Wow! This video is the highest quality, music and pictures. She is so stunningly beautiful that she resembles a painting not an actual person, and everyone is right, there is a sadness there, but it adds to the vulnerable luminous light she had and it also tells a story of where she was psychologically at that time. It also seems she bacame even more beautiful with age.
And, I don't like those shots of her in B&W with the paper flowers colored in. Blecchh... she looks great, as always, but why draw the eye to those tacky paper flowers and away from the beautiful Marilyn? Awful composition, IMHO.
She was her own canvas & what a masterpiece. Even her fingers are exquisite. The famous Marilyn half-smile & parted lips expression came about because early on she was told that she smiled too widely which she was told made her nose look longer. I don't think she ever took a 'bad' picture, even in more candid shots when she was sad & without make-up. I think since Marilyn that only Sharon Tate came close as a female celeb to the perfect, camera-loving beauty that was Marilyn.
no se si es solo para mi pero se la nota muy rara en estas fotos.. creo que ya reflejaban la despedida.. que impotencia todo lo que la ocurrio.. hermosa marilyn! por siempre! :D
To me this pictures, show a different side of Marilyn. Not the actress but the troubled woman. She looks like she's putting on her show smile in some of these pictures and in some you can see how she acutely aware she is of her sexuality and how, in some shape or form, she hated it.
AWESOME JOB!! I remember this book and it was on of the first in my MM book collection, When I was a teen back in the early 80's all i did was read book after book on MM and the pics in this book are fantastic and I think some of the very best ever taken of her, I loved the pics with the Vogue Glamor type shots... Very classy and sophisticated...........
Thnx for sharing, P51! You're right...sort of like you said about my Elvis video - when he was young he looked so genuinely happy & later it was evident there was sadness behind the smiles & laughter. I've always felt we weren't supposed to see either one of these two people grow old. They died when they did - however it happened - to stay "young & beautiful" in our minds for a lifetime. Loved this...but it made me sad, too. Love ya! Red
her mouth is smiling but the laughter in her eyes are gone. I hope she comes back and heals, is happy and has a family that loves and supports her in a healthy unconditional way.
She was just so beautiful. Will remain that way forever.

Ironically, the photos that have the "X" on them in red were the ones that Marilyn had rejected, but they were some of the most beautiful.

What a great video & music!
She looked magnificent at this point of her life but her eyes show a sad, far away distant feeling.

I see sadness in Monroe's eyes . . . Monroe may be smiling, but the sadness is definitely there.

Beautiful video. The song fits perfectly...eerie and sad since she passed away only six weeks later.
She looked quite troubled. :(
