    Greetings from Poland

  • my goodness, it was 1990, such long time ago , when I saw that clip on Channel 4, still remember the thrill, thank you so much !!!

  • Thank you so much for putting this on youtube, been years since its been on TV, why did they end that channel?

  • @alacas69 The show was cancelled, not enough viewers. Channel 4 UK has always been innovative and experimental. This was an attempt, after Enya brought New Age to the masses, to draw in viewing figures. Sadly it failed :-(

  • words cannot describe this video to me or my familly. in my 24 years i have yet to hear any version of this song without breaking into tears, but this particular video will forever be in our hearts. my mother recorded this when it was first shown on tv in manchester childrens hospital, as my brother was coming to the end due to lukemia. this exact video was in the background playing, we all sat and watced as he said the words "dont worry mum, this is what heaven is like". thank u so wmdowkes

  • remember this on the original Landscape Channel, on Cable TV, 1989 ish.

  • Yes i do! :)

  • I remember the Art of Landscape on C4 most fondly! The popularity of the penguins got such that the continuity announcers started announcing at the start of the sequence the time when the penguins would be on during the morning!

  • OMG - Thanks so much for posting this vid... I saw it when I was at school, and loved it - it bought a tear to my eye then, and Pachabel's Cannon has become my all-time favourite classical track becasue of it. How great to see this again after all these years - I thought it would have been lost and gone forever.

  • Thankyou for posting this.. I hadn't seen it for over 20years. A lesson in nature's harmony that we could all learn from.

  • Nice company of TUX

  • solo falta cuando viene los lobos marinos y sos polares y se lo empujan con un fonde de Slayer xD!!!

  • Speechless and Thankfull...

  • This was my late fathers favourite piece of music and had it played at his funeral. It will always be an emotional piece for me. He recorded the video by accident off channel 4. The tape is long since worn out. But we managed to purchase the original DVD off t'interweb. Great it's on YT so I can listena nd watch at work.

  • I'm listening to this right now - I recorded it off the TV all those years ago. Still think this is one of the best versions of Canon in D.

Bought a tear to my eye when I first discovered it in those early mornings.

  • I also video-ed it ack in 1989....watched it repeatedly then the tape got scrubbed.

  • and i'm pretty sure it was C4.

  • just......? beautiful

  • I remember this on BBC 2.always on about 0930 before going to college back in 89 or 90. Remembered it always and haven't seen it for years. One of the best.

  • devontankie, You must mean Channel 4 of course! :-) As that's where the Art of Landscape was shown.

  • My God! Whoever posted this ... THANK YOU SO MUCH! It's beautiful!!! I love penguins, loveeeeee them!

Thank you Thank you Thank You!!

  • I am currently totally speechless,

Fourteen years I have been waiting to see and hear this beautiful piece again. I remember morning when I would have to get up at 4.30 am to go to work, and listen to this relaxing and wonderful piece as I ate my breakfast. The halcion days of "The Landscape Channel" on Cable tv. Thank you so very much for posting this. I have a tear running down my cheek at this time I am so happy.

  • Beautiful! Thanks for sharing...this and "Tides" were always my favourite from The Art of Landscape! i only wish they'd bring it back

  • Wonderful - my favorite piece of music.

  • Loved art of landscape. Have many of the videos on DVD - I especially loved the new age ones.

  • Thanks for posting, love this forever!

  • agree with DrMontague...it was the scene in the blizzard that moved me to tears the first time I saw this......!

  • Yes ! I knew You Tube would come good on this one. I loved this video on TLC - watched it many a time, in the late 80's and early 90's. Clare Hammill did a lovely version of Pachelbel's Canon in D, and it relit my passion for the classics as well as being a lovely video. Thanks for posting!

  • I have to agree. I remember this from the good/bad old days of Nynex Cable TV, around 15 years ago. Still, it is rather good!

  • Fantastic! loved watching and listening to it on 'Landmark' cable channel.

A superb combination of sight and sound, sad, beautiful, poetic and uplifting.

    Much appreciated.

  • this was shown on the landscape channel on cable tv in the uk in the late 80s early 90s about 20 times a day!

    quality though, and emotional.

  • sweet Jesus... thanx a lot for this masterpiece! this is absolutely top 3 of my prive top songs of my life :)

    thanx again!

    it was autumn/winter of 1989...

  • Wonderful music! Thank You!

  • I remember it: GREAT. Thanks.

  • Is this actually from the 'Art of Landscape' that was on a few years ago? The video looks different. I remember them standing in really cold blizzards huddled together.

  • This clip is taken from the Art of Landscape video. However, I would also recall a similar scene but this appears not to be the case. To date, I have also posted "The Four Seasons (Winter)" and "L.Arlesienne Suite No 1 (Carillon)" from the A of L series. Enjoy!!!

  • I think the video tape must have been edited for the commercial video market at the time. My brother also remembers the snow blizzard scene. The camera was in a fixed position for about 8 minutes. The whole scene looked pitiful. The penguins stood motionless for ages then you would see just one of them move slightly.

  • It made you wonder about the whole purpose of life. But it was a brilliant piece of photography. So moving. It's a crime they've edited that bit out. Anyone have the original? If so please share. BTW thanks for uploading. I will check your other videos out as well.

  • Liked it remember it from long ago
