I don't believe that 'radical Islam' is the true Islam, because the Koran says "Let there be no compulsion in religion". In theory there is 1 Islam, but in practice many. The Qur'an does say "Let there be no compulsion in religion", however this is an abrogated verse. This means that it is a verse that is put aside and replaced by another verse or multiple verses. Verses that were "recited" at the start of Mohamed's "masterpiece" are canceled by later verses that contradict it. This is how muslim "scholars" rationalize some clear contradictions is his commands. Allah desires much compulsion in religion indeed.

Randam, I did not say that humans abrogate or rewrote the Qur'an verses. I said that Muhammad himself or "Allah" abrogated the verse. In the Qur'an there are verses that clearly contradict themselves and to sort this out, the scholars of Islam have determined that when two verses contradict each other, the verse that was the last to be recited is the one to be followed. Where is this "original Qur'an"? Whoever changes his Islamic religion, kill him. (Hadith Al Buhkari vol. 9:57)

You are using those verses out of the correct context. Those verses refer to a situation where unbelievers are determined and have the goal to kill all muslims. It is sort of 'selfdefence' in a case of a 'war against Islam'. Look up sura 8:61. "But if the enemy incline towards peace, do thou also incline towards peace, and trust in Allah. for He is One that heareth and knoweth of all things." Those 'muslim' countries are fake.
