@dejakhalz oh I know. Sometimes I get nervous when taking to the authorities even if I have done nothing wrong. But it won't do you any good to admit it. I don't think it is worth it at all, even if you can be very convincing, they do too many random searches and scans. You could be caught so easily, even if they didn't suspect you had drugs, a dog, scan, or they just searching you as a random person could be what gets you caught.

@ontariobuds Kinda confusing that you say you should keep trying to lie while you also say it is not worth it even if you are very convincing.
And about it being a big risk, I took weed/hash lots of times to different countries by plane just for personal use, and never got caught, This show makes you think you hardly got a chance of succesfully smuggling anything across but that's just bullcrap if you ask me.

What I meant was for me, it wouldn't be worth the risk, because they do random searches, and it could be you. And I meant even if you are convincing enough to where they don't suspect you they still might end up checking your bags and finding whatever you have.

@ontariobuds He lied as much as he could. They still got him. I think he should get the full sentence as he was plainly guilty and knew what he was doing. They knew he was lying. His body language gave him away as much as anything. I wonder if it was his first smuggling trip. I think not. He was a bit cocky. The high-tech equipment helped to give him away too.

We spend so much money on this senseless drug war and only catch a portion of the drugs that come through the borders. Its time we admitted we lost the battle and looked to other methods of curbing drug use.

@2edsajdmsa I don't think its a similar thing at all. People who speed put others at risk whereas the user of drugs only puts himself at risk. If there was a magic button I could press that make drugs go away I would, but its not the case. No matter what the laws are people will put drugs into their system. They hurt only themselves, the shouldn't be treated like criminals.
Making it illegal makes it more attractive, educate people and give them the choice, they respect that a lot more.

@arngrimur2 but you're missing the major difference, drunk driving puts other people in danger, using drugs does not.
Drunk driving has gone down with education, smoking has gone with with legalization and education. We should do the same with drugs, especially marijauan. Educate people on the risks (of which there are few) and give them a choice. Its worked for the netherlands where only 5% of their people smoke cannabis even though they can walk into a "coffeeshop" and buy it.
