  • Malcolm X! REAL TALK! That man is awesome!

  • Look black women it's grows out of your head like that so start appreciating it.

  • AGREED..

  • CORRECTION not all full black people have "nappy" hair and the grade of your hair is not determined by your skin color so it doesnt matter if your light dark ect i hate when people assume since your light skin you have better hair or even if your mixed i noe a lot of biraicial ppl that dont have "nice" hair and that wear extensions and extensions can be used for various reasons not only for length some of you are ignorant when it comes to this topic

  • true!!!

  • We don't think that we're better than anyone else. What makes you think that? If you're assuming that we think that we're better because we tell black people to love their hair then you are wrong. The whole point of telling other black people to love our hair is because so many people have something negative to say about it. It has nothing to do with thinking that we're better. But, I know that you'll never understand what the message behind this documentary is even if I explain a million times.

  • WTF?You proly dont even have any black friends or associates. If I or anyone in my family thought we were better than anyone we would not not surround ourselves with ALL people. We have been made to feel that we r not beautiful because we are not white for centuries! Learning to love ourselves does not mean we think we are better than ANYONE. Statistics show we(blk ppl) marry out side our race more than any other culture! We already knew that we are all the same! My husband is Native American btw.

  • Your ignorance is AMAZING!! Most black women are BEAUTIFUL.. It's all in the eye of the beholder. I see so many beautiful black women every day. I'm one of them. I have natural nappy, strong, shiny, BEAUTIFUL, non permed hair.

  • no offense,whitebeauty30 but i think what you said was racist..but did u seen all of the black woman in the world??...girl...there some people are beautiful & some are ugly in any race...but it really does matter if you are beautiful on the inside...& have self confidence...u can get anybody with those two...ok

  • no offense, but i think what you said was racist..but did u seen all of the black woman in the world??...girl...there some people are beautiful & some are ugly in any race...but it really does matter if you are beautiful on the inside...& have self confidence...u can get anybody with those two...ok

  • It's about time we define ourselves. Our daughters are depending on us to speak out and be proud of what we have. Our sons need to know that we are beautiful as we are and they need to be taught to appreciate us. Our sons and daughters need to know that natural is normal and it's good.

  • True chemically relaxed hair does change molecular structure of black hair as does dying hair but that still should be a individual choice to do for ones own self satisfaction No one should have the right to deictate what another should like or dislike in relation to his or her own fashion style Black people are to critical on what blackness style truly is other races have choices and so should black people

  • Why can't when it comes to black people admit that those that relax their hair have just as much right to do so as a person with straight hair has the right to change their hairstyle(dreads) Why do blacks limit whatever style they chose for themselves it's like you want to control each other with sameness everyone should choose for themselves and their taste of style

  • theres over a million different african oriented hairstyles black women hate themselves as simple as that

  • It's not that. But you can tell the difference between style and self loathing. If you are willing to go without food or rent to keep your hair straight. Or if you process it som much that its fried and breaks off in clumps. That's the issue. So many Women do this to keep their hair straight but it looks like a mess. They are afraid of the nappy

  • I sort of agree with you but a relaxer denatures /changes the chemical structure of your hair. It can be very dangerous. Anyway, black women have been conditioned to dislike their hair by society.

  • People worldwide please note all the videos black women have on hair BUT NOT ONE VIDEO DEDICATED TO THEIR FAILING SONS!

They spend billions on hair but not one website with instruction on how to raise and nurture successful sons! Do they really care? You decide people of the world!

  • Blk ppl r mixd u retardz.

  • I think she mean's high yellow verses darker ppl of African descent. Yes we are all mixed but There are some features that are expressed more in some of us. Slave masters used to treat their lighter sknned illegitimate kids better than the dark skined ones which is where this comes from

  • Lots of mixed people wear their hair natural because THEY ARE NOT TAUGHT THEIR HAIR IS UGLY. If you are Black and you have hair with a looser curl pattern, you will also feel better about wearing your hair natural. I'm Black (two Black parents), like all Black people I have a curl pattern, but my hair is NAPPY AND Guess what?!?! I LOVE IT...I dont really care who doesnt. All that matters is I do

  • yeah a lot of mixed people like myself wear our hair natural, maybe becuz we aren't self conscience. I wear a curly fro, and my hair is a lot like Kelis'. A lil bit like Alicia Keys. A lot of mixed blacks have curly hair. I think with darker skinned blacks its becuz they haven't been loved by their skin, their features, etc. so they opt for weave. It makes them look more European. Its a lot of black women's insecurity their hair. Society did this to us with the good hair bad hair shit.

  • Cool, has anyone ever noticed that mixed coloured people ususally wear their hair naturally cause I've seen laodz of mixed people with afros, dreds etc, and not many black people with natura hair. and most black woman have relaxed hair, and mist men have shaved hair....

  • I think many darker skinned black women would rather have lighter skin than straight hair but if they can't make their skin light then they'll at least get their hair straightened. The more upper class black women can get expensive weave like Beyonce since it's less taxing on their scalp

  • be blessed brother
