  • pt. 3 of 3

    We are suburban homeboys

With our suburban ho's right by our sides

We are suburban homeboys and we say yo dog and we mean it, by God

We've got an old school mentality

    Oxford and Cambridge mentality

Props to our peeps and please keep your receipts

    And we are suburban homeboys

    [repeat 3x]

  • Innovators! Flatout... Brilliant!

  • maddeningly brilliant

  • When I first heard this I thought it were the beatles xD

  • brilliant

  • Is there a place for Sparks in the R+R Hall of Fame ? Ron + Russ = Genius.

  • @pogsquatch ... deep inside you know you are SOOOOOO RIGHT!!!! The day it happens, people in California should do a remake impersonation of The Day the Earth Stood Still . All rise for Ronald and Russell Maël !!! Greetings from sunny Portugal ( going through a dark grey cloud - Lights out Ibiza!)

  • Ladies and gentlemen - I love "les freres" to death....however, for those of you who are English and of a certain age, all I'll say is (and sing along now!!):

"Back home, they'll be thinking about us

    When we are far away"

  • @harrymapex What

  • @Mesarphelous Please sir, take no offence! As I've mentioned elsewhere, I've just rediscovered Sparks, have bought several CDs, and am staggered by the revelation of their brilliance. What I referred to (in the comment I made) was that, having qualified for the 1970 soccer World Cup finals, the England team made a 45 called "Back home", which bears a startling resemblance to this tune.......but I love this song, and thanks for posting it!

  • @harrymapex You're on the internet. You don't have to apologize for shit.

  • @Mesarphelous Common courtesy, sir......and MERRY CHRISTMAS to you all!!

  • @harrymapex - you're so right ! I too love Sparks and have always loved this song particularly - but now you come to mention it, it does remind me of that 70's football song !

  • @JohnnyLovely2 Absolutely not. The world is plagued with thousands of rap parodies already. It is utterly flawless as it is.

  • @Mesarphelous my dad made a rap version of it.. with their consent! They are super nice guys. check it!

  • Soundcloud mr. kilroy :)

  • @JohnnyLovely2 That it's not a rap song and sounds more like a show tune makes the song even funnier,IMO.

  • @JohnnyLovely2 It is a rap song already.....

  • @JohnnyLovely2 It satirizes rap and borrows from it without just being a stale rap-spoof. In other words, it IS a rap song in many ways, and in a much smarter, funnier way than doing just another soundalike satire.

  • haha, this reminds me so much of Monty Python's "Lumber Jack".

    Fantastic ironic tune.

  • Who else but Sparks would come up with this? Love, love, love it..............

  • This is fucking GODLY.

  • joyyy joy joy

  • fucking amazing

  • I was just in a really bad mood, and this cheered me right up! I'd never heard it before just now, I love it :P

  • The lyrics aren't as funny set this music.

  • Lil Beethoven is a fantastic album which I had doubts they could top. Now, with the release of The Seduction of Ingmar Bergman, they have proven they can. I think the new one might just be their best yet.

  • @forloveoffilm From what I've heard the new album is a very MPD (multi personality disorder) affair which features songs from virtually every genre they've explored over their career. I like the "Welcome Mr. Bergman" song as it's got a very classic rock feel to it, reminiscent of their early 70's sound.

  • you are my hero! thank you for posting it.

  • Glad you enjoy it.

  • I like to crank this in the car when I'm sidling up next to douchebags with shitty rap music playing. It's amusing. :D

  • Sparks are actually fans of rap music. :D

  • @fatpizzaman I wonder who they listen to.

  • @rubinoos1 A lot of stuff that nobody else listens to, or used to. They like bands like The Yardbirds, The Beatles, The Sex Pistols, and artists like Peggy Lee, Morrissey, Graeme Revell and a lot of long deceased classical and Romantic music composers.

  • @fatpizzaman Also Franz Ferdinand.

  • There's plenty of good rap music, just turn off the radio.

  • LOL

  • @ladyislingering but you have to remember that Sparks LIKE rap music. That news upset Morrissey quite a bit.

  • love it! *.*
