This made me cry every time I watched this. China and other countries ate them for lunch and/or dinner. They were killed in a cruel ways than cooked and consumed by the human's stomach. Unlike these dogs, which were the lucky one, they have hopes and kindness from the viewers like us. If I would choose, killing and eating a dog is more cruelty then abandoning them. But we can't stop them because there're no laws or animal rights in other countries D:
What good work they are doing, and good on pedigree for donating the money. If yuo would like to see some Aussie rescue dogs and help them out please go to my page and watch my rescue dogs video. They need your help! Thank you!
GOD is watching us every second, what we do good or bad, whatever we do for good or bad will turn three times multiply by seven, it's true. There is a history of a man who got tired of his loyal dog. When he bacame old he throwed away on streets to died of hungry. Everynight the dog came near his owner to make sure he was ok. One day his boss was badly hurt by bandits, he felt the dangerour run inside found it on the floor, barking alert the neighbors, he save him.
@rautatieomena Thanks for watching the film. It's so sad that dogs like Charlie are abandoned every day in the UK. Luckily, Charlie has a happy ending in part four - but not all dogs are as lucky as he was. Thanks for your support for the campaign - (I'm sorry it made you cry - it gets me every time as well).
I cannot understand this mindset. This breaks my heart. So someone cannot make the effort to re-home their unbeloved pet or relinquish to an animal shelter where they at least have a chance to be adopted or at the very least be euthanized humanely, no abandon your pet to a slow, agonizing death. What is going on in your mind?
@2010Vonda Thanks for your support, Vonda. It's always sad when a dog is abandoned, and it's even sadder that it happens to so many dogs each year. The adoption drive is about helping to find happy homes for as many dogs as possible, and we've got some more video clips coming soon to show the very real difference that donations to rescue centres can make.
I feel for these dog,s ,why don,t people realize that these dog,s are very precious.I watch the Animal Planet and see this all the time .It make,s me cry when I see this that people don,t have enough love for these dog,s Just wanted to comment and say this... Thank,s..
How can someone do this? One day you wake up and realise that you are ready to have a baby. You tell your wife-husband,.. you make it,... you get it,... If there is no any feelings about pets, animals... why to get one?!
I will never truly understand how anyone could even abandon a helpless creature, like a dog, let alone harm them. :(
These dogs (or any pet) deserve our support because we human beings created the idea of a domestic dog. We all have a right to own a dog but there is ALSO the responsibility of providing for all their needs.
Dogs are born with unconditional trust in us and it's not right that it is abused.
Seriously consider adoption before breeders cos there are some amazing dog out there!
this really touched my heart! the poor dog was eating glass omg really why should anyone think they have the right to leave a dog on its own? it really makes me wanna cry
aww my little dog looks alot like this incredible dog..it's funny because i found my dog on street she was skinny, barely any fur it truely is the most upsetting thing to see really. It makes you sick to think people leave thier dogs like this..
So so true - and such a well-done video! This dog is a great actor; he deserves an award for this! This should be shared on every social network out there - talk about INFECT TRUTH!
How true, and such a well-done video! This needs to be shared on every social network out there - talk about INFECT TRUTH! Fuck nicotine - promote anti-animal abuse and mistreatment! That's the real problem in society today!
People which are so cruel and abandon their friends like that should die...really...I hate unresponsible people whithout feelings. For them abandon a dog is not a big deal...it's so sad.I wish that maybe someday everything will be different.
@stefanj11 your probably the retard who disliked the vid... by the way you love your cat way more than it loves you... you look for attention from your cat... your cat only loves you for food... it's a fact, grow up you 27 year old fool.
I couldn't bear to watch this but know how many animals suffer from cruelty at the hand of humans. We should be ashamed of ourselves for the way we treat non-human sentient beings.
keep up the good work, wearefordogs, god bless you all, ive added everyone for this video, every little helps to make a BIG difference for all the little lost souls out there that need our help xxxxxxx
I have just had a cocker spaniel puppy from a breeder as I live at home, but I want to have another when i get married in a few years time and this has confirmed Im going down the rescue root as I am getting into agility as well and it gives these poor animals a new lease of life! x
@shawadawada Why would you buy from a breeder when there are animals in shelters who are unwanted and will die because there are no room? Finally I get to say, it's people like you who kill the animals in the shelters who are there waiting to be adopted with supporting backyard breeding. You can get pure bred dogs from shelters if you do some research and make phone calls.
@cdkreturns who the hell are you to judge me? I had to have one from a breeder for allergy reasons as I know im not allergic to black cocker spaniels and with cockers you have to be careful because of cocker rage and aggression issues which Im not going to go into but I have had them all my life so know enough about them myself. ( a kc registered all above board one that is NOT a puppy farm and doesn't take part ion backyard breeding) get your interpretation right before you have a go!
@shawadawada It's not people like me at all that kill these dogs so get of your high horse. I support my local shelter and have rescued dogs myself and kept them until I have found their rightful owner. I love my dogs to bits. I know you can get pure bred dogs you can also go to special rehoming services for specific breed types like the cocker spaniel rehoming club. So i know far more about it than in my original post so p*** off elsewhere to judge people!
@shawadawada Again, there are "cockers" in shelters that can be adopted but you decide to patron losers who want to make money off their female dog. Go to hell and think of every animal that will be heartsticked tonight because you bought from a breeder.
@cdkreturns again read afore mentioned post I know there are cockers in shelters. The caessr for one! There's not enough space on here to type all about why I had my dog from where I had him from. A lot of it was to rescue him from a situation in which he was being kicked and abused! I now have a dog who I've spent a lot of money on due to aggression issues and he's bitten and I mean done damage because of his insecurities and had he gone anywhere else hed have had to be put to sleep.
@cdkreturns but with me he has a great life and an active life. And if you knew more about me than these comments allow you'd know I donate a lot of money to CAESSR and time to the ykc but you judged from an initial comment I left in support and got on my back straight away. Maybe you should have thought about the impact your comments would have had had I been a child! You don't know a lot about me or my home situation or the reasons I had a dog so be a bit more considerate not hateful.
It's so good to see all of your supportive comments. Please keep sharing this video to spread the word about the plight of abandoned dogs. We've nearly reached our 25,000 views target that will reveal the next episode of Charlie's story! With your help we can make a real difference in the lives of so many dogs. Thank you!
@mbenson2790 You are really uneducated. Stay in school... forever. It's people like you who should be treated like the dog in the video. It's more than two dogs that get tied to a pole and left to die.
Are you aware of anti-tethering laws? Do you know how many idiots chain their dogs and then leave the property? Why not talk to Dog Deserve Better to get some facts.
@cdkreturns when did i say that there arn't laws against it? all im saying is it barley ever happens. why do all of you peta freaks respond to simple criticism with an insult? how about the number of dogs that peta puts to sleep each year. i think that should be a commercial insted... you are right about being uneducated, the dog deserves better website won't educate me how many dogs are left like that each year, probably is like 2
@dynastygal when i said peta freak i was talking about acual peta members. ALSO, i recieved no "truth" from anyone. all i am doing as is asking questions. the only statistic i can find is that about 100,000 dogs are left stranded, but i can't find anything on the number that are left tied up. thats all i want to find out.
@mbenson2790 Why do you think I'm a PETA freak? I didn't say I belong to Peta. But you uneducated idiots always think that because that's the only organization you know & can type because it's 4 letters. There are more than 2 dogs in the world being left like this. For you to type a comment like that shows you are uneducated in animal cruelty. What about dogs that are dumped and left for dead? That's located in "Corridor of Cruelty" in Texas. Get a refund on your education. It's not helping.
@cdkreturns it was a metaphor for you being over reactive about something you can never prevent, and something so insignificant there are not even statistics for... all i want to see is how many of those 100,000 dogs are left tied up like that, but keep bringing up my education instead of sticking to the real issue- it makes you look smart.... and it makes me look like a broken record, repeating the same thing over and over again.
i really can't understand how people can be so cruel to animals, when ever i see videos of articles ect about animal cruelty it always makes me cry, Thank god for all those that are there to rescue animals, or do any thing to help stop the cruelty, just spare a thought also for those animals that aren't so lucky and get missed.
Luckily, Charlie's being played by a dog that has a very happy home - our campaign mascot, Tripp. But not every dog is so lucky. Thank you for your support, and please keep spreading the word.
i really love dogs and this episode made me cry i want to get a dog but its really dificult because of the cost i don really mind taking the dog to the vet or for a walk but taking to the vet it will cost a lot of money and if i had enoth money (icome from another country so my parents says that its too expensive to have a dog) i will adot a dog and love that dog i would do anything to have a dog like charlie
This is a great idea and in the next few days I will ask PetStreet's 10,000 members to view this video. Though in the UK we like to think of ourselves as a nation of animal lovers I do wonder when I see shocking abandonment statistics like these. The challenge is to change the 'easy come, easy go' attitude to dog ownership. I wonder if it is just too easy to obtain a dog, or any other pet for that matter. Maybe dog ownership should be re-assessed as a privilege, not a right.
@PetStreetFilms Thank you - Pedigree will donate £1 for every viewing, up to £100,000. So it would be brilliant if your members got involved. Thanks for helping us spread the word, it's so sad when dogs are abandoned. We want to help as many dogs as possible to find long-term, happy homes.
