  • that was awesome. I would have paid good money to be there. The best I have ever heard it. Just close your eyes and it transports you to dreamland

  • @jhill74893 I paid good money to be there last year when it was performed again. :-)

  • @lazza747 thanx for supporting the proms. 10:06 minutes of sheer heaven. The conductor looks like is really feeling the music. I have been to the albert hall on 3 occasions and have seen the first night of the proms. It is a great venue.

  • @jhill74893 We did five Proms last year, and got the Last Night too! Three of the gigs were Mahler. I've been to the Albert Hall for dozens of occasions since 1996.

  • The strings could be more together

  • I'd like to meet the two people who dislike this. Should be interesting.

  • Mahler's love letter to his beloved wife Alma.Soft, painful, and very beautiful!!

One of the best performances ever.

  • Awesomely beautiful music. Like all great music it has a spiritual element to it.

  • So so beautiful, will the heart survive much more emotion.

  • Morte a Venezia... Death in Venice...

  • Thank you, maestro.

  • 2:02 that violinist on the upper left corner she is hot

  • @agrippa9 Wich one ? The blond one or the brune one?

Obviously, I do prefer the brunette

  • @ephtime the blond, the bruny is fine too. Now more people would go to listen classical music if they knew what they were missing out on :)

  • Profundo y conmovedor. Lo único que me gusta de Mahler.

  • This is beautiful, it makes you think, "What inspired him to create such a masterpiece?" Bravo! Thank you so much for posting this!

  • In "With These Eyes" a young woman embarks on a journey that holds the pieces to the puzzle that will reveal the secret behind Quantum Energy.

Buddhist wisdom and the goodness of her heart are the only weapons Isabelle de Fleur possesses in her battle against an army of covert spies sworn to protect their employer at all cost.

Dr. Chukanov's real life Quantum Generator serves as the inspiration to a free society in this suspensful and wittingly entertaining novel by Horst Steiner.

  • WOW!! Thanks for sharing...

  • Gliding across endless green fields....

  • yo!!!!! this is so good!!!! espically cuz itz from the world orchestra!!!!when i grow up i wanna me a part of it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @MrSecureT Or, at least, Alma claimed he did... (I recommend the page "Alma problem" on wikipedia)

  • 1 dislike?? wtf

  • christ. :(

  • This is the sound of tender and passionate love...period!

  • it is impossible to put into words how beautiful this piece is

  • Don't really like the 'for peace' part of it(John Lennon was a pretentious douchebag) but Mahler was one of the greatest composers I've every heard.

  • I want this playing as I enter Heaven's gates and stand before the Almighty. So stunningly beautiful, it makes me cry.

  • It sounds so mournful but I believe it is actually a declaration of his love for Alma, a love song, if you wish though I'm bound to be corrected at some point! Whatever it is, it emcompasses every emotion known to humankind in ten glorious minutes. Truly awesome.

  • yea, it really does sound like ocean waves.

  • I cannot stop watching this, simple as. Mesmorising.

  • 5:14 - 5:40 it does sound like quiet ocean waves... this adagietto is so beautiful it hurts...

  • this is perfection.

  • Thank You For The Upload

  • Once you go Mahler, you never go back!!

  • Qué sonido tan maravilloso. Bravo!

  • There is so much pain and sadness in this amazingly beautiful music.

  • The Adagietto reverberates of purest mourning. If you listen closely, you can hear angels weeping.

  • moves me deeply unquestionably, lifts me high......this music is from the heavens.

  • I think it should be slightly slower...

  • This is one of my favorite. It was used in the movie:" Death in Venice," starring Dirk Bogard and Silvana Mangano, directed by Luccino Visconti. A beautiful film with this magnificent music by Mahler.

    Jubinne

  • without doubt the best hearing of this motion! very good

  • GO vibrato go! :)

  • Unfathomably, fantastically, categorically stunningly beautiful.

  • The most beautiful Movement of all Mahler's Symphonies, all strings, with this piece of music Gustav Mahler declared love to Alma, it's full of emotion.

  • Its like a 10 minute ride throught the clouds and the sky. So beautiful...

  • Awesome. Mahler will be remembered as the greatest composer of the 20th century, IMO.

  • if boredom is getting all over me, or reason is abandoning me, I stop, listen to this, and everything falls right in its place again...

  • I can't stop crying... such emotion.

  • So beautiful...

  • Thank you. It looked familiar but I couldn't place it.

  • Just saw Death In Venice again, and I had to come listen to this beautiful piece of music whose composer was the inspiration behind the novella

  • Anyone know what the venue is? Beautiful hall.

  • @gumpgarbonzo um its the royal albert hall..

  • given the skill required in producing a work of this nature,it is hard at times 2 believe it was written by a human hand.it has 2 go down as one of the greatest works of art ever.it could b no less.always astounds me lisening 2 it.

  • @MysteriousPainter – friend I hurry forget to dedicate to you a peaceful lovely composition, think of you as learn more of you I think as of us as one in many ways so many good, healthful beneficial relationship ways unique person, unique composition I think fits you perfectly so beautiful, not glamour, glamour fades not true beauty – Yes I like this for you – so my little dedication for my good friend – hope you like from “The Peace Orchestra” makes even more special, for YOU

  • Great accuracy and finesse in the way Valery Gergiev conducts the orchestra. The tempo is slow and ample with a beautiful inner beauty. The tension, melancholy and sadness one after one another appear in every music inflections. One of the best interpretation I have ever heard.

  • beautiful. just played this last night at the cultural center of the Philippines with Manila Symphony Orchestra under Arturo Molina.

  • Love Gergiev. Listen to that contrabasso in the last sixty seconds; ye gods, what a sound!

  • don't mean to be smart... but does anyone know what purpose does the shaking of the hand effect in his conducting?

  • @FungoBoy

In an interview with Valery Gergiev, I believe he said he is trying to sculpt the music with his hands.

  • @FungoBoy I guess that's basically what every conductor trying to do; I'm just wondering if there would be any difference at all if he did the exact same gestures without the shaking...because otherwise it just seems distracting...

  • Brilliant beauty

  • Each word is unnecessary .... Masterpiece Video !!!!!!

  • Maravilloso video.

  • brits r the best..

  • Beautifully conducted.

  • Beautiful

  • A little bit slow for me but still a very lovely interpretation.

  • @norrisonthespot are there variations in the tempo of performances then? I suppose its all down to interpretation of the conductor. I love it personally. Probably the most beautiful piece I've ever heard.

  • tout simplement sublime!

  • Una delle poesie più belle scritta dal grande Mahler che entra dolcemente nel cuore..

    Grazie! :)

  • thank you for putting this up

    Tutto straordinario!!

  • Tempi are too slow. There seems to be an overwhelming desire of a lot of conductors to "schmaltz it up" with this Mvt. This needs to move a long a little more and let the music speak for itself.

  • What a Heavenly sound!!

  • @dantesilv you're a cunt/ listen to 50 cent fam

  • @mynameistomdunlea22 thx brother your great too

  • fantastico,maravilhosa essa audição do 4 mov.
