  • Spikings......legend.

Quote - "I'm off for a shower, a shave and a shish kebab"......i remember my old man laughing at that line all those years ago

  • Great programme. Michael Brandon looked really worried just before that knife came through the door. Bet he was hoping the planning was spot on !!!!!.

  • Oh this brings back memories.

  • Fabulous stuff, love it to bits, the theme was especially good when Dempsey fought the Bogeyman

  • Wow I never realised that this was the same one in Eastenders. And I watched both too. Wow

  • She looks like yer one who used to be on Top Gear - Vicky?

  • Weak theme

  • Go for it Michael @ 0:14, what a hero

  • This show was big in Portugal, it was the first country to release the series on DVD in 2004.

  • @recklesspjrn

A good reason to stay out of Portugal

  • so favorit show as a kid, level of miami vice and macgyver

  • I thought that Glynis Barber was the coolest thing on T.V

Her look, the hairstyle was just so 'now!' in 1985.

  • Haha, I haven't seen this since I was a kid!

I remember the funky theme tune, but looking back now as a man, my god was Glynis hot! A bit like Debbie Harry... :O

  • This looks so shit. But I wud have had my way with Glynis Barber. What a hottie.

  • Oh the tension.It was shit.Nobody cared.

  • Brilliant show and Glynis Barber....a would smash her back doors in!

  • @fooksake69 Try to keep it decent my good chap...

...stick to the vagina and leave the arse games for the botty bandits, eh?

  • @fooksake69 lol...lol..me too...

  • Before an American tv show called "Buffy The Vampire Slayer"came into my life in the late 90`s this was the only tv show i watched week after week.

Gosh...that opening theme still sounds good.

  • Omg, my childhood in the 80s in the socialist Czechoslovakia :D Funny we had this show... but I watched all the episodes :D

  • Great series.Only three seasons made I think,pity.

  • @1815ish 30 episodes were made in total(only 20 of them aired in the U.S.)...for roughly a season and a half, in American broadcast terms. In British terms, it may well have been 3 seasons since they have different ideas on how long a season is.

  • @ckg927 Thanks for the information, was not too sure.

  • @1815ish In Britain, yes. It only lasted one season in the U.S.(and we never got to see one third of the episodes!)

30 episodes were made in all.

  • "Spikings". Classic.

  • i like the show but some people did not

  • They were all into fencing in them days weren't they

  • They dont make theme tunes like that anymore

  • UK 80's police cars always looked naff compared to american ones

  • 80's crap

  • @OFFENDOR LOL :)

  • Youtube -

They Sold Their Souls For Rock And Roll

  • I Loved Glyinis Barber, She Was & Still Is Sexy. PS I Still Love Her.

  • The only thing I remember from this show is the badass Mercedes Roadster...

  • i guess every guy who is about 30 now and watched D&M was in love in Makepeace back in 80's

  • @1533you

I am in my thirties and yes, I was in love with Makepeace in the 1980s....

  • @1533you

Now it seems like she was the only logical path from Playmobil and Lego to manhood :-)-) I think that guys who were young in the 90's had the same experience with Pamela Anderson or Yasmine Bleeth.

  • Now I remember why I loved this show!!!

  • I'd force my cock down the back of her throat ( man)

  • This show sounds a rip off of Starsky and Hutch.

  • i used to love this when i was a toddler, when i heard the theme tune i used to rush in to watch lol

  • Glynis barber is in Eastenders now and she has aged beautifully! What I'd give for a threesome with 80's and 00's Glynis's!!!!!

  • @masere you've some imagination, a timetravel threeway!

  • @masere ha ha Genius!!!! Yes she is well fit

  • @masere I just love the fact that proposition entered your head!

    Superb!

  • @masere You could release an adult film based on your fantasy and call it Dempsey & Ringpiece.

  • @dilwich123 I just spat coffee on my mac after reading that!! :-) Cracked me up

  • @dilwich123 ha ha ha lol nice one!!!!

  • @masere SO TRUE!

  • @masere a time machine?

  • This was my childhood favourite! Wanted to be a real man like him and have a cute girlfriend like her! Now, a quarter century later, none of that happened (except for some nasty bosses like Spikings over time) but I bought the series on DVD just to have this trip on Memory Lane whenever I need it. Thank you Brandon, thank you Glynis!

  • Man is she a pretty what a beauty.

  • Thanks for the info mate, appriciate that.

  • Did Dempsey ever shoot makepeace with his meat gun?

  • @captainfantastic209 they got married in 1989, had a son Alex in '92 and as far as i know, still together

  • ahahaha loved it so much. which one was american? the guy?

  • @erol12345 Demsey was the American

and i use to love this shopw as a child

don't get fuck all on the tv worth watching anymore

thank god for old tv shows like this

  • Makepeace, not war, but PHWOAR!

  • Loved this show. Fancied the pants of Makepeace. Little did I realise Glenda in Eastenders i her. I hadn't regonised her. Best bit about the show was the way they got the intro looking and feeling like it was an American made show. Which made it watchable for me. Found 80s TV in the UK boring, American shows like the A-Team etc made TV fun. And Dempsey and Makepeace managed to capture that just right.

  • Loved Makepeace

should bring this show back, both young enough to pull it off

  • Don't you babe me

  • True 80s gold, made in a day before a left wing theme was made compulsary.

  • About the only thing about that show that IS high quality...

  • We didn't have cable until I was in High School, so all I had to watch were syndicated shows like this from the local UHF channels.

  • Awesome show! I stumble upon this video and I got hook on this show because of this intro!

  • Can Makepeace come and beat me up a bit? I've been a bad boy...

  • Looked it up Brannigan & Judy Geeson also Richard Attenborough very very similar.

  • Was this insiped by the John Wayne fim set in London. The girls are so similar.

  • fackin 'ell!!!

  • j aimais bien cette série des années 90*, le duo trop sympa , ils sont beaux , droles , avec des bonnes cascades , de l action comme on aime ! un vrai plaisir a regarder ..... merci a vous pour votre vidéo : )

  • Glynis Barber mmm Yummy

  • I used to fancy Glynis sooooooo much!

  • @ajam27 I Still do :D

  • I never forget those beautiful faces, come back, please!

    Dempsey & Makepeace, peace :)

  • What a great show this was on Saturday nights i remember, shame it only ran for 3 series. Should definitely be brought back!

  • God I love her

  • i remember being about 11 fancying her, barber. ha. very sad.

  • ianupton, how long did it take to make an episode and what was the radiant Glynis like off screen?.Cheers.

  • ona byla kůže!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i used to watch this programme for one reason only and that was to see the beautiful glynis barber.what a corker and she still looks red hot now.talk about getting better with age.

  • Glynis was, for me, certainly one of the most (and perhaps the most) beautiful british actress.

  • i was in charge of the stunts on this first series. i had a budget of £300.000 for the seven part series, so soz about the quality of stunts and that.

  • Make peace and love...

  • Glynis Barber is currently playing Glenda in Eastenders.

  • The theme was as good as most chart music back in the mid-'80's. Apart from The Style Council. They were shit.

    "Yo, y'want some cwoffee?"

  • Are these two still married in real life?

  • Yes they are, they have got one son and they both live and work in Great Britain.

  • Glynis Barber was sooooooo hot.

  • glynis is still hot but she's hot for her age.she never had big baps but her legs and bum were immaculate.

  • @sicano2003 present too ;)

  • @sicano2003 She still is!

  • I forgot all about this show until I saw this. I used to want a piece of Makepeace when I was a teenager..

  • life is hard then you die. 85 seemed to be the year of dirty harry wannabe's hunter lady blue and this guy

  • brilliant at the time, lookin back its bollocks, still....makepeace is as hot i remember her !!!!!!

  • lol ridiculous...at 0:14 it looks like hes fighting a dude with a fishing rod(yes i know its a sword)and at 0:18 so painfully obvious he let her ram his head into something, look at the smile on his face LOL

  • Awesome Show! Totally '80's!!

  • I have season 1 and 2 on DVD. Brillant serise.

  • Makepeace!! My dream then and now, you are unforgettable Goddess!

  • if you think glynis was good in this then check her out as soolin the gunslinger in series 4 of the sci-fi series blake's 7!.she kicked serious ass in that!!

  • Michael Brandon re-worded all the scripts for Dempsey and Makepeace, without him the show would not have worked, he is not the worst tv actor around the cronic andy sugden played by kelvin fletcher in emmerdale is. Michael has worked with major hollywood stars in his long career so keep your thoughts to your self..

  • Its bene showing on ITV3 but seems to have stoppped now.. shame, i rem it too at the age of 13! - she is still hot!

  • I remember this from when I was a kid bak in the 80's, I ain't seen it for donkeys years.

  • me too buddies i loved the women when i were a kid, she was in my my bed every sunday when i sore the series

  • Alan Parker

  • old time

I loved sgt. Makepeace when I was a kid.

  • I loved this show as a kid.

I used to fancy the arse off Glynis Barber, summat about her and she was cute.

Fit bird Blasting around 80's London Town in a XR3i Cabriolet........., boyhood dreams were made of this.......

  • It film was like my friend at work. From time to time he musted to scared my and then he was happy. He drove my crazy. But if I asked him, he did for my evrythink.

  • Michael Brandon. Worst television actor. ever, Or should that be woyst television acton ever.

  • Glynis was so filthy

  • What do you mean? She wasn't filthy!

  • she was and is and i want to fuck her

  • She bloody well is! Pure filth....at least I'd like to think so. ;)

  • Who was hottest?

Glynis Barber or Stephanie Kramer from US cop show Hunter?

    Its a tough one.

Also my favourite character from this was actually Spikings the chief. He was so dead pan! a legend.

  • Definitely Glynis Barber.

  • indeed

  • Stephanie Kramer ;) what a beautiful face ! and what a smile.... wow !

  • WROOOOONG!

  • According to IMDB she's doing Eastenders now.

  • OMG, I totally loved this show!

  • GREAT !!!!

  • wow blast from the past, i'd totally forgotten about this show.

  • Makepeace is hot! :-)

  • Brilliant show.

  • makes me remind of my earliest childhood, when I was 5.

  • used to hate this as a kid but i watched the re-runs on itv4 last year and loved them.

  • Wow. An awful lot of stuff exploded in Dempsey and Makepeace.

  • Great show, Glynis was stunning then and still is now!! Are they still married?

  • Alan Parker composed the opening theme for this show...I think it's still catchy today..He went on to the biggest gig of his life to score Jaws 3-D, and sadly that tanked and Alan didn't score again til What's Eating Gilbert Grape? If anyone out there knows what happened to this great talent, please let me know.

  • Ah, I see! I thought you'd transfered this from a VHS cassette!

  • @ColtPictures Alan also composed the tunes to 80s hospital drama "ANGELS", and..er..the old schools programme "MY WORLD",

  • Hey,great! What equipment did you use to post this? I have hundreds of video cassettes, but I've no idea how to transfer them onto here!

  • Hello, I have bought original DVD's so I just cut out the theme and encoded it :)

  • @mistofoles one way is for you to connect the vcr to a camcorder, record to dv and then upload.

  • @Markisagoodboy Hey, thanks, Never thought it of doing that way. I have an image-capture device now, though, check out my channel for loads of great clips!

  • It was great !!!!! I loved it !!!

  • i love you MAKEPEACE..! ;)

  • Great music and I loved the show. I had a crush on Glynis Barber. :) Unfortunately she looks awful since the 90s...

  • Once again, to you, and not to everyone.

  • Are you kidding? She looks fucking amazing for a woman in her 50's. Puts some women half her age to shame. Sheer class.

When you ask what chemistry should be between a male and female co-star just watch an episode of this show. Electric.

  • This show was on aired in Japan too and it was a very nice show.

  • i wanna marry makepeace.

  • Hehe - I totally agree with

    jahoodunrama !

  • about ten million people every week!

  • I checked it in Google... from 1976 to 79 he was married to her.

Can you believe he's married to "Makepeace" today?

I never knew he did the VO(narration) for the Thomas the Tank Engine programs on PBS...

  • My mom says the guy who played Dempsey(Michael Brandon) was married to Lindsay Wagner("The Bionic Woman") at one time.

  • I'm from the US and I remember watching this show on WGN but I don't remember these titles. The titles I remember had voice overs. Were there different ones in the US?

  • In Buffalo, we had to watch it via CHCH in Hamilton, ONT, on Friday Nights. WPIX had this show Sunday Nights in New York.

  • Cheapjack theme to a dismal unlikely-police-buddies series. Utter cat's puke.

  • To you. Not to everyone.

  • haha, oh man, this brings back memories. when i was a kid i thought that theme song was one of the coolest ever, only after Knight Rider and Macgyver.

oh and even at age 9 Makepeace made me tingly in my funny bits :D

  • luv u both, luv the theme, RIP Ray Smith.

  • I am sorry, but is this sort of a poor man's "Hunter?"

  • No you F****ing idiot.

  • Gee, did you wake-up in a puddle today or something? Anyway, I watched Hunter from beginning to end and never this show, although I recall the name from the tv guide, but I really don't know if it was good show.

  • It was a good show, one of the best of the 80s and thats why its still spoken of today. If you liked that kinda police based action dramas, such as Hunter, which I watched too, you'd love Demsey and Makepeace. It was a much better show. Watch it if you get the chance.

  • Much better than Hunter, eh? Unfortunately, I don't think it has ever been syndicated here in norther California bay area, or I would have caught an episode sooner or later.

  • wat is hunter, cant say ive ever heard of it

  • Hunter was a police detective show that ran for several years. It was on from 1984 to 1991. It was very popular and heavily-syndicated.

  • u fukin dickhead

  • Watch-out; I'll call Robert McCall to come equalize your poor manners.

  • Glynis Barber is the quintessential sexy British woman who can invoke a hard-on in a microsecond. Man, that woman's overpowering beauty and voluptuous disposition can quite easily qualify her as an instant goddess!!!
