  • Do you pronounce the ai together like eye, or do you pronounce it like ha-ee(if you say it fast it sounds like hi anyway), because when I look it up everyone says that each syllable is pronounced individually, then I look at pronunciation videos and they all say it as one syllable.

  • inuyasha= awsome!!!!!! japanese awsomer!!!!!!!

  • lets me understand anime better

  • @iNVaDeRtEmp thats why im here 2 xD

  • I like this because you don't have to pay and i was wondering if you teach the writing later on?

  • arigatou~ :3

  • arigato gozaimasu .... haiii -- this video was good and very helpful for the maybe xD

gomen nasai make some more xD

  • i really want to learn japanese

  • Although I like this lesson, I wouldn't advise using 「いいえ」(iie) to answer every question you would've answered "no" on.

It's better to kind of "soften" the negative response by saying

    「ちがう」(chigau) - Nonpolite

    「ちがいます」 (chigaimasu) - Polite

which means something like "It's different".

いいえ (iie) can sound quite harsh, especially in a formal conversation.

Because Japanese is a quite nuanced language, you gotta be careful with what you say, that's one thing I learned from studying it.

    がんばってね!

  • T_T it's so hard for me... the only problem is that all that i memorized are words... it's not like i can have a conversation with a Japanese person

  • Dioooooos, que la japo esta me diga cómo se llama, y la pong'un kiosko'n la Gran Vía.... 'ta com'un cheese.

    こんな大好きな美人...

  • @KARR5000 that really makes no sense seeing as Yoi means, good, or ready.. heehee

  • Yuu-[SAN] reminds me while watching some anime some of there name ends in chan, san, kun, sempai, etc like Yuu-[san]

  • How do you say Government in Japanese?

  • @Kameco312

    choo choo

  • @Kameco312 government is seiji or seifu

    written as 政治 or 政府

  • shez hot!

  • @narwaaa

She sure is! what do you think I'm learning japanese for?!

  • this is exactly what I was looking for in learning the fundamental basics of japanese, thanks!

  • this seems easy enough

  • its difficult to learn english with this hoooooooooooooooooooooooooot theacher^^

    is there a word with only one ''i'' ?? exampel : ie??^^

  • ie = house, and according to my teacher, its only used if you are talking about the building, not as a home that people would live in.

  • LOL, i wish my jap teacher was kind like her. -sigh-

  • Domo arigato gozahemasu

  • in my language, romanian "hai" means "let's go" and "iie" it's some sort of shirt so it's funny learning this words with another meaning...at first i was confused...

  • do i love this vid?

    HAI

  • the same for me

  • arigatou for the lessons :)

  • I thought "Tabun" meant "probably". Could some one help me? I heard this word in animes/j dramas and the sub says "probably" :/

  • the same word can mean different things in context, so tabun means both maybe and probably

  • omg isn't maybe and probably almost the same? not much difference to get confused over, its pretty self explanatory...

  • probably and maybe would fit in the same category

  • some words have the same meaning, or are spelled the same just like in english like

    "If i cry i have a Tear"

but if i shred a paper it has a "Tear"

  • Wow that was easy , very nice too learn some new words I go to resturant sometime I suprise them next time.

  • BEAUTIFUL

  • @Userguape yes she is.

  • i have to learn japanese for my anime-addicted friends who seems to be going haywire.

  • Lol me 2

  • yay im learning :D

  • lmfao i said tabun gas and she said very good XD

  • I heard most the people use Un, for yes. most the younger age area says hai is for older people or used mainly in class. But this works.

  • yea I noticed that a lot too. Usually they say with there mouths closed.

  • pretty jap girl i want to learn with that cute

  • My friend is japeneese but he doesnt know any english so I'm learning japaneese for his benefit :)

  • as for me it's for anime addict friends so i dont get out of place

  • @ElziexXXx thats very nice of you to do that for your friend how is it going now

  • @ElziexXXx your lucky to have a japanese friend then he can teach you something like how to speak more fluently

  • @ElziexXXx english actually was derived from japanese. and so was pizza.

  • @ElziexXXx me too !! :D

  • @ElziexXXx so how do you communicate with him?

  • i knew hai meant yes, but i thought "chikau" meant no. coud someone correct me?

  • if u say chikasu it means Dickcheese,

  • nvm.

  • lol

  • "chikau" 「誓う」 means to take an oath, vow, or pledge.

    私はやってないよ!私は誓う!

watashi ha yattenaiyo! watashi ha chikau!

    I didn't do it! I swear!

Bad example, but you get what I mean...

  • well i learn isn't that the point u people r stupid beyond belief lol

  • fgt detected. nice video btw :D

  • There's more to japanese then just anime you idiot.

Why don't you pick up a text book or take classes to PROPERLY learn japanese.

  • all he said is he know yes no and maybe

    which is pretty basic

  • you should since it gives your statement no meaning

  • all i wanted to say is you shouldnt get mad at the guy for saying he know yes and no from anime

  • Ohhh......But I wasn't angry.I was just saying.

  • ok ok

ive only been reading manga time for some anime

  • Thanks this is great it's so easy ^_^

  • wow all i known of japanese till now was BAN KAI!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Obviously a Bleach fan.

  • Wow. The girl in this is kinda hot. Reminds me of Jewels from Heartsdales

  • This girl teaches really well. I wish she had a website or something so we could learn more

  • You are an awesome teacher. You're almost too cute though, it's distracting. LOL Keep up the great videos.

  • Ahh I was right!

    It is with an "H"..

So many people think it's "AI"..

But I had noticed (i watch a lot of anime I like watching it with the text sub-titles) and I noticed the "H" HAI!..

Also correct me if I am wrong but isn't hai used for just about everything?

I mean I have heard Japanese people walk in to a room say "HAI" and bow to each other..

I could sware I heard them get each others attention that way too.. sort of like HEY!!... HAI!! (kind of like "look at me"...)

    Am I right?

  • It's has various different meanings it's short snappy pronunciation can be used to grab attention and generally save time.

  • wow, this is actually REALLY helpful.

    thanks !

  • love your videos ~

  • eeto... tabun...~

  • lol i can just imagine myself going to japan and making a complete prat out of myself by appearing to say "yes" to someone randomly when i meet them!

  • Your videos are great, all saved as favourites!!!! :-D

  • hajime mashite watashi wa kamiki desu^^

I started to learn japanese today^^

  • anime okami = anime wolf xD

Pretty weird that I'm unable to find books about Japanese language in my local library... :(

  • I can't find any ehter

  • I have had the same problem.

    Chinese is everywhere..

But Japanese seems non existent in the US..

I want to learn some (if not all) of the language simply because it only seems fair.. We have so much from Japan.. Cars games computers cartoons.. Just about all our machines have something from Japan in it..

Yet we, (Americans) seem to shun learning their language or learn some of their customs.. Why is that? Well, I want to learn!

  • tabun ,, like this word :P lol I can teasemy frinz haha

  • i really want to learn how to speak japanese and i think you will be my teacher for that :)

  • arigato sensei! i hope i said that right
