Malmsteen is just the most amazing guitatist. All modern metal solos emanate his style he created in the 80s. The stuff he comes up with is just unbelievable....just cant stand looking at him sometimes though....
This is a great song. I hear alot of Major and some breif Pentatonic, along with minor, and harmonic minor.He is technically sound. I love the arpeggios and melodic chorus.I am still into the neo classical sound of the great Ingwie Malmsteen!
The main problem I have with Petrucci worship is that if you really analyze his style , its actually quite simplistic and unimaginative , he plays right through the scale with evenly spaced notes which is really easy to do even fast , and the scales he employs are the fairly generic harmonic minor and phrygian you would find in any remedial theory book ! Here's an experiment , learn a Petrucci solo , get it up to speed , you will eventually nail it easily because its mechanical...

Most of that "evenly spaced" playing that non-Petrucci players do isn't even and isn't one note per pluck. I've played 12 years and can tell you playing Petrucci perfectly is very difficult and I grew up on Vai and others. I don't worship the guy, but I respect him because he's a genuine good guy.

My friend plays the guitar and had no words to describe the speed and the perfect technique. I started playing at 21 years old. Picked it up like a bird that has his childrens under his wings. After 6 month i was easily skilled enough to master bodoms songs/solo and perfect it with guitar pro 5. After 2 year, i got bored, it wasnt a challenge. This song is extemly easy to play by the way. The only thing that i had trouble playing was yngwie malmsteen solos. I gived up even after trying to play it at 50% speed. Besides i cant afford to waste 8 hours per day. Waste of time.
