So, how is this trick done?

No, trapdoor.

The spirit cabinet is light-weight, with thin walls, no top and no floor.

The trick is performed on a semi-circular stage, so that an audience can see 3 sides.

Hint: George had to see a psychiatrist after the performance.

I saw Derren Brown do this but with random people from the audience. I have a question, in Derren Browns show there was a smaller spirit cabinet-like on eof those miniture theatres kids get. and he did a siimmilar illusion by covering it up and making a ball appear inside a glass. Could anyone give me the solution to the trick or better yet if the trick is a gimmick the actual name of the product thanks

This is a very good spirit cabinet routine. I just wonder why the violin was done in the middle instead of as the closing effect. Everything else is anti-climactic after.

that was awful, while the trick itself isnt too bad the showmanship exsecuted is terrible. Derren Brown does a similar trick yet from his brilliant showmanship and exsecution it makes it a fantastic peice and brings you away feeling youve actual seen something brill.

@cloz333 I tire of people who think it's OK to put down regular magicians because they're not Derren Brown. Derren Brown is incredible, but he isn't just a magician, he's a psychological illusionist which encompasses a whole gamut of things. Paul Daniels is a magician in the traditional sense through and through. He's worked very hard to achieve what he has and was one of many bow tie and tails magicians that inspired Derren Brown in the first place. Try and remember that.
