  • I became an aunt today, and it brings so much meaning to this song.

  • This used to be me and my moms song, but she need away to Iowa, and it's been really hard not seeing her every day.

  • @hotanddangerous333 the part of the song talking about being miles away, made me cry actually. my mom lives in nebraska, and i in chicago. i feel your pain. i just hope i can stay close with my son throughout life

  • Y'all can say what you will but in the end she was right. Bush had no right to be there. His own administration twisted the facts of a situation to start a war. That's been PROVEN. :) Its a known fact. You're wrong she was RIGHT. ROFLMAO!

  • SHUT UP!!!!!!!!!

  • With the end of that senseless war, the terrible loss of so many lives and the USA credibility shattered, time has proved the Dixie Chicks were right all along.

  • I remember a time when we never said anything negative about our president in public. Was she right? That is not for us to judge, yet, she was judged more harshly than I would have ever imagined. What a waste of great entertainment. They are one of the greatest bands of this era. I find it extremely sad that this is what we have come to. I love their music as well as others and what they say does not affect the talents of these women, unfortunately, we still have so much hatred in our world.

  • I think the video is wonderful as well as the Dixie Chicks. We can be mad at whatever we feel is necessary for those who refuse to accept their own anger, yet, how can a country be divided over one singer's response to her opinion about our president at the time. Her life and those of her loved ones were threatened. Freedom of speech? She is still being crucified and it is so sad that our nation does not have better things to do than to put down anyone, look what our nation has done to Obama.

  • this song is amazing. <3

how long do you wanna be loved? is forever enough?? <3 <3

  • great song

  • Check out Roadkill Fur version of Lullaby on you tube. We have done a christmassy LoFi reworking of lullaby with a heartwarming video. hope we've done it justice.

  • So lovely, and so hopeful. In the middle of all that craziness, the girls could record something so beautiful---amazing.

  • @jrcadet4 what kraziness

  • @jrcadet4 agreed 100% well put :)

  • The ugly babies ruined the song.

  • Beautiful song, I love The Dixie Chicks! I wish they'd make another album but that probably wont happen because they've been blacklisted by Country Radio and by many Americans. Not by me though, I love The DC. Such a talented group.

  • @Keezie27 They're getting airplay again, but largely on satellite radio outlets. No local station windows to heave bricks through, I'd guess.

  • @jrcadet4 LOL. YOu are too funny. You think americans would do that. We don't. We simply close our wallets and change the tuned station on our radios. What a dolt you are.

  • @Therealmensa Americans were gulled into destroying tons of Dixie Chicks CDs and DVDs in idiotic public displays; radio-station managers were threatened by crank callers who demanded the Chicks' songs be pulled from playlist rotation. It's well documented in the documentary SHUT UP AND SING.

  • @jrcadet4 LOL. You know nothing, and the proof is that you think Shut Up and Sing is a documentary. You're funny.

  • @Therealmensa Actually we AMERICANS did do that you idiot. It was blasted all over the news and even covered by CNN and Fox. Not only did we AMERICANS burn the cd's and bad mouth them, we have even been known to OMG BURN BOOKS. It has happened over and over in the past, and will continue to happen in the future. And while you may or may not like them that is fine. But do not be blinded just by the fact we are American's. If you wanna know just how crazy our nation is and can be.

  • @justice0218 look up TIME magazines American Issues and compare them with the issue that is distributed in Europe and other contries.

  • @justice0218 No one publicized the dissent against the chicks more than they did themselves. Unpopular music doesn't get played. People who aren't entertaining cease to be "entertainers". Maines made a pandering disingenuous comment on a subject millions were having to take deadly serious. She had her say. Her ex-fans had theirs. A tailspin reduction in profits for the DC's does NOT a national tragedy make. Freedom of speech; a two way street. Get used to it.

  • @justice0218 Historically, you won't find anything except rebroadcast of the small town local news media reports as a 10 second spot on any national affiliate.....with the exception of the propaganda film the Dixie Chicks commissioned and paid for; SUAS. You probably believe the Free Republic could actually organize dissent against the DCs. Not true. That the Red Cross wouldn't take a donation of 1 million from them. Untrue. That a bulldozer was used to crush their Cd's. Untrue. You've been had.

  • This is one of the most beautiful of all songs I've ever heard. Can't wait to compose my own home video with this music!

  • Thanks all you breeders.Babies is cool.

  • Beautiful song

  • what cd is this one?

  • @Rockyourskinnyjeans

Its from "Taking the Long Way." I highly recommend it. Each song in the album has different meanings. From Easy Silence, where you find the person you can run to to keep everything at peace. To Voice Inside My Head, about a woman dealing with giving up her child.

  • This is one of those songs that I'd like to have my first kiss to.

    haha...

  • @ammmunition Heeeh~ Make that two of us! <3

  • love it!

  • What happened to the Dixies did they split or something?

  • @falco1066 yeah, they did a while ago.

  • @falco1066 Nope, they're touring intermittently. They've still got a fan base, but Marti and Emily started their band Court Yard Hounds, and Natalie would rather be off the public's radar for long stretches. Considering what they all went through, I can't blame them.

  • @jrcadet4 Yeah, like it was their idea to "take a break". LOL. "We were selling out until the Dixie Chicks joined the tour," per the Eagles tour manager. They've got a fan base alright; every agenda seeker, latecomer, and misfit.

  • A song of surpassing beauty.

  • 1 of my fave songs of theirs <3

  • r.i.p. j,e,p, forever <3 cause i truely will never forget you

  • <3 <3 u

  • Lovely! <3

  • This song is my Heart. ... love, love, love, LOVE ...

  • 0:51 <333

  • THIS IS THE FREAKIN CUTEST SONG IN THE WORLD i love it more than godspeed this is so beautiful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!^.^

  • my baby love this song :D !!!!!!!!!!!! and so do i and we both do lol jk wedo tho haha

  • i love this song its the best i just love the dixie chicks

  • If life was fair, you would get tons and tons of happiness for all the joy you gave to your listeneres. And looking at those pictures, it seems you did.

That makes me feel good :)

  • 92 people are possessed by a retarded demon.

  • greys anatomy <3

  • @crystalthedrummer medium :)

  • This song is Beutiful

  • i was always thinking, they finished their husband like earl..:-)

  • beautiful.... love it

  • beautiful.....

  • I instantly feel in love with this song because it's so universal. I know it might mostly be for children but everybody wants to be loved :)

  • @therealmensa.. simple FUCK YOU ..YOUR NOT DIXIE..I AM ! 1534 Thomas Ave Charlotte NC come and state your point at MY HOUSE.. Im waitin.. because Im the Real Dixie..like these Patriotic WOmen we are listening too..

  • @ricebiscuit Y everyone so Mad?

  • Our world is different to everyone.....Everyone has their own opinion on things like if I love chocolate my friend might hate chocolate....Everyone has thair own opinion on things....Everyone is uniqe No matter what they do.

  • @Therealmensa okay cleary you are extremely insecure, anyone who needs to lash out at someone like that needs help. Personally i think that the dixie chicks are a fantastic group both as people in general and music wise. No matter what they said(and i congratulate them on saying it) it was a long time ago and its time to move on. Everyone majorally over reacted to Natalie's comment.

  • I want this song played at my funeral. I know sounds kinda weird but I want my children to know that I will love them "FOREVER" and hopefully is "FOREVER ENOUGH" so that they never feel alone.

  • I have been singing this to my preemie in the NICU and she is recovering by leaps and bounds :)

I also sing GodSpeed to my other daughter. :) That way they each have theyre own song,

  • Wish the Dixie Chicks would get bk 2gether. Groups break up and thn get bk 2gether all the time, so im asking y can't theydo it? Personally their music got me through some of the tuffest times of my life, their music held such positivity which I believe is strongly lacking in the music industry today!! I dont care if ppl agree w me but shouldn't it b about the music not fuding political views??

  • We use this for videos about our daughters with Rett Syndrome....it's perfect and pure love! "How long do you wanna be loved...... Is forever enough.......cause I'm never, never giving you up"! Perfectly explains our feelings for our daughters!

  • it seems the song appeal is for kids, but the actual lyrics are about romantic love to me, but when I heard made me think of my husband as well. Either way I love this song very much. I heard it on the show Medium. :)

  • It is significant that every cowboy near these women took a hike after they decided to pander for profit.

  • @Therealmensa WOW u really hit an all time LOW! Your nastiness holds no bounds does it?

  • @yarrahappini The reason you say that is because you hate yourself. In the name of all intelligent, good looking people with normal sized genitalia, I'd like to say we are sorry. Sorry for whatever happened in your formative years that turned you into the colossal prick you are today. Of course, the public school system shares the blame. They didn't take into account your special needs! I don't care if you wet yourself or say stupid things on the internet, by golly, your special!

  • @Therealmensa U r so far off the mark it isnt funny...but hate, vindictiveness and prejudice will cloud and twist your thoughts like the nazis in WWII. But honey it is ok.....I forgive u as u know no better!

  • @yarrahappini Get that retardation checked before you start speaking in front of people. Carry a note from the doctor so you don't get your ass handed to you when you spout your idiocy at others.

  • @Therealmensa As much as I would love to continue this banter I do not have the desire to fight the hatred and nastiness u spout! I hope one day that u will realise that all the anger u have inside and share with us all will fade and u will be happy with life!

PS I STILL LOVE THE DIXIE CHICKS!

  • we make comments to the dixie chicks only because they have such a positive ..love..in there songs to all of us

  • we make any comments to the dixie chicks because they have made such a impact on our lifes with there songs

  • @hithere7700 Yeah, like Goodbye Earl and Not Ready. As long as you have the same sentiment, they are what you say. Disagree and don't buy their albums, you'll get bashed by them.

  • this song brings tears to my eyes. so much pure love.

  • <3 <3 <3

  • we used this song in my winter guard show. it was AMAZING cuz we had a girl on point!

  • this song is just of pure love..apply to those who you love with your heart and soul. To my husband, my sister, my mother, my children and Nicky......You have my love xxx

  • A lot of people think of babies with this song. But, if you pay real attention it is about love with your partner. At least that is what i think...

  • @TheLenbear I think you can use it as whatever way you want to, but its a lullaby (title clearly states it haha) which means its about her child.

  • +1 if you remember this song from an episode of "Medium"

  • @labspanielmix actually that's the reason why i know this song. lol but then i realized it was on the CD

  • @labspanielmix Yeah! but I cant find that clip anywhere! where they kiss in the rain. :)

  • i sang this to my girlfriend while cuddling with her and she started crying...

  • The melody of this song sounds VERY familiar.... I'm pretty sure its another country song slowed down.

  • @Therealmensa that was highly inappropriate

  • @Eva96723 No, making a pandering comment on a subject millions of Americans were having to take deadly serious was inappropriate. Using the Red Cross to try and make it look like GW was getting back at them was inappropriate. Changing her mind on what she meant TWICE and saying she didn't want to be a "flip flopper" was inappropriate. Trying to change the issue from what she said to some sort of bizarre freedom of speech issue was inappropriate. Shall I go on?

  • @Therealmensa

I agree with Eva96723. Please don't disrespect this amazing song with such language, which is highly inappropriate. If you want to discuss Natalie's comment, please do so somewhere else. And I hope you realize that the event of which you speak was in 2003, EIGHT YEARS AGO. Let it go and move on, man!

  • some say a mother is the person who gives you life i say a mother is the one person in the world who cares loves and comforts you in a way nobody else can i love this song

  • Thanks Dixie Chicks for a beautiful song.

I'm a proud GrandPa blessed with my GrandKids Isaac (6 y.o. in July) and Rachael (just turned 4), living with their Daddy (my elder son Michael) and Mommy (Jessica) in St. Albert, AB.

When I heard your song it brought tears to my eyes thinking of my other Little Ones – Leah, Isaiah and Mariah – who never made it into this wonderful world. Please take care of your Kids and Yourselves. Love.

    Max, Abbotsford, BC

  • @nessachacon then get out and away if this video moved you to cry... you find the will to get out.

  • Beautiful....................I learned this lullaby when my twin granddaughters were born four years ago. Thank you so much you FAB DIXIE CHICKS!!

  • thanks purplecd. you are probably correct. it is so beautiful that it doesn't even matter.

  • this is my favorite Dixie Chicks song!

  • Call me dense but what does "they didn't have you where I come from" supposed to mean exactly?

  • @tracydandersen I think it's suppose to mean they never knew that kind of love or connection before and that person brought it to them. i guess it's they didn't know they were missing anything until they had it .

  • @tracydandersen - i'm giving this a shot, but i think it means they mean they never knew of something so pure and innocent until theyre children. the weren't capapble of loving in all it's power until their children gave them reason.....just a guess, but that's what it meant to me (and i don't have children nor do i see myself wanting to have any....so it's not a biased guess)

  • TO CLO CLO AND J BIRD....LOVE MOM

  • I know this is mostly for children, but listening to the lyrics, I fell in love with it when it reminded me of my husband. He's from a different country than me and the opening line "They didn't have you where I come from" made us both love it. We used it as our first dance at our wedding.

  • @LadyTaiy that's adorable!!

  • @LadyTaiy I think of my fiance when i listen to it as well. He is from another country too. so i totally get what you're saying.

  • @LadyTaiy - I used that first line on a picture frame that I used to tell my hubby I was pregnant, which happened to be on our anniversary. Such a sweet song!

  • @LadyTaiy My boyfriend and I are from separate countries as well. That opening line got me too. Everyrthing in this song speaks of our relationship to me.

  • @LadyTaiy That's awesome. I'm surprising my wife "to be" with this as the song to our first dance tomorrow night.

  • @LadyTaiy My boyfriend is also from another country, and the first time I heard this song and that opening line, I just started crying like a baby over it.

  • Love it n love the person for posting it on my wall!!!

  • Beautiful song. Heard it on 'Medium' The television series. The episode was called "Twice upon a time" they played it throughout the episode. I've loved it ever since.

  • simple and wonderful..i love this song

  • I cried like a baby when listening to this song :) I am officially dedicating this song to my unborn child :)

  • What a sweet song...

  • My daughter was stillborn at 38 weeks along and this song is very special to me, I sang it to her through my pregnancy (which was perfectly normal, we didn't expect to loose her at all). We played the song at her memorial service.

  • @0starmama0 im so sorry for your loss. Im sure/hope god will bless you with many healthy children. Never give up.:). I know someone with this same situation and they have a healthy baby now. God bless you and your family.

  • @0starmama0 how sad. I lost 2 children years ago, and thought I'd never have another, but God blessed me with a beautiful daughter named Sarah, who is 16 now and completely full of attitude, but I wouldn't want her any other way. Keep your daughter in your heart, it's not easy, but you'll get through it and willl be a great Mom when the times comes!

  • @0starmama0 im so sorry.

but she's flying with the angels now(:

  • this was the song we played when i walked down the aisle :D
