1. I'm just a bassist and I tabbed out the first lick of that song.

2. We don't even know how long he's been playing... yes it would be pretty difficult to tab out, but that's where talent comes into play. You only need to know a bit of music theory and everything comes easier.. jsut by listening to a you'll know which chords are major, minor etc. then you jsut find the root note.. fairly simple. And Ian's style is basically a melody over power chords.. simple enough

i believe him. i can play things by ear. its not the exact way ian d'sa plays it (i have the billy talent book) but its the same sound in a diff place on fretboard. i once managed to sequence space dementia on garageband piano by ear, and i sequenced butterflies and hurricanes. Some people have that talent. Billy talent lol. ian d'sa plays things by ear, he said so in an interview
