@WeinerDogcreations the sound is from high revs from the fan blades, period. my twin 300mm EDF always gets questions like... is that a real jet motor, or, how much fuel does it use. you would likely never know the difference. i flew turbines for several years and i'll never go back. EDFs are just as powerful, cost 70% less, can be flown anywhere and anytime, and they're green friendly for the environment. plus... private insurance for my turbine cost $185.00 a month. on my EDF... $35.00 :)

@pencon61 the little 30in wingspan stuff you find all over you tube are pretty lame, but step up to a 200mil unit and you'll never know the difference until you see how much you save on the expensive fuels. plus no more flight restrictions :) mine lays down about 90lbs of thrust off the 96volts of juice i feed them with. trust me, they are way to cool. plus you don't have anymore 30 minute prep times and flight checks. no more burn outs. mo more high insurance costs.

Why should they be illegal? its not like this plane is killing or hurting people I mean its pretty cool. Besides planes like these have insurance which means that it can pay for property damage, new plane, etc.

A C-17 doesn't reach speeds of supersonic. It's about 200mph short of supersonic.

you misunderstood me, if that model was flying to scale that would mean a full scale C-17 could go supersonic. I am fully aware a Barney can't attain supersonic speeds.
