Happened to me when I was there 2005-2006, in Balad. A lot of us got the runs, and about 2 days later they confessed the water hadn't been decontaminated properly. Wonder if I have any long term effects... Also, the dump there burns everything discarded, and we breath it. Imagine burning metals, wood, batteries, plastic, styrofoam, everything and anything. My soninlaw is in Iraq - he's at Belad USAF. About a month ago he had to take a bath in two bottles of drinking water - and he did that without permission because they had no running water there. How do we expect human beings to do anything without water?
