MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 is just not a good format for recompression (and thats what happens when you upload videos to YouTube). Export your videos as QuickTime (with the ".MOV" extention) and you will love the results!
When i want to upload a video of pictures onto youtube made from windows movie maker, it says i need to export my video because it is .MSWMM and needs to be wmv ...
does anyone know how to export it and make the video .wmv if you do could you PLEASE help me!!
When you save, go to File, Save Movie File, My Computer, enter the desired name of the file and choose where you would like the file to be, next, choose Other Settings and set it to Video for Broadband (512 Kbps)...then just upload your video to YouTube...and youre done!
Youtube videos aspect ratio is 320x240. When u make your videos be sure to make it 320x240 or 640x480. (If u make it 640x480, Youtube will resise it to 320x240.)
also check the setting you're using to prepare it for youtube.
If you've got "letterbox" selected that might be the issue. But I read that keeping the letterbox setting would preserve the original dimensions rather than losing some of the image at the edges.
Nice tutorial, I just used them on a video and was able to reduce the QuickTime file size from 98MB's to 30 without loosing any quality. Awesome. Just one thing, it is hard to see some of the settings you show... your zoom is too fast. Maybe just focus on a specific window instead of the whole desktop. Thanks again for making it.
If you have clips that are only 1 second long, have you tried putting these clips in slow motion, therefore effectively making them longer? I use iMovieHD v6.02 and haven't experienced this problem (w/ clips shorter than a second).
haha did it not work for you? bc urs isnt wide screen and its only 240p

I don't understand why people do the typed instructions instead of voice over??!!!
Takes 4 times longer to wait for them to type the words rather than say them ...

try using 1000 kbps for video or higher. For audio, i recommend 192 kbps with 44100hz.
nierdlord 2 years ago

@samboothey It's not for the quality, it's for the type of sound. that makes it STEREO, not hq.

i've got 20/20 vision and i couldn't make hardly any of that. i'm sure it works a treat but maybe an oral demonstration would have been better.

Perhaps you should specify Mac or Mac OS X in the title (and the tags)? Not everyone owns a Mac.

I've followed your advice, but still my I-Movie skips in the quicktime export...only on the one second cuts. Is there anyway to overcome this?

Can you tell me exactly why it won't work in normal quicktime 7 and has to work in pro?
CyberKiwi27 4 years ago
Only the Pro version has the exporting capability. I could be wrong since Quicktime probably updated their features.
slyvisions 4 years ago
Do you have to have Pro 7, or will the free version 7 work?
nbn444 4 years ago
Yes, you do need pro.
slyvisions 4 years ago
can you get a free trial of pro?
