Oklahoma, I'm sure it doesn't count!

I don't know what is or isn't an Okie accent. I'll take your word for it!

  • Sounds like an ego maniac who tries to define himself by making a a mockery of numerous crafts.... I say stick to acting, he's and incredibly talented actor at it and obviously has worked hard at his abilities. Plenty of singers devote their lives to hone their skills and don't pretend to be actors.

  • WHEN IS HIS MOVIE MUSICIAL COMING OUT SO MANY RUMORS ....HE IS AMAZING AND I HAVE BEEN LOOKING SINCE RUMORS CAME OUT ABOUT FOX OKING IT LAST YEAR HURRY THE HELL UP!!!!!

  • Damn Wolverine doesn't have killer claws only ... He also got a killer voice!!!!

  • He would make the best Phantom! The little bit that he sang of Music of the Night on SNL was so beautiful and romantic! That part was made for him!

  • @anniecakes661 THAT'S WHAT I WAS THINKING!!!

  • I love morning, My theme song, then to be sung by amazing Huge Jackman, totally makes my day!!

  • why isn't he singing much anymore?? He's amazing!! :D

  • Wow!

  • big sigh. BIG.

  • Last year we did Oklahoma and our choir teacher/ director had us watch this and when I did it was just like O_O

    when I heard him sing!

    Hugh Jackman is AMAZING!!!!

  • Just Brilliant!

  • whoa HUGH JAKCMANS SINGIN!!!!!? DANG HEZ BOMB

  • my boyfriend is Curly in out middle school musical this year for Oklahoma. I am so proud of him! He doesn't need to be miced! his voice is like butter. better than Hugh Jackman. I'm not even kidding.

  • This guy is gorgeous and soooooo talented!!!! *****

  • What every man should strive to be:

    Handsome, Intelligent, Charming, Kind.

And of course what every actor should strive to be, diverse, no matter what the role is you can do it. Whether you need to be a over-ambitious magician, a muscle-bound superhero, or a farmer in Oklahoma

  • @th3m0vingshad0w So... we should strive to be H.I.C.K.s? Okay.

    Haha. Just kidding.

  • @th3m0vingshad0w i could say i am all except handsome, even though i try so where does that leave me?

  • @th3m0vingshad0w uh uh, he's a cowman ;) ('Oh, the farmer and the cowman should be friends...") But, yes, I agree!

  • @th3m0vingshad0w Or a guest star on Raw...

  • he's so adorable! and amazing, and handsome. and talented, and...everything. what can't this man do?

  • I love that he pointed with his hat on the Little brown maverick line, i always remembered that part for some reason

  • on the medaaa?

  • Oh why didn't he do Phantom?? It's not to late to do a TV special with him in the role. Anything to erase the memory of that God-awful 2004 movie.

  • @audiesgirl The Phantom is supposed to be a true tenor.

  • @MonkiiGirl: As if Gerard Butler was a tenor in the movie adaption...

I usually don't like Joel Schumacher, but I quite enjoyed (his) Phantom film, but Gerard's singing was really disappointing. It's not his fault. I think even if he would have gotten more training, his voice just doesn't fit The Phantom. It seems Joel and Andrew wanted a rough voice, instead of a threatrical one, like Hugh, I find it a pity, though.

  • @ManolitoMystiq I know that Gerard is not a tenor either. That's why Hugh wouldn't be any better than Gerard as the Phantom.

  • @MonkiiGirl: I disagree. I think Hugh would have been a whole lot better, even him not being a tenor. Again, it could be due the producers intention of wanting a rough sounding singer instead of a theatrical/classical-like sounding singer for the movie, that made Gerard not legit at all. I think Hugh's sound, even with possible necessary arrangements of the songs for his voice (like they did here and there for Gerard), would have made a better film. Then again, this is my opinion.

  • @audiesgirl I agree, Hugh's voice would have been awesome. He sang part of Music of the Night on an old SNL episode, and it was soooooo good.

  • Is there anything Hugh Jackman can't do..

  • Is there anything Hugh Jackman can't do..

  • I can sing it better. But he can kick my ass.

  • fantastic !

  • this has nothing on the original, no ways

  • I wish he wouldn't say medah...

    Lovely voice though <3

  • i like this musical it's so knarlly

  • I love his charisma! he's completely connected to the song & the audience, he was made for the stage. & yet, he manages to be brilliant in films too, a hard transition to make. and he's gorgeous!! there's just nothing wrong with this man, he's pretty much perfect. =)

  • JAMES BOND???? awww that would be fantastic!

  • gawjus

  • i love the wink

  • his voice is really powerful and beautiful...

  • lol it sounds like he's saying "meadaw"

  • Oh by the way....he was very close to being casted as JAMES BOND. James Bond and he can sing. I guess chicks dig him. I would if I was a woman. I guess...Maybe I should not go there...you all know what I mean.

  • He is WONDERFULL!!! <3

  • He's not Gordon Macrae, but he is an amazing man just the same.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • He is good. he can take the movie ,sing ,dance.

  • HE IS FUCKING AWESOME!!!!

  • we did this as our school music it is so fucking awsome im liek in love with it even though i was crew i know half the lines and songs and ours would of mayeb have been just as good

  • @vinnyrox2 Yeah, I just got done with helping backstage in a production of it. We rocked it so good. I didn't realize I would like it so much

  • he's looks good back then but now....

    he's even hotter!

  • most male celebrities are getting hotter as they get older like this guy!!! they don't need to have botox or any surgery to look good and look younger, the more matured they look, the better!

  • *shiver* *shiver* *goose bumps*

    =D

    *goose bumps* *shiver*

    awesome

  • He is gorgeous. He can sing, WOW!! I just love his smile.

  • LEGEND!

  • I love Hugh

  • I can imagine him walking through his house and singing this song xD

    live it

  • He should sing with John Farnham and Jimmy Barnes LOL

  • I didn't even know Hugh Jackman sang, but he's really good.

  • I love this song... I love what it says... and Hugh has done a brilliant rendition. :D

  • @MichiganFriedFilms: LOVE IT! I think he's brilliant. Cameron Mackintosh's London West End revival of Oklahoma! (from the original musical book) is a knockout, and Jackman dances the fantasy scene ballet.

  • I love Hugh. So fine. Patrick Wilson does a great job too as Curly

  • Lol this in a X-men movie would be epic!

I can see him having a REALLY good day dancing around with like Storm or Jean....

I can even see Scott go "WTF!?"

Oh man I need to draw that! XD

    To the drawing-pad!

  • He's supposed to be Javert in 2012. Can't wait!

  • What year was this??

  • @friendofthejawas 1998 on a tribute to Cameron Mackintosh at the Lyceum theatre in london

  • Comment removed

  • Gosh he's so handsome...

  • he should be a rockstar

  • He is amazing! Absolutely adore him!

  • wow.. =D He's got talent Oh what a beautiful voice..lol

  • Wait. HE sang this? And he's CUTER than usual?

...I think I have to marry this man.

  • @Burinnu hes already taken, but if he wasn't merried, he would be mine!

  • I had this song in my head, but i didn't know the lyrics, so I decided to listen to Hugh Jackman sing it :D

  • lmao

  • This guy has a voice that is "drop dead" astounding! He is just excellent!

  • oh what a beautiful man....!!!!

  • Oh my, I never saw the hottiness other girls saw in him.

    But now, ...pfew!

  • I agree haha wowo

  • The way he puts his hat on at the end is the same way he does when is Van Helsing

  • DAMN hes gooodd.... not to mention hot

  • This is my happy song to sing when things are going my way!

  • Amazing! that's all i have to say

  • What CAN'T this man do? I think I'm a little bit in love.

  • i was kinda half-hoping his claws would pop out lol

  • LOL that would be funny at the ending of the opening of the oscar when he sceamed Wolverine.
