With the end of that senseless war, the terrible loss of so many lives and the USA credibility shattered, time has proved the Dixie Chicks were right all along.
I remember a time when we never said anything negative about our president in public. Was she right? That is not for us to judge, yet, she was judged more harshly than I would have ever imagined. What a waste of great entertainment. They are one of the greatest bands of this era. I find it extremely sad that this is what we have come to. I love their music as well as others and what they say does not affect the talents of these women, unfortunately, we still have so much hatred in our world.
I think the video is wonderful as well as the Dixie Chicks. We can be mad at whatever we feel is necessary for those who refuse to accept their own anger, yet, how can a country be divided over one singer's response to her opinion about our president at the time. Her life and those of her loved ones were threatened. Freedom of speech? She is still being crucified and it is so sad that our nation does not have better things to do than to put down anyone, look what our nation has done to Obama.

I know this is mostly for children, but listening to the lyrics, I fell in love with it when it reminded me of my husband. He's from a different country than me and the opening line "They didn't have you where I come from" made us both love it. We used it as our first dance at our wedding.

My daughter was stillborn at 38 weeks along and this song is very special to me, I sang it to her through my pregnancy (which was perfectly normal, we didn't expect to loose her at all). We played the song at her memorial service.

My daughter was stillborn at 38 weeks along and this song is very special to me, I sang it to her through my pregnancy (which was perfectly normal, we didn't expect to loose her at all). We played the song at her memorial service.

I lost 2 children years ago, and thought I'd never have another,but God blessed me with a beautiful daughter named Sarah, who is 16 now and completely full of attitude, but I wouldn't want her any other way.
