@lazza747 thanx for supporting the proms. 10:06 minutes of sheer heaven. The conductor looks like is really feeling the music. I have been to the albert hall on 3 occasions and have seen the first night of the proms. It is a great venue.
@jhill74893 We did five Proms last year, and got the Last Night too! Three of the gigs were Mahler. I've been to the Albert Hall for dozens of occasions since 1996.
In "With These Eyes" a young woman embarks on a journey that holds the pieces to the puzzle that will reveal the secret behind Quantum Energy.
Buddhist wisdom and the goodness of her heart are the only weapons Isabelle de Fleur possesses in her battle against an army of covert spies sworn to protect their employer at all cost.
Dr. Chukanov's real life Quantum Generator serves as the inspiration to a free society in this suspensful and wittingly entertaining novel by Horst Steiner.
It sounds so mournful but I believe it is actually a declaration of his love for Alma, a love song, if you wish though I'm bound to be corrected at some point! Whatever it is, it emcompasses every emotion known to humankind in ten glorious minutes. Truly awesome.
This is one of my favorite. It was used in the movie:" Death in Venice," starring Dirk Bogard and Silvana Mangano, directed by Luccino Visconti. A beautiful film with this magnificent music by Mahler.
The most beautiful Movement of all Mahler's Symphonies, all strings, with this piece of music Gustav Mahler declared love to Alma, it's full of emotion.
given the skill required in producing a work of this nature,it is hard at times 2 believe it was written by a human hand.it has 2 go down as one of the greatest works of art ever.it could b no less.always astounds me lisening 2 it.
@MysteriousPainter – friend I hurry forget to dedicate to you a peaceful lovely composition, think of you as learn more of you I think as of us as one in many ways so many good, healthful beneficial relationship ways unique person, unique composition I think fits you perfectly so beautiful, not glamour, glamour fades not true beauty – Yes I like this for you – so my little dedication for my good friend – hope you like from “The Peace Orchestra” makes even more special, for YOU
Great accuracy and finesse in the way Valery Gergiev conducts the orchestra. The tempo is slow and ample with a beautiful inner beauty. The tension, melancholy and sadness one after one another appear in every music inflections. One of the best interpretation I have ever heard.
@FungoBoy I guess that's basically what every conductor trying to do; I'm just wondering if there would be any difference at all if he did the exact same gestures without the shaking...because otherwise it just seems distracting...
@norrisonthespot are there variations in the tempo of performances then? I suppose its all down to interpretation of the conductor. I love it personally. Probably the most beautiful piece I've ever heard.
impresionante, magnifico, sublime.
Tempi are too slow. There seems to be an overwhelming desire of a lot of conductors to "schmaltz it up" with this Mvt. This needs to move a long a little more and let the music speak for itself.
that was awesome. I would have paid good money to be there. The best I have ever heard it. Just close your eyes and it transports you to dreamland

Obviously, I do prefer the brunette

Don't really like the 'for peace' part of it(John Lennon was a pretentious douchebag) but Mahler was one of the greatest composers I've every heard.

don't mean to be smart... but does anyone know what purpose does the shaking of the hand effect in his conducting?

In an interview with Valery Gergiev, I believe he said he is trying to sculpt the music with his hands.
