i have been looking a few places for the right solvent, but can't find any.

I have been told that i use regular gasoline for a car. is this true? or do i need something more specific?

@cujorius - mineral spirits or acetone can can be found at any hardware store. dont recommend gasoline as it it leaves bit of a lingering odor and an oily residue.

@MedicAlv1 - You can get a standard vise at any hardware store, and buy the shaft clamp at Golfsmith or Golfworks. They have all the tools yuo'll need.
