I remember when I was a kid my mom would wake us up by turning the light on and singing this song to us. It used to aggravate the hell out of me. I mean it's a good song but not first thing in the morning.
Love Donald O'Connor - so adorable and incredibly talented! He won a Golden Globe for his role as Cosmo. Check out his other movies with fantastic dancing and romantic numbers, as well as great singing. He could do it all!
At the very end of it comes one of these moments where they slowly die down on the laughter until there is an awkward moment of silence. Then they really show her a "good morning."
actually there were 9 camera cuts during that scene which makes 10 shots spliced together. but I will admit it is one of the great classic musical scenes.
@infernofmars I posted that 3 years ago and with age has come wisdom. Im smart enough to not to make myself look foolish by defending something silly I said years ago. I'll admit my comment was not thought threw.
But your delicate sigh may be a waste of breath, I probably can lead a nation.
@infernofmars I posted that 3 years ago. I was wrong, but now I'm smart enough that I probably could run a nation.. HOWEVER your apparently not smart enough to realize no man lives on the moon, nevermind inside of it?
Freedom of speech gives people like you a chance to embarrass themselves :)
@Wrenman You don't understand what I was implying there; ppl can say what ever they want to say, whenever, that's what I meant. My line about the moon was a metaphorical example of the possibilty of that :P. Kind of like what you did(saying what you want), but I dunno, I needed to reply to your comment lols. xD If you think that was embarrassing, oh well to you :P, wasn't to me xD.
Man, I'm glad my parents made sure I watched classics like this...It would have been a pure shame if I hadn't grown to appreciate the classics. BTW: I do find it humorous that they all just so happened to be wearing tap shoes that evening...and knew their song and dance numbers so "spontaneously"...Excellent video and thanks for bringing back some great memories!
Same here. I am the only girl in my school who goes humming "All I do Is dream of you" I WISH I WAS BORN IN THE FIFTIES! I would be in nostaligia heaven.
God bless you, Massie -- you were born at JUST the right time -- we didn't have YouTube, or even the internet, back in the Fifties! Be glad you live RIGHT NOW, my friend!
What a brilliance appearances. I'm impressed. It is a pleasure to see the movie again and again. Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds and Donald O Connor were fantastic. Great work. Your are my idols.

@Wrenman LOL, Ppl can stay up late talking about the man in the moon even. It's called "freedom of speech".
(and i think the world takes a delicate sigh of relief knowing that Wrenman is not a future leader of a nation ;) lolll

from what I know about old musicals, they didn't have taps on, they did it in a foley stage afterwards.

There is nothing like the grace of Gene Kelly. These actors were the REAL DEAL as triple threats. Groomed and polished.
When is the last time you saw an actor who was groomed and polished in 2008?
It's a sad testiment to our times and for what passes so easily over most pallets as 'entertainment.'
I was born in the wrong decade for sure!
